ZombieInsanity
ZOMBIE INSANITY
Quick Description
This is a MineZ-like plugin that mostly enhances zombie survival servers. This plugin provides a thirst feature, visibility feature, and configurable potion effects zombies can inflict when they bite. There are several more features, and you can check them out below.
I WILL NO LONGER BE UPDATING THIS PLUGIN. Updating the plugin is up to whoever else. If you download it, the source code is in the .jar file. I have moved on to a more important (to me) project.
Features
Current Features:
- - All features listed can be turned off in config
- - Disabling other mobs from spawning
- - Make zombies spawn in place of other spawns
- - Cause potion effects to people/villagers damaged by zombies
- - Random chance for zombies to spawn with helpful potion effects (resistance, strength, etc)
- - More specific options for forcing zombie spawns
- - Thirst bar
- - Visibility levels
- - Resistance (non-fire) ability for zombie spawns
- - People in creative do not lose thirst
- - Chance that you experience bite effects
Problems/Help
NEW for 1.2.4!
THE NEW .JAR REQUIRES THAT YOU DELETE YOUR OLD CONFIG & SETTINGS AND RELOAD YOUR SERVER!
I changed up the config again (sorry), but I think you will find it much easier to use.
For help setting up the .yml file:
- Configuration: Go to page

Posted Jul 18, 2012Got another suggestion that would be really nice to have. Could you add a command that sets your thirst level to 20? (kind of like /heal)
ex. /thirst or /drink
Thanks!

Posted Jul 17, 2012I have a problem, it's not severe, but very annoying. Admins and architects lose water and when they go into survival they start dieing. If this could be turned of by gamemode, or a permisions node that would be great! Sorry about your laggy visit, as the night goes on my laptop starts to overheat.

Posted Jul 17, 2012lol, I can't wait for multiworld support! I would like it to have an option in the config for there to be certain worlds where this plugin takes effect. Nice work!

Thank you for this explanation. I personally had no problems but I think this is good, and I like to know how it's working!

the visibility is dependent on several factors. let me explain with more depth: Each factor adds or subtracts visibility.
we start at visibility 4.
if... sneaking -1 sprinting +1 in tall grass -1 in a "good" biome -1 in a "bad" biome +1 storming -1 health below certain point +1
Then I take the number I get from that divided by 8 (max possible value) this percentage is how full the EXP bar is. if the value is less than .25, visibility is LOW if the value is less than .65 visibility is MEDIUM anything higher than .65 visibility is HIGH
you can set the range at which you are seen at each level in the config.
hope this answered some questions. And more depth than "seems broken" is required for me to fix anything, I tested it out and it worked fine. thank you for the feedback and questions!
I will put the snowball thing on my planned features list.

Posted Jul 16, 2012Could you add chance to the effects? It's annoying that it happens every single bite.

Additionally, making it so that snowballs that are thrown distract zombies for you at the spot which the snowballs break (Basically sets their detection radius to 1-2 blocks)
Also - Is the 'low' setting walking and the 'medium' setting sprinting? Or is 'low' sneaking and 'medium' walking, because then their is no sprint distance pickup :D

Posted Jul 14, 2012Would you be ever so kind to add a configurable amount of thirst lowered when drinking water?
example
drinking: 5 #reduces thirst by 5

Sometimes I think my towns and villages are too close, but that encourages PVP so it's quite good

That is the one I want most aswell unfortunately. People can easily just walk past them and wait it out until morning. Being infected makes it more challenging, but they can still avoid them easily enough..

The construction of towns is up to my staff, we extend the map and add more towns as we go. We have a small "city" in the corner that we're still building off of.

Posted Jul 13, 2012To all people: I got the visibility GUI working yesterday. The EXP bar, if visibility is enabled, will tell you how "visible" you are based on your movement speed, biome, health, and weather. I think I am forgetting 1 or 2 lol, you will find out soon enough :P
@Adzwoolly
that little bugger is the reason my next update is taking so long. I want to make it so that when you are with more people, you attract more zombies. I am getting irritating bugs and glitches with that....may not be released with the rest of the visibility update.
