NBTEditor
NBTEditor allows easy customization of many aspects of Minecraft, through the modification of NBT tags, on Spigot and CraftBukkit servers. Creating custom potions and tools with powerful enchantments is as easy as running a few commands. And with the help of the Book of Souls, it's possible to create highly complex entities and spawners with ease.
Features include:
- Robust system to edit of all entities and spawners using a book based UI (Book of Souls);
- Conversion entities into '/summon' commands;
- Customization of items (name, lore, unbreakable, modifiers, colors on leather armor etc.);
- Item enchanting with no limits;
- Creation of custom potions;
- Conversion of items into '/give' commands;
- Tile customization (spawners, beacons, chests etc.);
- Conversion of tiles into '/setblock' commands;

Edit now, spawn later: The Book of Souls is most powerful feature of the NBTEditor, it allows for easy entity customization. Create bosses, custom villagers, flying creepers or anything you like. No data files, no one-time customization, just keep the book safe and you can spawn as many entities as you like.
Included is also an 'Item Storage' command to keep track of your Books of Souls and other edited items.
The variable system used by the NBTEditor ensures that only valid NBT changes are performed while providing a standard way to make those changes. Arbitrary NBT modifications are not possible.


All Items, Entities and Spawners are fully compatible with the Vanilla Minecraft!

Global Statistics
On version 2.0 the NBTEditor started using MCStats for usage statistics. MCStats is now offline.
Since version 3.0, bStats is used to gather general usage statistics. You can read here about bStats, what data is sent, and how to opt-out from sending statistics from your server.

Thanks, I'm glad you find my plugin useful.
1º. Minecraft does allow to assign a full chest to a falling sand entity (you can even assign fully working spawners, or any other tile entities, like beacons, furnaces etc). But no, with this plugin you can not yet create these.
2º. Yes, you can change existing blocks with FallingSand spawners, by carefully changing the BoS variables. These can be kind of hard to create with the NBTEditor because to do this you need very well timed spawners (and that is hard to do in-game because spawner's timers are always ticking down). I would suggest using SethBling's create structures filter. If you really want to do this with the NBTEditor you need:
(Seriously don't do any of these, just use the SethBling's filter.)
3º. I never tried to create a BoS for paintings and item frames, manly because they have some kind of obscure tags, that would be kind of a pain to configure individually. (But I guess that I could use the 'empty BoS' to clone existing paintings/itemframes and then put them on spawners. I have to look into that).
Sorry for all the negative answers, but the NBTEditor is still in Beta, I still have many features to add and Minecraft seams to never stop adding new NBT stuff. I'm trying to manage my time better and allocate more time to develop this.

Posted Jul 27, 2013Your plugin is awesome and useful but i have three questions: - is it possible to assign a chest full or an other container to the "falling block" ? - how to change an existing block with falling block spawner ? (i saw that was possible) - is it possible to create an item-frame and painting spawner as the map "slender's forest" ? thank you in advance for the answers and congratulations for this great plugin (sorry for my english i'm french)

You cannot set the strength (level) of the effect, but you can create a level 2 effect if you set both the primary and secondary to the same effect. (For the secondary effect work you need to have a level 4 pyramid, 9x9 base)

That health issue will fixed on the next version, there is a new tag for health. Also there is be an attribute to set the MaxHealth, that will make these mobs show the correct health bar when using health bar plugins.

That is a neat idea, I may add that in a future release.
Maybe a different type of BoS, that does not show all the variables, because they don't really need to be there, the plugin only needs the "Soul Data" pages to work..

As I want to set up a world of custom mob spawns in certain regions and was wanting to set about 15 spawners with range 40, spawning max-entities of 20-

Yah, there appears to so some problems.
I did not yet implement the mobs attributes, but I tested item modifiers, and they seem to disappear when taking the item out of a chest, etc.. Bummer.

Posted Jul 23, 2013Just a heads up it seems that custom health isn't working in 1.6.2. I'm using Spigot build 1036 and no matter what I set the mobs health to it still has it's vanilla health.

I was wondering if it would be possible to add a "disposable" one time use Book of souls and maybe a permission node to go along with using them at some point? It would be very cool to be able to give out custom BoS such as raid-bosses for members to find/buy and then fight.
Even if this can't be implemented, it is still one of my favorite plugins :D

Posted Jul 18, 2013Hello - fantastic plugin, although I am having an issue. My server updated to 1.6.2 and now certain potion effects aren't working. The Stregth potion effect seems to be working, though the speed potion effect is no longer working. I'm not sure if this is just me or what but yeah.

Posted Jul 15, 2013someone should make an add on for this that lets you add the custom mob books to the natural spawn list. that way the undead server staff books i have can actually kill people :D
