Shopkeepers

Set up custom villager shopkeepers that sell exactly what you want them to sell and for what price. You can set up admin shops, which have infinite supply, and you can also set up player shops, which pull supply from a chest.
It will also prevent any other trades with non-shopkeeper villagers, if you want it to.
For those who are simply looking for a convenient way to modify the trades of vanilla villagers (as an alternative to using complex Minecraft commands), the plugin also includes a graphical editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
Basic Features
- Easily create villager shopkeepers that trade the items you want them to trade.
- Admins shops with infinite supplies.
- Player shops which pull supplies from a chest.
- Different types of player shops: selling, buying, trading, and selling books.
- Various supported mob types to represent your shopkeeper, sign shops, and Citizens (NPC) shops.
- Editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
- Many configuration options.
- Translatable messages.
- Open source (Source code on GitHub)
Supported server versions
Shopkeepers supports the latest versions of Bukkit / Spigot.
Note that this plugin is created to work with CraftBukkit (or alternatively Spigot). Bukkit does not have an API for some of the things necessary to make this plugin work. This means that other server software (Tekkit, Forge, Cauldron, etc.) will not work with this plugin.
Other CraftBukkit or Spigot derivatives/forks might work, but are not officially supported. So if you run into issues while using those, try to reproduce your issue on a fresh and up-to-date Spigot server first.

Statistics
This plugin uses bStats to collect anonymous plugin usage statistics. This helps me to determine how many servers are using the plugin, which Minecraft versions it is used with the most, and to which degree the different features are used.
Here is a list of all currently tracked information:
- Common information: The number of servers using the plugin, the number of players on these servers, online mode, Minecraft version, plugin version, core count, system arch, operating system, server country, Java version.
- Shopkeepers specific information: Whether specific related plugins are used (Citizens, Towny, WorldGuard, Gringotts, other Vault economy plugins), number of shops, whether player shops are used, whether certain features are enabled in the config (ex. WorldGuard/Towny compatibility, Citizens shops, delayed saves, colored names, chest protection, removal of inactive shops, tax rate, strict item comparison, purchase logging, disabling of other villagers, ..), the number of worlds containing shops.
- All information can be publicly viewed here: https://bstats.org/plugin/bukkit/Shopkeepers/
If you want to disable bStats for all plugins on your server, edit the file plugins/bStats/config.yml, or alternatively disable it only for Shopkeepers by setting 'enable-metrics' to 'false' inside the Shopkeepers config.

Strange, the same occurs to me. I am unable to replicate the error on my local host. But when I add it to the server this error does occur.
Both are running the same spigot version, the only differences are that the local host is Java 8 & the server Java 7 & that the server runs Lily Pad.
Should be noted that the GUI does change, but then causes the client to crash straight after switching to the second trade.

I need more information in order to be able to reproduce this.
I installed the newest spigot build on my test server, set up a quick admin shopkeeper, added 2 trade and I don't get that error when switch back and forth between the trades.

Well, I currently assume that some other plugin might block the villager creation..
The only cases I see in which shopkeepers cancles interaction with the villager egg are:
You might want to try it quickly on a fresh server, with no other plugins interfering.

For me it says 'click chest first' but then places a normal villager nevertheless.

I have added your video to the main page. Thanks!
@AshvaleStaff
Yeah, I agree that the current form of shop hiring isn't really useful for your use case. However, I feel like this should be some different sort of 'hiring'.
This ticket seems to be related.
However, I haven't found the time yet to look into that.

Posted Feb 6, 2015Works perfectly, thank you!
If I could suggest one more feature update, it would be great to have a toggled option in the config that allows us to make it so that:
If a player has rented a shop, when they choose the delete option, instead of deleting the store entirely it reverts it back to the 'For Hire' status with the original cost.
This would prevent admins having to go their marketplace and replace by hand all the shops players have deleted.
But other than that this is definitely the best plugin for player-shops that's available, thanks for making it!

Whoops, going to upload a fix now. Sorry for that.
Edit:
v1.45.1 for MC 1.6.2, 1.7.x, 1.8.x
Also please take a look at the changelogs of the versions since v1.20 for all not yet fully documented changes!

I tried creating a shopkeeper using that method and my server crashed, producing this error log: http://pastebin.com/s6sqQbAx
The crash occurred when my player attempted to hire the shopkeeper.
Here's my config if relevant; http://pastebin.com/zFMB1RVK
Again thanks for the speedy response.

Only player shopkeepers can be set for hire currently.
You have to use the shop creation item (villager egg by default) for creating the shop, otherwise (with the command) you are creating an admin shopkeeper (which doesn't require a chest by the way).

Posted Feb 5, 2015Thanks for the speedy response, unfortunately in the new version hiring seems to be broken.
I place a chest down, type /shopkeeper on it and the Villager spawns above like normal, but when I type /shopkeeper setforhire
"No shopkeeper is using this chest".
When I break the chest the villagers remain there and retain their shopkeeper menu, in the last version they disappeared when the chest was broken.

Posted Feb 4, 2015Am I able to restrict the amount of shops players can hire? We've tried everything and my players can still hire a seemingly unlimited amount of shops.
Neither of these options work for hiring;
max-shops-per-player: 1 max-shops-perm-options: 1, 5,15,25,500 (with perm node shopkeeper.maxshops.1)
Even tried removing shopkeeper.maxshops.5 through to .500 from players.
I really want to make a marketplace where players can hire a Shopkeeper but it won't work if they can hire multiple.
Thank you!

You have to change the mob type of the citizens shopkeeper via citizens.
