Feel free to open pull requests, but try to keep the changes per PR minimal to reduce the time required to review them. If you have larger or more complex changes in mind, feel free to contact me to discuss them before you start working on them.

Paintball is a fast paced and action packed multiplayer game.
In the classic TeamDeathMatch mode 2 teams compete against each other to bombard each other with snowballs. Once a player is hit, he's out and automatically leaves the arena and has to wait in the paintball lobby for his mates to finish and the next match to start. In the Paintball lobby you will meet all paintball players, choose your team and wait for enough players, or the end of the last match. When all conditions are met, a countdown starts which announces the next match.

Basic-Features
Paintball is constantly expanding. There are more and more features added which have not much to do with the classic paintball game. But do not panic: According to your personal preferences you can modify or disable most things in the config.yml in the Paintball folder.
- No client or server modifications or additional plugins are required !
- Multiple Arenas: Build as many arenas as you like !
- Complete freedom on what your arena looks like! As Paintball does not care about your arenas borders, your arena can have any shape and layout, as long as it is impenetrable. Simple build some sort of wall around your arena to keep your players inside.
- Multiple Spawns: Paintball lets you define multiple spawn points for each team (red, blue, spectators) !
- Automatic-Lobby-Arena-System: The Paintball lobby will automatically rotate through all your ready arenas. No need for administrators to be online !
Limitation: Currently there can always only run one match at a time.
- Easy: No complex setup needed ! Only 4 commands and your arena is ready and added to the automatic arena rotation !
- Mechanism to strictly seperate Survival and Paintball and to prevent "cheating" in and with Paintball.
- Easy and individually adjustable small Shop, where you can buy ammunition or other special and unique "weapons", gadgets and power-ups with the Paintball-Cash earned during the matches.
- Ranking: Your players gain points to compete with each other !
- Various statistics: examples are Points, Cash, Kills, Deaths, Hits, Shots, KD, Accurancy, Teamattacks, Wins and Defeats for each player, each arena and as a whole.
- Toggleable Killfeed ! Turn it off if it spams you !
- Most stuff is configurable ! For advanced information click here.

Easy integration on every survival server!
Our main target is to keep this plugin easily integratable on any standard survival server without disturbing the survival feeling. Players shall not be able to swindle items or gain other advantages over survival players through Paintball.
Here you got some sort of overview what actions are taken to protect the survival-part of the server:
People with the 'paintball.admin' permissions node can bypass some of them.
- Prevent commands that are not related to Paintball. So player can't teleport or use commands as a benefit.
- Prevent breaking and placing of blocks.
- Prevent dropping and picking up items, or dropping the armor.
- Options to let players only join with full health or hunger so they can't escape during fights.
- Options to save the players inventory when joining the lobby and restore afterwards.
- Paintball inventory is cleared when leaving the lobby.
- Turned off damage and starvation inside the lobby.
- Many things can be disabled if they create problems with your other plugins.
- Explosions do no damage to blocks.
- Only Paintball players receive the Paintball messages. Your other players will not get spammed.

Additional information
Hint about version checking and stats collecting:
This plugin is checking dev.bukkit.org for new updates. This can be disabled in the config with the setting "Server.Version Check".
This plugin is also doing some periodically stats tracking to mcstats.org which helps me to determine how many servers are using it. This can be disabled with the setting "Server.Metrics".
And the plugin is also sending some stats to blablubbabc.de to maybe prepare for some kind of later serverlist (a list of paintball servers). Currently those data are only stored in a non-public mysql table on my server.
- This means that this plugin is sending some general information about the minecraftserver, like: ip-adress, port, servername, slots, motd, bukkit version, if server is in onlinemode and if it has whitelist enabled.
- And some information about paintball like: how many players already played paintball there and if it is an paintball-only server (autolobby enabled) and if the server admin wants the server to be listed at some kind of public server list later, when it is finished.
→Those data are currently only send once every reload.
→ For people who don't want to share these informations with me :( → you can en- and disable this in the serverlist config (plugins/Paintball/serverlist.yml) with the setting "post enabled"

Das mit den Farbpartikeln (von tränken) sind nur "effekte", keine tatsächlichen Tränke. Die haben damit nix zu tun. Du kannst das aber auch ausschalten. In der config ist das die Einstellungen "effects". Aber wie gesagt, das sind keine "echten" Tränke mit irgendwelchen Auswirkungen für die Spieler. Das sind nur die Partikel (und der Sound, leider) von geworfenen Tränken.
Wenn deine Spieler Unsichtbarkeits-Tränke irgendwie bekommen, ist es klar das sie dadurch unsichtbar werden.. Aber selbst dann, sollten alle Trank Wirkungen beim Respawnen/Spawnen wieder entfernt werden. Paintball vergibt von alleine allerdings keine Unsichtbarkeits-Tränke an Spieler.
Video ist grundsätzlich eine gute Idee. Aber selbst mit Video werde ich sehr wahrscheinlich nix ändern können.
Die einzigste Stelle in Paintball wo ich Spieler kurz unsichtbar mache, ist bei Teleports (also bei spawns) nach 0.75 Sekunden. Dann werden Spieler für 1/20 Sekunden unsichtbar, und dann wieder sichtbar. Das ist mit dem TeleportFix verbunden, und sollte alle Spieler sichtbar machen. Das klappt auch ziemlich gut. Dein Problem scheint wo anders zu liegen..
Wie weit sind deine Arenen von deiner Lobby entfernt? Und wie groß sind deine Arenen? Das sollte eigentlich keine Rolle spielen bei eingeschaltetem TeleportFix, aber wer weiß..
Was auch noch sein könnte: Ein anderes Plugin versucht genauso die Invisible-Bugs von Minecraft zu umgehen wie ich (alls Spieler ganz kurz unsichtbar machen und dann wieder sichtbar machen). Evt. kommen sich die Plugins dabei in die Quere. Ich wende meinen "Teleport-Fix" nur auf Paintball-Spieler an. Evt. macht das ein anderes Plugins für alle Spieler, und dadurch werden nach Teleports die Spieler mal zufällig unsichtbar. (je nachdem in welcher Reihenfolge unsere Teleport-Codes ausgeführt werden..)
Aber du kannst TeleportFix ja einfach mal auf false stellen. Wenn Spieler dann "öfter" unsichtbar werden, schon beim Spawnen, dann besser wieder an machen ^^

Ich habe es selber so gesehen, dass so "rein zufällig" ab und zu Spieler unsichtbar sind.
Mir wird dies auch häufiger von anderen Spielern gesagt.
Könnte das vielleicht an den "Tränken" liegen.
Sprich wenn man einen Schneeball wirft sieht der Aufprall so aus als wäre das ein geworfener Trank.
Oder irgendwie am "Streaming".
Das der Client denkt wegen dem "geworfenen Trank" dass er unsichtbar ist und deshalb einen als Unsichtbar anzeigt??
Das Werfen hört sich ja auch so nach einem geworfenen Trank an.
Der Aufprall auch.
Sonst mach ich einfach mal immer Videos und zeige dir das dann sobald ich einen unsichtbaren erwischt habe :)
Ich mache einfach das Video und teile es dir dann per Ticket mit.

I also already saw this. But I see no really need for me to add this in paintball. Paintball players are already highlighted in the tab list with their team colors.
For a "hud" and ingame stats to show for example remaining lives, respawns, countdowns I could already use the health and xp bar (if this was a priority for me, but it isn't currently), and for more information for players to add to the hud, I am waiting for the next minecarft update, which will add this: http:www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Scoreboard

It's called TABAPI and the only reason I put that in caps was because people some time see it as TagAPI which is already added. Have a look at it for your self and I think you would like to add it ASAP :D

Paintball doesn't work that way. Players don't "join arenas". Players join the lobby. And the lobby will rotate through all availible arenas.

Known caveats
This is a "quick and dirty" release. Lots of fixes and changes I made over the last weeks are not included because they are part of greater commits I made to the project, that aren't yet comleted. So I tried to implement most of the important fixes and changes in this version, by remembering what I actually already changed in my working branch. And lots of these "reimplemented fixes/changes" weren't yet tested.

I am currently working on changes that would make this and other things, like up to 4 teams, different gamemodes and mySQL statistics possible. I am working on this for a couple of weeks now, but there is still a lot of things to do before everything works like planned. This will probably be something for v1.2 .
What do you mean with "/pb random disables itself" ? And are you talking about a paintball reload (/pb admin reload ->enabling/disabling) or a complete bukkit/plugins reload ? What should this setting be for?

Posted Feb 18, 2013Can you add support for being able to use multiple arenas at once? E.g. people join the lobby, an arena starts and they are automatically put into it as normal. Other people then join the lobby, another match should then start when the required players have joined the lobby while there is an arena still in progress. Then these players are automatically teleported to a different arena that is already set up. If you could add this it would mean players don't have to wait in the lobby for the arena to end to join! Thanks
Also, why does /pb random disable itself after a reload? I don't get why it would be this way, can you put an option in the config?

hm, can't help you with the spam-kicking. It's not caused by me.
The Mutliverse-Inventory-thing: Currently it should work like this in v1.1.5:
Nothing was tested, as I don't use multiverse inventories for myself.. but might in the future..And I have no idea when it actually changes the world inventories. My guess was/is on worldchange, so on teleport. Thats why I changed it in v1.1.5 to teleport first and then clear & stored the inventory on join, and clear & restore and then teleport back on leaving..
EDIT: Whooops! I just took a look at my code and it seems I changed things in v1.1.5, but not like planned! So in fact, the inventory is still saved first! I am sorry.. I might then upload a new version soon..

well, it's not working 100%... We put arenas in the PvP world which has a separate inventory from the main World... So if you join from the main World, you have a chance of losing your PvP world inventory (...which doesn't really matter because the PvP world inventory doesn't matter because people frequently go into Creative mode to build arenas & what not). But it looks like the main World inventory IS in fact saved and restored... And i think it replaces the PvP inventory with the main World.
unfortunately, my current issue is... People are being kicked for spam... i think it's either Grief Prevention or this plugin... And we have two servers... and they get kicked faster on the main server... and not as fast on the Test Server... ugh... i'll solve it eventually... i'll probably have to stop the server, delete a plugin, restart, & test to see if the problem still exists.

Wie meinst du das? Direkt beim Treffer, oder beim Match-Start-Spawn, oder beim Respawn, oder wann genau? Und nur unter bestimmten Umständen/bestimmten Arenen/etc. ?
Hast du in deiner config "TeleportFix: true" ?
Ich kann dir da zum aktuellen Stand nicht weiter helfen. Ohne mehr Informationen, wie man dieses "Fehl-Verhalten" re-produzieren kann .. :(
Ich mache Spieler nur gezielt sichtbar, nicht unsichtbar. Aber bukkit/minecraft hat ein paar bugs die unter bestimmten Umständen auftreten können und Spieler unsichtbar für einander machen. Daher bitte eine so ausführliche Problem - und Ursachenbeschreibung wie möglich. Am besten in einem Ticket.

You can make mutliple arenas, but players can always play only one at a time and they can't choose their arena, paintball will simple cycle through all possible arenas.
