Posted Nov 7, 2012How much longer do you estimate it will take to have the first download available, because this is exactly what i'm looking for, for my server.

Yea, it will be a challenge to get it between the chest...

Posted Nov 5, 2012@TheCodeGreen Yeah, the only problem is that I need to figure out how to power the beacons without the gold/diamond blocks, and I want to figure out how to just have the effect so I can put it anywhere down to the 1/2 block.

Seems like you have everything covered... and as for the beacon, I have some images of how the beacon looks with a chest, in case you wanted a reference image. (I used LAST DAYS texture pack... perfect for my zombie server that is a work in progress). Images: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/93005677/Beacon%20behind%20Chest.png https://dl.dropbox.com/u/93005677/Beacon%20on%20Single%20Chest.png https://dl.dropbox.com/u/93005677/Becon%20on%20Double%20Chest.png You may need to zoom out of your browser a bit to view the images. (Beacon block can go through glass and apparently chests too in case you did not know).

Posted Nov 4, 2012@TheCodeGreen The mystery box already does this, I made this happen this weekend.
And as for the other comment...
The massive feature I mean is the entire game, which basically re-invents minecraft. The spawn system is set up like that, but to prevent mobs from attacking barriers that are not yet in open areas, I have made them spawn at the closest spawner, and attack the closest barrier to the player, then attack the player. There are a few backups, the priorities are:
-> = Attack
1 - Spawners -> Barrier -> Player
2 - Barrier -> Player
3 - Random distance from player from 7 to 18 -> Player
And as for the beacon...
I am not exactly sure on how I will do this, but I am actually wondering if Minecraft allows the beacon to be put at an exact area, so if the chest is double, I can put it between the 2 blocks, and if it is single, I can put it over that block.

Posted Nov 4, 2012You also mentioned "active" mystery box in your comment... does that mean the box will change places like it does in the real CoD Zombies!? That would be an impressive feature to pull off in MineCraft... it's worth a try if you haven't already.

Will this "MASSIVE" feature delay the release at all? And as for the spawn system, out of all of the other zombie plugins I have used, simply choosing a spawn with one command isn't a hassle at all, so if you don't know how to make it easier, I'd be fine with that. Something like "/za spawn add/delete [spawn name]" would be fine. There would have to be names for each spawn to keep track of spawns in case they need to be edited. Names could be as simple as number: Spawn_1, Spawn_2, etc.. You can make the spawn system however you choose, I'm just telling you how other plugins did it. BTW: That beacon idea you put down is the same idea I had when I first saw the beacon light in the pre-releases... I thought I was the only one who came up with that! However, I'm sure it will be difficult to make the beacon light above the chest, since the light is one block wide, and the chest is two blocks wide, making it uneven. Unless, the chest is going to be a single chest, but then it does not resemble to wide mystery box we all know and love. (Sorry for the long comment)

Posted Nov 4, 2012@TheCodeGreen Not exactly sure as of yet, but I am basically adding a MASSIVE feature to the game. Almost re-inventing the game itself, so I guess this is worth it no matter what. Currently, zombies and wolves only spawn in clumps if there is only 1 player in the game. I am trying to perfect the spawn system, but it is very difficult without making setup extremely complicated.
BTW: I managed to implement the lightning when wolves spawn, and am looking into beacon effects over the active mystery chest!

So you are saying that the wolves just spawn in one big clump rather than scattered throughout the map? What about the zombies?
It just came to me that by the time CoD: Black Ops 2 comes out, there will be a whole new set of features that you are probably going to add, which will extend the release date of the plugin further, unless you plan on not adding Black Ops 2 features.

Posted Nov 4, 2012@TheCodeGreen This has been an idea for a while, but it hasn't been implemented yet. I need to create some variation in the spawns first, so they don't all spawn in the same area.

Posted Nov 4, 2012I noticed that under the features list, you've added visual effects and you may or may have not included this, but when the wolves spawn, a lightning bolt reveals their spawn location as well as when a player joins a game, a lightning bolt shoots down above them, like in the actual game when you join the map Kino der Untoten. Just a cool feature that you might add, if not already done.

Posted Oct 29, 2012Hi James, I'm still very excited about this soon to be released plugin. I do, however, have one suggestion; would it be possible for you to add the Perk-a-Colas from the Call of Duty games? These are the drinks that give you power-ups such as the Juggernog, and the Speed Cola. They could probably be easily implemented in the form of potions. They just seem like they would be a fairly simple thing to implement that would increase variation in gameplay, as well as render the game more similar to its Call of Duty counterpart. Keep up the good work!

Posted Oct 25, 2012@Grave9912 Not sure yet, because there are a few things that I have to fix and add before release. I hope that it is mostly bug-free and the API is almost complete by the time it is released, so I won't get many complaints, and not have to keep updating it constantly.
