Description
This plugin is intended to efficiently provide a border for each of your worlds, which only people granted special bypass access are allowed beyond. These borders can be round/elliptic or square/rectangular. As the plugin has been written with performance as the most important goal, it should have no performance impact on your server. Additional world trimming and filling commands are available as well.
Older plugins which originally inspired the creation of this one: rBorder and BorderGuard.
Features
- You can set up a separate border for each world, but only one border per world.
- You can have either round/elliptic or square/rectangular borders. Square/rectangular borders are slightly higher performance, round/elliptic borders make for nicer display maps. Different worlds can have different border shapes if you so choose.
- Configuration and border setup is done completely using commands in-game or through the server console. No need to ever edit the config file directly.
- Support for all permission plugins which interface with Bukkit's built-in "superperms" permission system.
- You can fully generate (fill) your world all the way to the border, filling in any missing chunks, including a configurable buffer zone just outside your border.
- You can trim off any world chunks beyond the border, getting rid of extraneous parts, with a configurable buffer zone left just outside your border.
- You can use a bypass command to allow specific players to go beyond all borders.
- Borders can be automatically displayed in DynMap if you use that plugin.
- All plugin data is automatically saved whenever any borders or settings are changed.
- If a player crosses a border while in a vehicle, the momentum of the vehicle is stopped and it is moved back inside the border with the player.
- When a player is moved back inside a border, they will be moved to a safe vertical location if needed.
- Borders for specific worlds can be set to wrap around instead of just knocking back players who cross the border, instead sending them to the opposite edge of the border.

Of special interest are the Fill command and the Trim command features:

Borders are also displayed automatically by default in DynMap if you have it:

The world will be the basically same since it's the same seed, except any new features in the newer Minecraft version will be available in those chunks when they're generated again.

my aim was: our existing map to trim and then to discover a new world, after apear a new mc version.

That sounds normal. What is confusing you? Trimmed chunks can of course be regenerated afterwards by the server if a player gets close enough, or if something else (such as the Fill command) generates them. Anything which had been changed or built by players will of course be lost in those chunks that were Trimmed.

Posted Jul 2, 2013World not trim with WorldBorder works???
Hello people, I just do not understand. Now I have installed World Border, The world narrowed to about 400 blocks and everything behind it as World Border trimmed with the commands: /wb world trim and then confirmed again. Then a while later and says he is ready to 100%. When I look at the folder in the world, almost all the regions have been cleared and 100 Mb of degrees times are still so about 20 MB above.
The map outside this limit is therefore deleted.
If I now go beyond the limits it generates me smooth the entire world as it was before. the Village is again in the same place, the huge mountain is back and and and and. How can that be?

Your case is certainly unusual. Refer back to the ticket.

Posted Jun 29, 2013Hi, any chance the plugin can be updated so that players can't generate additional terrain past the borders? I left a ticked regarding the issue.

Not planned, sorry. It should be simple enough for you to set the border at your current location to the desired radius and run the fill command with 0 padding specified. If you already have a border in that world, just note down the position and radius for it and set it back again after the Fill completes.

Posted Jun 29, 2013Any chance that you might add parameters to the fill command to let you generate all missing chucks from your current location out to a specified radius?

The reported number of chunks trimmed doesn't differentiate chunks which didn't exist but were outside the border. As the notes on Trimming say, you'll need to completely restart your server and then run a fullrender in dynmap to make it properly show the trimmed chunks as being gone.

Posted Jun 28, 2013Hi, I am using Worldborder on a big scale (Its a 10000 rayon circle).
The thing is what trimming wont seem to delete the extra chunks that were generated.
I keep getting: 0 entire regions and xxxxx (Around 20.000 or 40.000) individual chunks trimmed so far.
But when its done and I redo the trim it keeps on deleting more individual chunks. I think the trim only takes 10 seconds and deletes around 200.000 individual chunks then its 100%.
I just cant see a change on the dynmap and when I redo the trim I deletes more individual chunks ...
Whats up with this ? How can I show the trim on my dynmap ?

Borders do need to be set for each new world. If you have another plugin which can send server commands you can use that to set them; the command doesn't need to be used by a player.
@DrMadFellow
You're welcome.
@Server_Consulting
The standard CraftBukkit server handles it as a separate world. Nonstandard Bukkit builds are not officially supported, sorry.

Posted Jun 27, 2013Hi, is it possible to config this plugin to set automaticaly the size of newly created world, or do I need whenever is new world created to set it manualy? We host "galacticraft" minecraft server and every player can travel to space and in the space he/she can build his/her own spacestation. But that spacestation is created as a new world (named SPACESTATION1, SPACESTATION2, etc.) and we want to set wborder for this station to 100*100 blocks (100 players = 100 stations; it´ll be crazy to go to every of this world and set the wborder...) Thanks for reply or any suggestions!

Depends on the cause of the lag. If it's from people wandering far out and generating new chunks, then yes. Otherwise it won't.
