Shopkeepers

Set up custom villager shopkeepers that sell exactly what you want them to sell and for what price. You can set up admin shops, which have infinite supply, and you can also set up player shops, which pull supply from a chest.
It will also prevent any other trades with non-shopkeeper villagers, if you want it to.
For those who are simply looking for a convenient way to modify the trades of vanilla villagers (as an alternative to using complex Minecraft commands), the plugin also includes a graphical editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
Basic Features
- Easily create villager shopkeepers that trade the items you want them to trade.
- Admins shops with infinite supplies.
- Player shops which pull supplies from a chest.
- Different types of player shops: selling, buying, trading, and selling books.
- Various supported mob types to represent your shopkeeper, sign shops, and Citizens (NPC) shops.
- Editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
- Many configuration options.
- Translatable messages.
- Open source (Source code on GitHub)
Supported server versions
Shopkeepers supports the latest versions of Bukkit / Spigot.
Note that this plugin is created to work with CraftBukkit (or alternatively Spigot). Bukkit does not have an API for some of the things necessary to make this plugin work. This means that other server software (Tekkit, Forge, Cauldron, etc.) will not work with this plugin.
Other CraftBukkit or Spigot derivatives/forks might work, but are not officially supported. So if you run into issues while using those, try to reproduce your issue on a fresh and up-to-date Spigot server first.

Statistics
This plugin uses bStats to collect anonymous plugin usage statistics. This helps me to determine how many servers are using the plugin, which Minecraft versions it is used with the most, and to which degree the different features are used.
Here is a list of all currently tracked information:
- Common information: The number of servers using the plugin, the number of players on these servers, online mode, Minecraft version, plugin version, core count, system arch, operating system, server country, Java version.
- Shopkeepers specific information: Whether specific related plugins are used (Citizens, Towny, WorldGuard, Gringotts, other Vault economy plugins), number of shops, whether player shops are used, whether certain features are enabled in the config (ex. WorldGuard/Towny compatibility, Citizens shops, delayed saves, colored names, chest protection, removal of inactive shops, tax rate, strict item comparison, purchase logging, disabling of other villagers, ..), the number of worlds containing shops.
- All information can be publicly viewed here: https://bstats.org/plugin/bukkit/Shopkeepers/
If you want to disable bStats for all plugins on your server, edit the file plugins/bStats/config.yml, or alternatively disable it only for Shopkeepers by setting 'enable-metrics' to 'false' inside the Shopkeepers config.

Cauldron is known for having all kinds of strange issues / differences to craftbukkit. I have no clue about those internal differences, so I can't really help you with this. But I can assure you that shopkeepers is working fine on craftbukkit and spigot.

Posted Feb 17, 2015I'm running Cauldron on 1.7.10 and I can't get this stuff to work. I place a shopkeeper and set up the shop but when I try to trade, the shop just instantly closes. Noone can use the shops because as soon as they open up the shop and try putting in an item, it closes.
Any fix?

The destroy flags don't exist on the craftbukkit/spigot server in general, or only on items returned by a shopkeeper? If the first: that's something the spigot team has to look into then.

Yes, that's what the trading player shopkeeper is for. You can switch between the different shop types by (crouch) right-clicking with the villager egg in hand.

Havn't tried it myself yet, but what exactly isn't working? If the destroy flags aren't properly saved or applied to bought items, that is very likely an issue with spigot. Try updating your spigot as well, there was an issue in the past (according to a ticket) which caused the destroy flags to not get properly saved.
If you mean that item comparison is not working for it (you can ofer it a similar item, with different destroy flags): there is no api yet for comparing those flags as far as I can tell.

Though I probably have no time to look into your remaining suggestions any time soon..
Yeah, me neither..
I have also already thought about the emerald, however the emerald item is already used for shopkeeper hiring, so it might be confusing because of that..
Maybe create a bug ticket with a more detailed description of what you mean (Are they turning back to ocelots permanently, or only as 'visual glitch' very quick? When teleporting back, or after reloads?), in case you think that there is an issue with the cats.
You might try the development version here if you are looking for 1.8 citizens: http://ci.citizensnpcs.co/job/Citizens2/
If you are talking about shopkeepers: the latest versions should work on 1.7.10 as well.

Dang that was fast! With most mod/plugins you make a suggestion and the author maybe adds it in a year or gives you some weird reason why your suggestion would take too long or something. Wow!
I've started adding a few things as tickets, as you requested, and i've downloaded the new version too.
The skeleton/Wither skeleton changing item is perfect.
The Cat/ocelot one feels like there's a better option, but i can't think of one.
The zombie to villager one I think should maybe be like, Slime ball and emerald or zombie head and emerald. The spawn egg for a villager looks to me a bit more like you're switching it to a villager than a Zombie Villager...
Also, I don't think that wither skeletons should have bows, and the Cats seem to be turning back into ocelots at random moments.
(and this might have already been said, but this version, despite being marked '1.8' is working on 1.7.10 with no problems at all!)
also, i'm trying to get this to work with citizens, but cannot find a version compatible with 1.7.10, is this a 1.8 only feature, or am i not looking in the right places? (probably should be asked on citizens' thread, but i figured as long as i'm making a post here....)

v1.46 for MC 1.6.2, 1.7.x, 1.8.x
I am open for recommendations regarding how the different mob variants are represented by items in the editor menu, especially regarding representing the different cat types.

Hey, best you create tickets for every of your requests.
Regarding your request for more mob type variants: I can look into them, and check if they are easily possible, or if there potential problems with adding them.
Regarding baby variants: If those should be added, then I think there should be a separate item-button in the editor menu for this to toggle. However the current editor menu has no space left for another button.. My plan was to move all sorts of special options (like the cycling of mob types) into a separate menu, which will have more space. However I haven't found the time to work on that yet.
Regarding bat and enderman shopkeepers: I have disabled certain mob types currently, those including, because they didn't work yet (their mob ai seems to not get properly overwritten for them, with the code that is use for replacing all the other mob ai's). I haven't found the time yet to look into this again.
You could also use the experimental citizens shopkeepers: citizens allows creating a whole bunch of mob types already.
Regarding shopkeeper name limits: you can configure the name length limit in the config ('name-regex'). By default it is limited to 25 + the 2 character color prefix. And there are some built-in limits which can't be changed: 16 for sign shops and 32 for living shopkeepers (I think because of minecraft limits. If those limits are no longer accurate let me know.).

Posted Feb 12, 2015Hullo, I've been using this plugin for a while, and like anyone who's using something and is happy with it, i have some reccomendations that would take lots of work for very little gain. :)
-I noticed that creepers can have whether or not they are charged changed in the shop's GUI, would it be possible to allow ocelots to be changed among the various cat types like this, or add the other cat types as object types?
-Is it possible to do something similer with Skeletons/wither skeletons
-same story again with zombies vs. vilager zombies vs. baby zombies vs. baby villager zombies.
-Really eccentric one: Can i have endercrystal shops? -Less eccentric: Endermen? -As long as i'm getting greedy:Bats? (i'm not even sure that bats and endermen would work, since bats would look stupid sitting in one place, and endermen have there whole being looked at A.I.)
-Babys would be nice for all the animals that can have them, really...
Sorry for demanding nice things from strangers, but It's beggining to make me unhappy how my server's zombie shopkeepers keep switching into babys/nonvillagers every time they're unloaded/reloaded, and these other npc types WOULD be very cool :)
Final request; Could it be/is it possible to change the maximum name length for shopkeepers?
Ultimately, i'm most interested in Wither skeletons and Zombie types, but feedback/changes on all are much appreciated. Thanks for what you've done already, this is a great plugin, in fact one of my favorites ever. I especially would like to commend how it is compatible with everything. I mean, even Craftbook's powertools will still work after being sold to the player! Dang!

You would need some other plugin for that..
Also, as far as I can tell, modifying the experience of an offline player is not possible with bukkit's api. So if you really want to reset all player's exp at once, even for the offline players, the plugin would have to rely on unsafe/non-update-safe code, which reads the player data files, modifies them, and saves them again.
You might want to ask in the bukkit forums for something like that.
Edit:
On another note (I just noticed): players shouldn't get any exp from trading with a shopkeeper villager in the first place..

I doubt that this is an issue with shopkeepers directly, but either some other plugin interfering or lilypad.
