Buildings

Overview

Buildings are objects that players create within the Minecraft world. They are to be built by a set of standards specified by the host of your Dominion server. Once completed, an administrator of the game can review the building and reject or accept it. If accepted, the administrator can issue a command to register the building to your settlement. All buildings must have a respective settlement and a respective owner that they are linked to.

General Requirements and Details

  • All buildings except structures must have a minimum of 3 spaces of height.
  • Must have sufficient lighting so as no mobs could spawn in the building even if spawning is disabled.
  • Exterior and ceilings cannot be made of dirt, sand, or gravel.
  • Add defense to the settlement as indicated.
  • Must have sufficient roofing and walls.
  • Should have 1 open space surrounding the exterior if possible.
  • Should have a path connecting the entrance to the rest of the settlement.
  • All buildings not constructed at ground-level must adhere to the respective irregular settlement rules.
  • Require a sign at the entrance stating what it is within brackets. If it has a certain output, level, or other information (such as where it goes to), put that on the other lines of the sign.

Creating a Building (Admins)

Administrators can use the command "/ad build" to create a building. They must specify the building classification and settlement name while doing so, and then subsequently update the building to produce a resource for a settlement. For example, if a user asked me to register a new iron mine they built, I would have to use the following steps to create it:

  1. Let's assume the city name is "Konkorum", the resource I want to produce is "iron ore", and the player id is "52".
  2. Issue "/ad build Konkorum mine"
  3. Issue "/d list building"
  4. Find the new building id #. (This will be automatically given to you upon creation in the future.) [Let's say it's 2]
  5. Issue "/d list player"
  6. Find the player id #. [Let's say it's 52]
  7. Issue "/ad update building resource iron_ore building_id 2"
  8. Issue "/ad update building owner_id 52 building_id 2"
  9. Issue "/ad update building level 1 building_id 2"

This will create a level 1 mine producing iron ore for settlement 5 and owned by player 52.

Future note: This specific set of commands will be streamlined in the future.
