Overview
VoxelSniper is the premier long range map editing tool for Minecraft. This mod allows you to edit any block that you can see using an arrow (for replacing) and a gunpowder (for adding). It is best used by those with a strong attention to detail and fits a wide array of applications, from making detailed edits to structures with the snipe brush, to making massive terraforming jobs a breeze with some of the earth shattering soft selection tools.
Metrics
This plugin utilises Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- The number of Snipers/LiteSnipers online
- The number of times Brushes are used
Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

Posted Sep 2, 2012cellmanager, have you tried restarting your server when the chunks disappear?
there is an issue in bukkit not resending chunks.
the chunks aren't corrupt they just aren't being resent to your client.

It started happening when I used VoxelSniper to edit terrain, I was kinda terrified, so I removed it and changed it for WorldEdit, now it still happens every time, I WorldEdit, but as soon as I undo it, the chunk disappears again..

I don't think we have Ever corrupted chunks with VoxelSniper.
There was a nice way of corrupting chunks by pushing Ice with a piston a while back though.

I'm 100% sure it was caused by voxel, places where I have previously used a brush just rise above ground as whole chunks. Please help me fix this, MCEdit is outdated..

That means your map has in some way corrupted data. This can happen sometimes and has nothing to do with VoxelSniper. As far as I know MCEdit can fix these issues, but make sure you make a backup of your world first.

We are currently intensively working on Sniper and bringing new features and improvements as well as bug fixes. So yes. This is definitely something we want to improve. Also you can help us by providing information on what is broken, what could be improved and what new features would be interesting you, by just heading over to our Bugtracker for VoxelSniper on http://github.com/TVPT/VoxelSniper/issues and creating a ticket, that has a descriptive title and some information about it. That way we can easily keep track of what needs to be done, you guys can give us direct feedback on some of our decisions as well as you getting informed on the completion of that certain task, so you can easily know when you can check out on those improvements.

Aha! You are correct! I hadn't given myself the permissions to use it! I'm used to normally getting a "You don't have permission to do that" message if I don't have the right permissions to do something. Any chance that will be added rather then just appearing to be borked?
All I had to do was add the "voxelsniper.sniper" node to my permissions and it all worked again.

Apparently the command help texts are out of date. Please check out the documentation over at http://voxelwiki.com/minecraft/VoxelSniper and notice that we switched to the Bukkit permission system. You might just not have the permissions to do snipe.

Posted Aug 31, 2012Here's another problem I'm encountering: Although VoxelSniper is installed (v5.166.6) I can't actually use it. Any command that I type just results in it telling me an example of how to use that command. For example, typing the command "/b 5" prints out
"Example: /b 5
sets a brush radius size of 5 (11 spaces across). Example: /b idrsets an ink disc replace brush. /b select-radius"Since updating to 1.3 I haven't been able to use VoxelSniper at all ... despite the builds being built for 1.3 nothing works. Am I doing something wrong? Did something change that I need to configure? This all worked perfectly before my update to 1.3.

Posted Aug 31, 2012So I just updated to the latest VoxelUpdate (v1.2.2) and used it to update VoxelSniper. That all worked as expected. But now I'm seeing the warning below in my console every 15 minutes. Any ideas what might be causing this?
EDIT: I should also mention that I'm running the 1.3.2 R0.1 release of bukkit.
EDIT2: Okay so I just noticed that there was a newer version available. I've now updated to 1.2.5 and also updated VoxelSniper. We will see if that fixes the problems ...

Posted Aug 30, 2012I really like this plugin and Would like to use it on my server, however we have both survival and creative worlds, and I can't find a way to let users use voxel sniper in one world and not another... Could you please add permission support? I would like to be able to chose what brushes people can use, and in which worlds they can us them.

Posted Aug 30, 2012How about the publishers of this plugin update like EVERYONE ELSE and post up the JAR. I'm several versions behind because I can't figure out how to work voxelupdate, I'm honestly not even sure it works on my machine. LET US DOWNLOAD THE JAR FROM SOMEWHERE, WTF ARE YOU THINKING
If i press download, on the voxelsniper page, it should take me to a JAR for voxelsniper, not voxelupdate.
If i want voxel update i will GET IT MYSELF WHAT THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING I CANT GET IT ACROSS PROPER:Y
Edit: Just found the Dev page. For being so smart, some people are fucking stupid. And I mean this of myself and the devs... Cuz I'm gonna forget about the dev page in 3 months and come back bitching the same way.

Posted Aug 28, 2012Are all of you seriously THAT dense?
For crying out loud; what it 'does' is literally described in it's own Title.
Let's disambiguate:
VoxelUpdate
"Voxel" - The prefix, or brand name.
"Update" - The functionality, or what it does.
Ok, so it has 'update' in it's name... it must have something to do with updating. Let's think further: what does it update?
Well, it's provided as a download for every plugin that we have public.. so maybe because it wears the 'Voxel' brand than perhaps it provides updates for All the 'Voxel' branded plugins?
Hmm ..
