Movecraft
NOW MOVED TO SPIGOTMC, CHECK HERE FOR NEWER VERSIONS:
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/movecraft.31321/

A Brief Description
Movecraft is a plugin that has been designed to give purpose to those extremely large (and awesome) oceans as well as to simply give the option to Sail, Drive, or Pilot amazing Ships, Creations, or Zeppelins. It allows the player and/or players to craft Vessels out of blocks that can be piloted and thus moved. Hence the name MoveCraft.
Credit
Movecraft was first created by Yogoda for hMod.
Movecraft 3 is a complete recode. It's only similarity to the Movecraft of Yogada is it's name.
Documentation, Tutorials, Quick Start Guide, and Demo Videos
For documentation and information, use this link:

Also the builds on that site are more up to date than the builds on this site, so download the latest version there. Please be aware the builds on that site have not been checked by the dev.bukkit.org staff, so use at your own risk.
Here is a brief summary of Movecraft features covered on that site:
Control Method Options
- Sign and Pilot Tool
- Sign only
- Direct Control (the players movements control the craft)
- Misc Commands - /manoverboard, /release, etc
- Remote Signs to remotely activate command signs from other parts of the ship (Turn turrets, launch torpedoes, etc)
Craft Options
- Basic craft configuration options including size, speed, allowed block types, required blocks, etc
- Customizable Cruise Control to keep the craft moving forward
- Customizable Fuel Burning behavior
- Customizable sinking/crashing behavior including smoke, explosion on impact, and uncontrollable dives
- Restricting motion to horizontal or vertical planes
- Customizable "Hover" land contour following behavior for cars and surface vehicles
- Optional craft teleportation
- Require water contact for sailing ships and water craft
- Crafts that explode when they collide with things for ramming or torpedoes
- Repair signs to repair your ship, requires mats, and can require a fee
Server Options
- Customizable Pilot Tool for craft control (or you can disable it to force sign only movement)
- Man Overboard timeout to allow anyone who falls out of a craft to get back in it
- Configurable WorldGuard protection against moving into forbidden areas or sinking over protected areas
Permissions
Movecraft uses the following permissions:
movecraft.<craft name>.pilot
movecraft.<craft name>.move
movecraft.<craft name>.rotate
movecraft.<craft name>.repair
For example, if you have a craft named "Airship", you would need movecraft.Airship.pilot, movecraft.Airship.move, and movecraft.Airship.rotate in order to completely use it.
There is also:
movecraft.<craft name>.create - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.cruisesign - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.commands - grants access to /pilot, /cruise, /release, /rotateleft, /rotateright, /craftreport
You can also control these granularly with:
movecraft.commands.release
movecraft.commands.pilot
movecraft.commands.rotateleft
movecraft.commands.rotateright
movecraft.commands.cruise
movecraft.commands.craftreport
Dependencies
Movecraft does not require any other plugin to function, however certain features require additional plugins:
WorldEdit (>6.0) - For repair system
Vault - For payment system
In addition, the following plugins are supported for compatibility:
Cannons - Cannons will move with a piloted craft
WorldGuard - Region protection
Most common permission plugins - Assign permissions to various craft features

What if I'm on 1.8.7? Will that break my map or my crafts?
I mean, is it too risky or I can try it?

Posted Jul 1, 2015Ok, so on the lag issue: it seems that the "bukkit" method of placing blocks has become slower and slower over time. I think they have been adding various checks and precautions, although I am not certain of the exact problem.
But, anyway, the result is that while it used to be that the compatibilityMode method of placing blocks was only a little slower than the native version-specific calls, it is now MUCH slower. So, we need to be able to use native calls again. My development has been focusing on compatibilitymode, because it was more reliable. But now I need to get native mode working again.
To that end, I have been working on the native mode calls. It seems pretty solid at the moment, the one lingering problem is light pollution. I will probably get that fixed next week. This week I am working on the next episode of Minecraft Airship Pirates, so I don't have time.
If you want the new version with drastically less lag, you can download it from the github page here: https://github.com/msummers123/Movecraft-3 Please be aware that link is not checked by Dev.bukkit.org staff, so use at your own risk. Also, you need to be running Spigot 1.8.3, that is the version the native code can talk to.
EDIT: and obviously you need to set compatibilitMode to false

That error is due to an old version of worldguard. They changed their API and you need the new one for the integration to work.
@T_X_T
The most likely explanation is a craft file with some problems. Check your server log on bootup. You may find it saying there is a problem with a craft file when Movecraft boots up. If you post your latest.log to here: https://github.com/msummers123/Movecraft-3/issues I can probably tell you more about the problem.

Posted Jun 26, 2015Hi Loraxe42, I've followed this plugin since 2.0 as well as your videos for a long time, and I'm so happy about the latest anti-lag changes which will allow my users to finally have unrestricted craft building. :D
Is it possible to add support for PlotSquared, so users can build massive crafts in creative without the risk of flying crafts over to other plots or bombing them or whatever? One of our members would love to fly his Boeing 747 replica around his land!
Edit: Actually, a more pressing issue is this error message that's spammed in the console whenever I try to pilot something. Running Spigot 1.7.10.

Hey guys first things first awesome plugin keep up the great work love it....
Second (i know i am supposed to use ticket but i didn't want to create an account for github) So i apologize in advance for even speaking here.
I found a hug error code issue... happens when placing a sign on something that has to do with movecraft. or when i destroy a sign that had something to do with movecraft (ex: release and launch torpedo) , this is the same long error code i get for each action
I also realized that it mainly comes from Airskiff, anything to do with that causes errors.....the other work fine, subs airship etc... Also destroying signs in general connected to certain movecraft ships

Godsdead, did it actually work? I'm getting conflicting reports that it makes it worse in some cases.
I suspect it makes it better for people who aren't doing things other than movecraft, but worse for the actual people flying the ships. Can you confirm / comment?

you must add these custom flags to WGCustomFlags plugin:
all of them are signed as allow by default and yes, you can :)

We actually don't have a German localization, I think the language section is out of date. If you would be willing, you could open the
Movecraft\localisation\movecraftlang_en.properties file, add translations for German, and save it as movecraftlang_de.properties
Then find find the config.yml file in the Movecraft directory.
One of the options you will see is:
Locale: en
Change that to:
Locale: de
If you could get me that file with those translations, I can add it to the official release so any future German users can use it.
If you aren't able / willing, let me know and I'll just correct the languages section on this website.

Posted Jun 17, 2015I have posted Movecraft 4.0. Here is a list of the new changes:
Major rewrite of how the core map updater functions. It now sends updates in batches, resulting in a major reduction in server lag. In short, large laggy ships slow themselves down instead of the whole server.
Turning now costs fuel
Going down 1 block at a time no longer costs fuel
It will not burn an entire stack of fuel at once anymore if the last piece of fuel from a difference stack is burned
You can more easily walk around a moving airship (but it is far from perfect, use at your own risk)
Logging out or crashing your client while cruising will no longer destroy your ship
Towny integration, worldguard custom flags integration (Thanks mwkaicz!). You may use the following new config.yml options to control this:
WGCustomFlagsUsePilotFlag: false
WGCustomFlagsUseMoveFlag: false
WGCustomFlagsUseRotateFlag: false
WGCustomFlagsUseSinkFlag: false
TownyBlockMoveOnSwitchPerm: false
TownyBlockSinkOnNoPVP: false
TownyWorldHeightLimits:
world:
worldMin: -1
worldMax: -1
aboveTownSpawn: 96
underTownSpawn: 255

So, to be clear, the number of craft files is irrelevant to how much processing Movecraft consumes. What matters is the number of moving crafts at once.

Ok this is great you are working on the issues! Its getting terrible, even with 2 craft files its using 26% of all server resources! Its not just 1.8.7, anything over 1.8.3 was causing immense server resource destruction! We need to keep the server updated, reverting the server version isn't really a fix. I will change my craft files for now until this version 4 is out, see if I can reclaim some TPS. I ran a 3-4 min timings report while the server was in 3-5tps area, this is another snippet just in case it helps you :)

I am currently working on Movecraft 4.0, which includes a major revamping of the core map updater to make it interrupt server processing less. IE: much less lag. Whether or not this fixes any issues with 1.8.7 I couldn't say.
But its a big undertaking and it is taking a while. Probably another week or so until I get it right.
EDIT: Personally, unless your server is frequented by griefers trying to crash it with the one unicode bug they found, I wouldn't use 1.8.7 if you are having problems with it.

Hey man, I have craft files for Verticle torpedos (up and down) as well as diagonal up and down, I'd be happy to share them with you so you have a idea of a working craft file setup for this type of thing.
Email me @ Loganpclayton@gmail.com I'll send em on over when I can.

Correct, set cruiseskipblocks to -1. It's wierd, but it works. Remember that cruiseskipblocks is how many blocks to skip, not how many to move. So your ship moves that number +1 on each cruise tick.
@kiritoshigure
Remove any craft files from the types directory that you don't want to use. You could also disable permissions.
@CaptainGibbonSr
I did, and that is a common request. It's on the list, although it may be a while.
