Posted Sep 2, 2012Just thought I would let you know that I added a feature that will let you spawn with certain items when the game starts, it works with damage values too. I just need to add enchantment support then that's that bit done

Posted Aug 24, 2012@Icynene For anyone who doesn't understand this, I will explain it a bit more in detail. When a player joins a game, they will be asked if they want to use a texture pack that you specify (we have pro texture pack artists working on a recommended one), and if they accept it, it will give them the feel of a really well-made zombie game. This does NOT require spout or anything else, just a craftbukkit build past 1.3.

I have been working on ZA all day to bring you a few new features!
Mystery Box: The mystery box is basically a chest with obsidian beneath it, that makes the game much more interesting. Basically, if you have enough, you open it, and there will be a random weapon in it.
Debug mode: If you set the debug mode in the config, the console will spit out info at you. This info is a great help to us if you post it as a ticket. This will allow us to find a common problem (if there is one), and let us fix it fast and easy.
Multi-world compatible: Now, you can run multiple games on each world, or even multiple games on multiple worlds! There really is no limit to how many games you can run... if you have the RAM.
...and a few other small features and updates.
I will be working on this plugin vigorously to bring you new updates, features, and a bunch of new stuff. I also hope to get the other developers re-interested, so they can help me make this plugin much better.
The development team is now using the group call feature of skype. This will allow us to talk to each other without having to leave eclipse (what we use to write plugins) and type. This will also help us pump out this game faster, and we hope you enjoy our hard work, as we have enjoyed writing this.
If you have any ideas/comments/concerns please leave a comment. If you want to know about our code, you will have to wait until we release ZA, then you can view out github page to see how/why we did something. We are not sure on if this page is actually going to be public or not, but it really depends on how sure we are that this plugin will be taken in by the community.

Posted Aug 19, 2012I re-wrote a bunch of stuff to allow for multiple games on the server. This plugin is gonna take a while because the other developers are busy with other things, as am I. Don't worry though, we will get this plugin out as soon as possible, and in the meantime, check out our other plugins, because that's what we've been working on recently.

Posted Aug 15, 2012@Kabyl We are looking into world generation... in that case, we would have the pro-map-builders make all of the maps on one world, then copy/paste them as many times as needed, then we could add a way for you to generate it. Still not sure on that though.
As for the names of blocks, this should be no problem. We use Material.NAME for almost everything, as it has been with bukkit for forever, this should be no issue, since tekkit runs 1.2.5. We could use ids, but Material.NAME is linked directly to an id, and is no different than doing: if (block.getTypeId() == 9){}

Might i make a suggestion though? One of the biggest issues i've encountered concerning the block breaking is the *ahem* other plugins always use the names of the blocks, rather than the ids. Do you guys intend on using ids rather than the block name?
Also, in the config, is there anything that might allow me to make this a server-wide long-term experience? That might be a bit out of the scope of what you guys are trying to do. Maybe... if there was a way to set the entire server as the play area and have some config somewhere to force players to join a game on login, that could be interesting.

As of the release date, the entire plugin is a while out, but we may release a part of the plugin this week (the part that allows zombies to break fences (barriers)).

Posted Aug 15, 2012i would REALLY love to test this out when you guys release this plugin, but i'm currently running the 3.1.2 version of tekkit, which runs 1.2.5 R4 (i think). I'm trying to go for an mmorpg styled player experience and have mostly managed to do so. My only issue is that one of the plugin authors may have abandoned his plugin.
Do you have any plans to release a tekkit compatible version?
I'd be more than happy to test this out personally, and i can run it by my community (10+ players) to see if they'd want to give it a shot.

Posted Aug 14, 2012@iKeirNez As Keir said, we re-used the exp bar, but I just wanted to clarify that we give back experience when you die out of the game/leave the game/leave the server. And the exp bar is just used to track the level of the game... like in Nazi-Zombies where theres a number/tally at the bottom of the screen.... we add levels for each game-level.
