NBTEditor
NBTEditor allows easy customization of many aspects of Minecraft, through the modification of NBT tags, on Spigot and CraftBukkit servers. Creating custom potions and tools with powerful enchantments is as easy as running a few commands. And with the help of the Book of Souls, it's possible to create highly complex entities and spawners with ease.
Features include:
- Robust system to edit of all entities and spawners using a book based UI (Book of Souls);
- Conversion entities into '/summon' commands;
- Customization of items (name, lore, unbreakable, modifiers, colors on leather armor etc.);
- Item enchanting with no limits;
- Creation of custom potions;
- Conversion of items into '/give' commands;
- Tile customization (spawners, beacons, chests etc.);
- Conversion of tiles into '/setblock' commands;

Edit now, spawn later: The Book of Souls is most powerful feature of the NBTEditor, it allows for easy entity customization. Create bosses, custom villagers, flying creepers or anything you like. No data files, no one-time customization, just keep the book safe and you can spawn as many entities as you like.
Included is also an 'Item Storage' command to keep track of your Books of Souls and other edited items.
The variable system used by the NBTEditor ensures that only valid NBT changes are performed while providing a standard way to make those changes. Arbitrary NBT modifications are not possible.


All Items, Entities and Spawners are fully compatible with the Vanilla Minecraft!

Global Statistics
On version 2.0 the NBTEditor started using MCStats for usage statistics. MCStats is now offline.
Since version 3.0, bStats is used to gather general usage statistics. You can read here about bStats, what data is sent, and how to opt-out from sending statistics from your server.

As I said before, I will not be adding anything that is not already implemented on the vanilla game. The spawn light level cannot be controlled by NBT tags. If Mojang ever adds NBT tags to control that, I will add those variables.

Adding effects to items, as you said, would be beyond the scope of this plugin. Mojang has already migrated some effects to work with modifiers... Both Speed Boost and Strength effects now work based on attribute modifiers. So they can be added to weapons/armor (with the /nbti mod command). Read all about attributes/modifiers here: minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Attribute.
If Mojang ever adds more attributes that affect the player jump height and such, then I will very easily allow them to be changed.
The NBTEditor will never add new features, it will just enable the customization of vanilla features.

Nop, that cannot be done with any NBT tags and as said above this plugin will not add new features beyond the vanilla ones.

Posted Aug 1, 2013I know its not really NBT data, but is there any way you can add the ability to add potion effects to armor and such? We have been using your plugin to make shall we say unobtainable armor (especially with the item mod attribs) but I can't add jump boost to some boots I wanted to make. We have made a "bring your own gear" Mob dungeon with custom mobs from the BOS stuff and even disabled commands in the claim so no one can just get the good drops and tp out so the upgraded gear is a must!
I understand if this is something that you can't do, but it never hurts to ask right?
Thanks for the awesome plugin! We are enjoying it thoroughly! Its so funny to see someone go in to fight our mobs and come out with no armor or weapons....then you go in and find a zombie wearing their stuff. We are so evil! :P

Nop, that is not possible, villagers ignore item name and lore and is not possible to change that behavior with NBT tags. Other plugins may "fix" this problem but I don't know of any (it's not easily fixable with plugins).

Is it possible to make a villager, that can deal with customized items (custom Name and lore) only? Because I want to introduce a quest system with quest points and quest rewards, both should be items (blazepowder and magmacream) and should have a special name and description (or "lore"). But the villager also accepts the normal items without the names and lores ... is this a bug or is there any solution for this?

Just put the monster Bos in the dispenser like a normal item (arrow, fireball) and it will be like an infinite monster egg, it also works for stacked mobs, minecarts and entities. you do not need customItems.

This is possible in two ways:
1- You can put the Bos in a dispenser and activate this with redstone but this is not compatible with vanilla
2- Build a redstone spawner with minecartspawner spawner, lava and redstone but it's a little bit complicate:
