Minigames

== NOTICE == 9 Aug 2016 ==
As most of you have already worked out, public support for this project has been non existent. Unfortunately with the workload of trying to manage and run a server network where minigames is only 1 out of what feels like 1000 projects we maintain... It gets hard trying to find time to help everyone.
But fear not this project is indeed not abandoned! We have moved the project to SpigotMC:
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/minigames.19687/
++Update Note Aug 2017++
Please Note I have provided updated downloads for all versions back to 1.7 .. We are trying to get some idea of what versions people are running still and what we need to focus on...updating will help us target our product improvements.
The files section contains various version downloads OR you can dowload them : - here
Minigames is a plugin in which users can create and play several types of Minigames on a server, without the risk of losing items or XP when they die. Players can also use checkpoints so when they die, they are reverted back to that position.
The Possible Minigame types are:
- Single Player - for jump puzzles, mazes etc.
- Last Man Standing - A multiplayer Free for All (FFA) PvP Minigame
- Race - A Multiplayer race Minigame
- Team Deathmatch - A deathmatch round against 2 teams, first to a defined score wins!
- Deathmatch - A free for all deathmatch round against any predefined amount of players, first to a defined score wins!
- Spleef - Its possible to create custom Spleef arenas, as well as your standard spleef arena.
- Treasure Hunt - A global treasure finding Minigame that is always running
- CTF - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame.
- Infection - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame where the infected players must kill all survivors.
Features:
- Prizes for completing a Minigame
- Economy support (Requires Vault)
- All command configuration for creating Minigames
- Completely customisable, lots of settings to create your own styled Minigame.
- Ability to create multiple loadouts
- Inventory saving
- XP saving
- Minigame regeneration (slightly limited)
- Timers
- An automated update checker for OP's (Can be turned off in the main config by setting updateChecker to false)
- SQL completion data storage for websites or more informative data (Requires SQLibrary)
- And lots more!
Click here for videos of this plugin in action.
Purpose:
Minigames was created for players to play games within a server and win prizes for completion, also to let players play PvP games without the risk of losing their hard earned items and XP. Minigames also reward players for completing each Minigame, or with PvP Minigames, the player can be rewarded with 'bets' that players make before they start the Minigame. These bets can be in Economy money or preset items.
These Minigames can be created in any style the player wishes, for example, parkour jump puzzles, mazes and treasure hunts. As well as PvP games like CTF, races and more. You are given a lot of options to add to each Minigame individually, so they are all completely customisable.

Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- And the amount of players playing games. Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

If you're getting lag when the floor regenerates, then it may be because of lighting updates. The only reason I made it so the player has to die is because I didn't want to introduce more lag causing code, like you said, a player touching a specific block. The only way to detect that is to check if they touch it every time they move. I suggest using world guard to kill players if you're suffering lighting lag.
@FuRiouSOne
That error, looks like my web server went down, I should probably add a check for that. It shouldn't cause any harm though. Also by the sounds of it, you may not have enough ram on your server. Adding team colours is hacky, and it causes a bit of client lag when you respawn. But if its causing your whole server to lag, it may be because of tagAPI (not sure) or lack of ram.

I have mine set to the players falls to their death hitting bedrock but may be an issue with mcmmo acrobatics...
Also like to ask is there an issue whit tdm and using tagAPI with name tag colors? I enabled tdm arena to try it out and noticed a tone of lag spike client side and even a server freeze up forcing me to restart.
http://pastebin.com/4eGknTti Got this error and noticed protocol in it, would that have something to do with protocalLib (which i do not run).

I switched to using the void, though I may try the world guard flags.

Posted Feb 4, 2013Notice quit of bit of lag after a spleef game has finished and a lot of the floor needs to regenerate. Any way to reduce the lag?
Also The player must die to lose? Any way to add in if player hits a "block" they lose in LMS? I have using lava pits as mass lava can be laggy on its own.

Both of you have a floor degenerator correct? You may be experiencing an error that stops the Minigame from "Ending", letting the floor degenerator continue. If you can provide any logs and the Minigame configs on the tickets page that would be most helpful!

I can confirm this bug too. I just replace the floor when it happens and it stops. But sometimes it keeps on happening shortly after replacing the floor. (Snow block floors that is)

Ok, add the flag heal-amount using a negative value, and heal-delay to something like 1. Heal areas can be used to kill players.
@LiLChris06
Thats the best way to save the Minigames, on shutdown or enabling. I would have made it save each time you used a command but I don't think thats very efficient on the server.
@datacrypt
I shall look into that one!

Yup, reported that issue earlier.
Also if you try to change the config/minigames while the server is running then shutdown it gets overwritten as if its saved in memory and dumps it back to the files while shutting down.
What I had to do was shutdown the server, save all the files, then start up.

I am experiencing loss of information on Treasure hunt's... Once you setup a hunt and reboot (or check the configs) it doesnt seem to have the most up to date settings that were input via the in-game commands.
