ClearLagg

Clearlag was designed to reduce lagg on Bukkit/Spigot servers by removing entities, and preventing it through it's many optional features. Of course this plugin can't fix all lag, but it does clear most of it. If your using a larger server with 20+ players, simply using the /lagg clear command can drastically decrease RAM/CPU usage by simply removing your configured entities.

- Permission support
- Entity limiter
- Reduces lag
- Decreasing RAM/CPU usage
- Ability to stop a TNT chain reaction
- Option to limit mob spawners
- Locate overcrowded/abused chunks
- Many easy to use commands
- Real-time module controls
- Very lightweight - only enables selected features
- Remove old logs upon enabling server
- Limit AI processing attributes
- Console support for most commands
- Can adjust times when the server is cleared of lagg
- Completely configurable

Using Spigot is by far the way forward now. Can you also add in the update that Armor Stands are not living entities, I think this was the issue I was having with the entity spiking.
Can you add in the config the option to not remove armor stands when doing /lagg area please.
Thanks.

Posted Jan 27, 2015Also - I plan on using NMS in the future seeing as minecrafts versions are beginning to slow. This will allow me to use "hidden" code so to speak, in order to massively reduce CPU cycles and pathfinders. Minecraft/Bukkit IO procedures are most likely not going to be effected.

Clearlag shouldn't modify spawn rates at all unless you have the spawner enabled.
- Anywho, a new update will be release within this week hopefully. I'm still thinking about using spigot as a new source for 1.8+ builds of clearlag. That way anyone using 1.8 builds will ask for help on SPIGOT rather then on here.

I agree, clearlagg is causing issues. I had over 1000 mobs outside spawn, pigs, cows & sheep spawning everywhere, it was literally a sea of mobs.

Posted Jan 27, 2015I am having an issue with Entity spiking, I've been using ClearLagg alongside a plugin by filoghost called FarmLimiter now to limit mobs, but then I had a massive rise in Entities in certain areas today with Amor Stands, I think this is the issue.
After unloading unused chunks then clearing entities out, the server entity number jumped up to around 8,000 from 1.8k.
The FarmLimiter plugin has been working great for months, only recently it has been showing this in the console - http://pastebin.com/qnWwEYSc
This might be related to the Entity issues.

Posted Jan 26, 2015I get the impression this needs some "intelligence", some kind of rule to determine if an entity should be removed based on some measure of its value vs its contribution to lag. Items where there's only one of them in a chunk are probably valuable, vs 30+ entities are probably just dirt drops or spam.
If this is to be useful on modded servers it may need extra installation tools to help detect and auto- configure for non-standard mobs/items.

I have no idea. Maybe a plugin with a memory leak. Clearlag removes instances from memory, it doesn't create.

nope, and to be honest since moving to spigot 1.8 of our 5GB memory, sometimes it only needs to allocate 800mb! If we are busy it just adjusts up, but don't think we ever have 4GB allocated now at all!

Then what caused the RAM issue?... I used to use only 2 GB before installing clearlagg. Otherwise, it helped me a lot.

Clearlag doesn't store much in memory so i highly doubt it's causing the issue.

Posted Jan 23, 2015Does anybody have problems with RAM caused by ClearLagg? On my server, I had problems with too many entities lagging the server so I installed ClearLagg. It solved the problem partially but now the server uses a lot more RAM than it used to. For instance, every day the server eats 5 GB more. Before installing ClearLagg, the server could run for 2 weeks with only using 2 GB, at the same number of players.
