V 1.3: Changed the signs to be numbers instead of characters. Made the signs automatically create if one isn't there. Signs height and power can be adjusted by right clicking & shift+right clicking! Made iron block's height and power adjustable! Added disable and enable commands! Removed some unnecessary code. Temporary Download Link (Version 1.3)
V 1.2.7: Fixed so that other portals aren't affected by this plugin ((Sorry that they were in 1.2.5!)) (Only End Portals).. and made it more difficult to teleport to the end (if not impossible) through the fireworks.
V 1.2.5: Made it so people can't teleport to the end through the fireworks;
V 1.2.1: Bug Fix.
V 1.2: Added light to fireworks and removed the requirement to type 'firework' on the top of the height and power signs.
V 1.1.1: Added sign 'power' and 'height' functionality.
V 1.0.1: Compiled with JDK6 instead of 7.
V 1.0: Cleaned up code, fixed some bugs. Reduced the firework intensity to reduce lag - for more intense fireworks send power to more than one side of the wool block at once.
V 0.6: Initial Release.

Posted Sep 10, 2012Latest version works like a charm, players can enter the nether again :)
For the power and height settings could you make it just accept a number on each line instead (with a programmed max in case people put in insane numbers)? Setting up a lot of these is quite painful doing * every time typing in 6 and 4 one the first and 2nd line would be simplest... :)

Yes, my sever has a maze pyramid/quize for players to "pass before getting on the server, i had set-up fireworks at the end of it for anyone who makes it through... The typical player reaction is to go "OOO!" (they love it!) and then they hit the button a bunch more times and trigger more. I had about 10-15 launchers setup in a time delay, and was invisible in creative mode flying close to where the explosions happen above the launchers.
It looks like mini portals from above btw kinda neat ;) Anyhow while they were triggering the circuit i was instantly teleported to the end, the client crashed and after reconnecting i was at "The End's" initial spawn point.

Posted Sep 9, 2012Permissions probably are later on my to-do list over bug fixes and what not but I assume eventually I'll add them;
The explosion not being visible anymore at specific distances has to do with the way minecraft is programmed - I'm looking into a way to make those effects visible from farther distances but It's not looking promising so far :(

The only problem I've been having is that sometimes the explosion is not visible anymore, even when I'm on viewing distance 'far'.
Can this be solved?

I'm not sure if theres a way to change the distance the effects are seen at, as it's part of minecraft itself showing the effects only at a distance... I'll be trying to lengthen it but as of yet i have no idea how to do that :P
Oh, i must've set the explosion at higher than 0.0F >< I'll have to fix that as well :)

Posted Sep 8, 2012Hey Found a pretty major bug on our server. Nether access was completely disabled with this plugin on. Also i was accidentally portal-ed to the end still using the latest plugin! Great plugin, I could give some suggestions for how to rework the signs if your interrested :)

I was about to report that I was getting only intermittent launches - but then I realized it was all about where I stood (with wool at least - the iron explosions are visible pretter much anywhere). If I got more than 10 blocks away (at default values - highest height meant even shorter viable distance on ground), I couldn't see or hear the wool fireworks anymore, making me think it wasn't working at all (probably like other commenters have mentioned).
This is a rather short distance for people to enjoy the fireworks, and limits their usefulness to very close-up entertainment - any chance that can be extended greatly?
I can't tell you how cool this would be connected to tripwire as an alarm device (mobs or PvP) - but only with greater distance.
Also, your description is a little misleading, in that the wool fireworks don't do damage, but the iron "explosion" is a very real explosion, as I noticed come morning that all my treetops were blown away.... ;-)

Yeah, each ^ is a block, 12 characters and the plugin automatically adds 2 blocks - If you go much higher than that you can't see the fireworks :/

Every color of wool should work; It's just that the light blue one is .. well, light. It's not a very strong effect :p
