Overview
VoxelSniper is the premier long range map editing tool for Minecraft. This mod allows you to edit any block that you can see using an arrow (for replacing) and a gunpowder (for adding). It is best used by those with a strong attention to detail and fits a wide array of applications, from making detailed edits to structures with the snipe brush, to making massive terraforming jobs a breeze with some of the earth shattering soft selection tools.
Metrics
This plugin utilises Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- The number of Snipers/LiteSnipers online
- The number of times Brushes are used
Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

I have a few worlds (mostly all our survival worlds) where i don't want it to be used, but sometimes the limited few that have access just forget to remove themselves from the sniper list before going back to play in survival.

Yes permissions. Although only a tiny implementation from what I would like. The VoxelUpdate jar on DBO will stay. Although feel free to grab the copy from our wiki page at any time.

As I mentioned in this post, it is a small implementation of permissions, although I can imagine it will be helpful for many server administrators out there. Permission nodes will just replace the previous lists (snipers.txt and litesnipers.txt).
I hope to have the 1.3.1 Version with the permission out either today or tomorrow.
EDIT: Also feel free to contribute to the development by sharing feature requests and bug reports through the github issue tracker.

Permissions? The .txt system worked well for our server, but why not. Just please make sure that this time it won't conflict with other mods' attribute system, for example sk89q's commandbook '|' thingy..
Oh yes and imho a standalone .jar installer would be better than the voxelupdate since it had some issues and many people use the sniper without any other voxelmods.

Posted Aug 5, 2012I am currently scouring voxelwiki's page on sniper to figure out a tool that can fill in a lot of material without affecting anything on the other side (sometimes a border as thin as one block) I tried the extrude brush already, and it worked great on the stuff farther away, but where there was a thin border it messed with what I had on the other side. same with the fill brush. anyone got any advice for this?

Posted Aug 4, 2012Hey, is the vegetation brush already in the plugin? All the other "in development" brushes are usable and I am just not sure if I am doing something wrong. And I have a BIG island to reforest. (love the large biomes)

My /v is stone and my /vr is air. Then when i type /vs swap or something my /v is air and /vr is stone.
