Introduction

Welcome to Spells! This Bukkit plugin puts magic spells into the game. The goal of the plugin is to introduce a whole new style of play by adding new ways to fight, build, and more. This is achieved by allowing the player to cast spells with all sorts of different uses. This user guide will outline the basics of using our Spells plugin as a player. Enjoy!

The Staff

In order to cast a spell, you must first build a staff via the custom crafting recipe shown above. Your staff is at the center of all your magic; without it, no spells can be performed. Should you lose your staff, you can always craft a new one. If your staff appears to be a gold hoe, it is because you do not have the custom staff texture. If you wish to install the texture for yourself, follow these instructions.

Casting a Spell

This paragraph is about features that will be implemented in our next release. As of this release, it is not relevant. [Select your staff and right-click. As you click, you will see words such as "EXAMPLE GROUP 1" and "EXAMPLE GROUP 2" in the chat box. These are groups of spells. Each group contains different types of spells. When you find a group that interests you (for example, EXAMPLE GROUP 1), left-click to select it. Now right-clicking will display individual spells within that group.]

Equip the staff and right-click. This will allow you to cycle through a list of spells that you can use. Each spell has a material cost and cooldown time, in order to prevent abuse and balance the game. To find out a spell's cost and effect, select it and type either /s info or /spells info. You may notice that all spells require redstone to cast; this is because redstone is used as a simple form of mana. More powerful spells require more redstone and rarer reagents to cast. Once you have acquired all the reagents required to cast the spell you wish to cast, left-click once. The required items will be used up, and the spell will be cast.

Casting another spell

You can right-click to continue cycling through your spell choices as you did to cast your first spell. This section is also about future features.[If you wish to cast another spell from the same spell group, simply right-click again to keep cycling through your options. Otherwise, hold right-click for a brief moment. You will be sent back to the root group, from which you can select any group of spells you wish.]

Troubleshooting and Feedback

As this is an early build of the plugin, there will be bugs and issues. Should anything go wrong, please report it to us with a ticket.
