Also thanks to IMathe172I (Lang Lukas) for contributing code to support elliptic and rectangular border shapes, and Indiv0 for contributing code to support border wrapping.
Description
This plugin is intended to efficiently provide a border for each of your worlds, which only people granted special bypass access are allowed beyond. These borders can be round/elliptic or square/rectangular. As the plugin has been written with performance as the most important goal, it should have no performance impact on your server. Additional world trimming and filling commands are available as well.
Older plugins which originally inspired the creation of this one: rBorder and BorderGuard.
Features
- You can set up a separate border for each world, but only one border per world.
- You can have either round/elliptic or square/rectangular borders. Square/rectangular borders are slightly higher performance, round/elliptic borders make for nicer display maps. Different worlds can have different border shapes if you so choose.
- Configuration and border setup is done completely using commands in-game or through the server console. No need to ever edit the config file directly.
- Support for all permission plugins which interface with Bukkit's built-in "superperms" permission system.
- You can fully generate (fill) your world all the way to the border, filling in any missing chunks, including a configurable buffer zone just outside your border.
- You can trim off any world chunks beyond the border, getting rid of extraneous parts, with a configurable buffer zone left just outside your border.
- You can use a bypass command to allow specific players to go beyond all borders.
- Borders can be automatically displayed in DynMap if you use that plugin.
- All plugin data is automatically saved whenever any borders or settings are changed.
- If a player crosses a border while in a vehicle, the momentum of the vehicle is stopped and it is moved back inside the border with the player.
- When a player is moved back inside a border, they will be moved to a safe vertical location if needed.
- Borders for specific worlds can be set to wrap around instead of just knocking back players who cross the border, instead sending them to the opposite edge of the border.

Of special interest are the Fill command and the Trim command features:

Borders are also displayed automatically by default in DynMap if you have it:

What response did you expect to your post? I've no interest in debating with a troll, so don't expect any further response to any of your posts.

I never said this issue was caused by Spigot. It's due to changes in Bukkit/CraftBukkit which I'm needing to adjust my code to account for.
If you are making a supposed "stable" version of Spigot based on a dev version of Bukkit/CraftBukkit which still has problems, is not well tested, and is not even considered Beta, then that does certainly seem a bit careless to me. If you're not releasing it as "stable", which you may well not be, then that's not the case. The user below and others seem to be considering it as stable. I don't follow Spigot, so I don't personally know.

BukkitDev has the policy of not allowing links to file downloads which aren't hosted directly on BukkitDev, sorry. If I posted it they'd just take the link down. It's a safety precaution on their part to make sure they can review all download links for potential malicious code. It's annoying, but fairly understandable.

So the people behind Spigot don't mind game breaking and server breaking bugs; good thing I don't officially support Spigot.
Hi creator and lead developer of Spigot here! Before implying that I don't care about my code or the tens of thousands of servers who depend on its quality each and every day, can you please explain the issue clearly an concisely, so that we may fix it regardless of whether it is a CraftBukkit or Spigot issue. Simply pointing the finger at me and calling me careless is disheartening, especially given the "horses appear to cross borders", which I assume is the bug, is really either an issue with your code, or the upstream CraftBukkit code.
Thanks md_5

Thanks for getting it quickly done for all bukkit users, appreciate it.
You mind giving us the download link before approval?
Thanks again! Keep up the good work.

Rather than driving me to hurry up and fix it with my largely nonexistent free time, what you're actually accomplishing is driving me further towards wanting to simply drop support for this 100% free plugin so I don't have to deal with self-entitled fuckwits like you. You haven't paid me anything for this plugin, I owe you nothing.
@hewdaily
Thanks. I spent a few minutes testing and working on it yesterday and I'll probably have time to finish a fix for release within the next few hours. Of course it will then be a while for the BukkitDev team to approve it.

Thanks for the info, man - it's always good to hear from developers of the plugins I use. Hopefully you get some time to work on this as I'm sure this can't be your sole purpose for living ;) (screw mobilephone2003)

Posted Jul 3, 2013For all those with the boat/horse issue - disable the knockback on the border. Yes, this let's people past, but give warning that the area will be wiped and run a trim after a fix is released and the problem is solved for now, spamming the author will do no good.
Thanks for looking into it, @Brettflan

Posted Jul 3, 2013@ALL YES, boats and horses crossing the border are reported to cause problems in the bleeding edge dev builds of CraftBukkit. You'll just have to wait for me to investigate and release an update. No need for further reports as you're wasting your own time and mine as well.

That's what I though too but the seed changed 100%. Current one was: 588854911 and the seed which I created the map was 1330422380

You shouldn't need to do anything related to the seed on an existing world; the seed for each world is stored in its level.dat file.

Yes I did /seed ingame then I put that seed exactly in the server.properties. Or must I put it somewhere else?
Edit: Sigh I fixed it, apparently my seed changed so I had to edit my servers seed and put the old one in.

You are sure it has the same seed? As far as I know it should normally be seamless between Minecraft versions, but with changes in the terrain generator you can never be sure.

Posted Jul 3, 2013I have a problem which I'm not sure how to solve. I generated the world we have now on 1.3. I installed 1.6.1 today and I expanded the border and I "fill"ed it. However, despite having the same seed the world isn't seamless at all. Is there a way to make it seamless (like the biomes actually overlap and continue)
Ps. Brett thanks for the great plugin I will donate to you soon.

Patience much? I just repeated below your post that I'll look into that soon, and CraftBukkit isn't even likely close to coming out with a Beta release with horses implemented.
As the saying goes, if you're on the bleeding edge, expect to be cut. If you're running a dev build of CraftBukkit which isn't even Beta quality (let alone full Release quality) you should fully expect to run into problems.
