Overview
VoxelSniper is the premier long range map editing tool for Minecraft. This mod allows you to edit any block that you can see using an arrow (for replacing) and a gunpowder (for adding). It is best used by those with a strong attention to detail and fits a wide array of applications, from making detailed edits to structures with the snipe brush, to making massive terraforming jobs a breeze with some of the earth shattering soft selection tools.
Metrics
This plugin utilises Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- The number of Snipers/LiteSnipers online
- The number of times Brushes are used
Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

Checked? Malicious Code? Ahahahahah, bwaahahahaha, hahahahah, phaaaaahaaahaaha
Oh, that's a good one.
Here, let me show you something:
^ That is straight out of Curse's Terms of Service.
We don't really like Curse's Terms of Service.
Hence! 3'rd party software that installs our server plugins.

I'm pretty sure that your plugins need to be uploaded to dev.bukkit.org so they can be checked for malicious code, rather than you getting users to use a plugin that fetches updates from external sources which have not been checked for malicious material.

That sounds great. Almost all I do on Minecraft is make things with VoxelSniper, so finding new brushes that don't work and/or are completely undocumented makes it difficult to experience the plugin's features to the fullest, so hopefully, a lot of these things will be documented/fully implemented soon. :D Thanks for the response.

Sorry to hear that you have problems with some of our Brushes. We're currently in the process of revamping the Product for a more fluent production. We're also aware that a lot of documentation needs to be written or rewritten.
So you can expect documentation rewrites all over the place soon'ish.

Posted Sep 6, 2012When can we expect thorough documentation of brushes that exist but aren't documented? Specifically, I'm speaking of the biome brush. Ever since the way biomes are determined and stored was changed a while back, I have been literally dying for VoxelSniper to include a brush for painting biomes! Using WorldEdit to change biomes is such a drag, because to get any good shape, it would take hours.
I can't, for the life of me, figure out how the biome brush works. I figured out how to set the biome (/b biome <BIOME> (biome in all caps, eg. HELL, JUNGLE)), but I don't know how to use it, or if it can even be used. The VoxelSniper wiki page doesn't have a single thing about it, and the documentation page at http://voxelwiki.com/minecraft/Documentation_of_Everything#VoxelSniper doesn't say a single thing about it, either. Kinda bummed, as I am just itching to be able to paint biomes with a brush.

It opened the file in notepad which makes it look like this and there are a lack of A letters :
#dd your items in here (When dding your entry DO NOT include #!)#The formt is:#NME:ID#Defult Items:ir:0rock:1stone:1grss and so on..
Manually opening in wordpad makes it look like yours. Hence my confusion and unwillingness to attempt to decode the mess I was seeing. I will venture into it in wordpad now that it isn't confusing to look at and follow your example and use letter A's.
Thanks for putting the example up.

I still don't get what the problem here is, but items.txt likely couldn't be simpler to edit than it already is... Unless maybe if I made a small GUI application that appended the file for you..
One item per line;
^ All valid entries of items.txt
Just add what you need ...

I think I found my issue. BukkitGUI plugins tab only has an older version of VoxelUpdate, I guess that was the whole issue? First time running into this kind of issue with the GUI tab. Manually doing things on my end, I am sure that's my main problem of them having an old version of Sniper in Update thats also outdated? Sorry to bother. I had assumed the GUI pulled its plugin sources directly from bukkit.org!

I didn't understand half of your response, but you can easily edit the items.txt to add / remove / modify any names you desire.
For example in The VoxelBox's main Texture pack, Palceon, redstone ore block is re-textured as to resemble copper piping. Thus we have an entry for "copper" inside the items.txt and it is assigned to w/e ID redstone ore is.

Posted Sep 3, 2012First of all thanks for a reply.
Can I ask why the different flavors of blocks aren't in the item.txt to start? Big fan of out of the box and done plugins. I can see why you wouldn't want lava but is jungle and pine wood that bad?
Off to #dd to the list mnully..

First of all, the software is called "VoxelSniper" or in short "Sniper".
And second of all, not only does Sniper support any and all combinations of block types and data values, but in fact it goes a step further and allows you to use special combinations that are normally non-existent or impossible to create by 'regular' means.
