Simple Invisibility

Simple Invisibility

The invisibility module provided offers a robust, yet simple way to handle invisibility for servers. Features include the following:

- hidden players are hidden from being targeted by Simply Modular commands

- hidden players do not show up in /list, or <tab>

- The module allows for multiple tiers of invisibility and detection strength. Allow your moderators to be hidden from players, but not you or other administrators!

- automatically set a players invisibility level by group, or have their invisibility level manually

Hiding

To hide yourself, there are two ways to do this. First, you can type /hide. Alternatively, you can use the fakehide command, which issues a message to the rest of the server indicating you have either left (if you are hiding) or are logging in (if you are unhiding). The fakehide command defaults to /fakehide, but may be changed by modifying the fakeHideAlias in 'invisibility.yml' in the root folder for the plugin.

Invisibility Level

The invisibility level allows for discretion and order to who is hidden and who is not, when you /hide. The logic is as follows: If your invisibility level is greater than another players invisibility level, they cannot see you while you're hidden. If your invis level is equal to, or lesser than their invisibility, they can see you. This allows for the moderator team, which realistically should all have the same invisibility level, to be able to see each-other, while being able to be hidden from the rest of the server, while also not being able to hide from the admins, while allowing the admins to hide from them, should the need arise.

Modifying Invisibility Level

The invisibility level, by default, is defined by the group that the player is in. However, it is possible to manually set the invisibility level of a specific player. You can do this by using the /setinvislevel command. Manually setting the invisibility level will force a players invisibility level to stay the same, even if their group changes. If you need to make sure that the invisibility level defaults back to the group settings, you can use the default invis level command. By default, the command is /defaultinvislevel, but can be modified by the defaultInvisLevelAlias in the 'invisibility.yml' file in the root folder for the plugin.

Invisibility and Logging

When a player logs in/out, or toggles invisiblity, it will alert those players that can still see them that the player has either left or joined silently, or has hidden or shown themselves.

If a player is invisible, and their group has changed, or invisibility level has changed, the module will automatically re-check for invisibility.
