V 1.3: Changed the signs to be numbers instead of characters. Made the signs automatically create if one isn't there. Signs height and power can be adjusted by right clicking & shift+right clicking! Made iron block's height and power adjustable! Added disable and enable commands! Removed some unnecessary code. Temporary Download Link (Version 1.3)
V 1.2.7: Fixed so that other portals aren't affected by this plugin ((Sorry that they were in 1.2.5!)) (Only End Portals).. and made it more difficult to teleport to the end (if not impossible) through the fireworks.
V 1.2.5: Made it so people can't teleport to the end through the fireworks;
V 1.2.1: Bug Fix.
V 1.2: Added light to fireworks and removed the requirement to type 'firework' on the top of the height and power signs.
V 1.1.1: Added sign 'power' and 'height' functionality.
V 1.0.1: Compiled with JDK6 instead of 7.
V 1.0: Cleaned up code, fixed some bugs. Reduced the firework intensity to reduce lag - for more intense fireworks send power to more than one side of the wool block at once.
V 0.6: Initial Release.

What numbers are on the sign? If the second number (on the third line) is 0 it wont show anything;
Also make sure the height is fairly low (the first number) cause you have to be pretty close to see the effect; Unfortunately its hard wired into minecraft that you have to be within 15 blocks to see it :/

Honestly its pretty hard to mess up the sign; The plugin will correct it most of the time if your syntax is wrong; You leave the first line blank. Then put numbers on the second and third line; If you don't have an item in your hand you can right click on the sign to increase the first number, and if you shift(crouch)+right click it will adjust the second number :)

Either particle effects are off, you have a custom texture pack that is cancelling out the particles.png swirlies that is used for potion effects, or lastly you're standing too far away from the firework to see the visual effect; Unfortunately you have to be within 14 blocks of the explosion for it to work :[

sometimes this stops working, this is most likely due to spoutcraft or spout plugin if you are using them.
there are 3 things you can try,
first get the latest dev build of spoutcraft from http://get.spout.org/
second restart your server
third ensure your client is latest
last look up and press the button/switch (a firework goes off each time it is hit by power. Constant power will only make it go off once.)
Keeping everything up to date is your friend.

Posted Sep 10, 2012latest update of spoutcraft seems to have broken this plugin, don't know for sure, but i am running the latest version of everything, and it was working fine yesterday, but today after spoutcraft updated, it broke.
oh i should add, i can see the end portals at any time from above, but i can only see the fireworks if i am flying near where they should burst.
seems to be working again, so i have no idea why sometimes after a restart it doesn't work
Also is it possible to increase the view range seems like 14 block away you can't hear or see fireworks

Yup, no longer required :) Probably gonna make the signs work with either the ^'s or *'s in a later version;
