Creating a gate/Gate Advanced Options
Chest Options
Most advanced options for a gate are created by placing items in the chest when the gate is created. Each slot in the chest is for a different purpose.

First Row: The Gate's Address
The first row of the chest (highlighted blue) is the gate's address which is used to make a connection to the gate. This is also used when dialling to specify which gate you want to go to. See Creating a gate for information.
Second Row: Auto Dial Address
The second row (highlighted yellow) is used for the Auto Dial Address. This means that any address in this slot when creating the gate, will be dialled if no address is set.
This can be useful if you want to make a gate which can only connect to one location. Place the address of the destination in the this area and hide or block the chest. That way no address can be entered and the gate is locked to a specific destination.
1: Chevron Type
Chevrons are the torches which appear around a dialled or dialling gate. It has 3 options for the chevron type:
- Disabled
- Normal Torch
- Redstone Torch
Placing a redstone or normal torch in the slot numbered 1 in the above picture, will force the gate to use that torch type as a chevron. If no torch is placed in the slot the default will be used. It is not possible to disable chevrons for individual gates.
2: Iris Key
The slot numbered 2 is for the iris key. For more information see Using an Iris.
3: Unused

4: Unused

5: Unused

8: Unused

9: Indefinite Connection
Slot 9 is used to make the gate keep it's connection open indefinitely. To make the gate do this, the indefinite item (defined in the configuration) must be placed in this slot. By default this is disabled.
Sign Options
Signs use each line to set a different option except for the first line which is always [Gate]
Line 2: The Name
The second line on a sign is used to set the name of the gate. This is used in commands to identify the gate and also as the name of the save file for the gate. This is why it cannot contain any characters which are not allowed in file names.
Line 3: Visibility
The third line is used to set the visibility of the gate. For more information see Gate Visibilities
