Shopkeepers

Set up custom villager shopkeepers that sell exactly what you want them to sell and for what price. You can set up admin shops, which have infinite supply, and you can also set up player shops, which pull supply from a chest.
It will also prevent any other trades with non-shopkeeper villagers, if you want it to.
For those who are simply looking for a convenient way to modify the trades of vanilla villagers (as an alternative to using complex Minecraft commands), the plugin also includes a graphical editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
Basic Features
- Easily create villager shopkeepers that trade the items you want them to trade.
- Admins shops with infinite supplies.
- Player shops which pull supplies from a chest.
- Different types of player shops: selling, buying, trading, and selling books.
- Various supported mob types to represent your shopkeeper, sign shops, and Citizens (NPC) shops.
- Editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
- Many configuration options.
- Translatable messages.
- Open source (Source code on GitHub)
Supported server versions
Shopkeepers supports the latest versions of Bukkit / Spigot.
Note that this plugin is created to work with CraftBukkit (or alternatively Spigot). Bukkit does not have an API for some of the things necessary to make this plugin work. This means that other server software (Tekkit, Forge, Cauldron, etc.) will not work with this plugin.
Other CraftBukkit or Spigot derivatives/forks might work, but are not officially supported. So if you run into issues while using those, try to reproduce your issue on a fresh and up-to-date Spigot server first.

Statistics
This plugin uses bStats to collect anonymous plugin usage statistics. This helps me to determine how many servers are using the plugin, which Minecraft versions it is used with the most, and to which degree the different features are used.
Here is a list of all currently tracked information:
- Common information: The number of servers using the plugin, the number of players on these servers, online mode, Minecraft version, plugin version, core count, system arch, operating system, server country, Java version.
- Shopkeepers specific information: Whether specific related plugins are used (Citizens, Towny, WorldGuard, Gringotts, other Vault economy plugins), number of shops, whether player shops are used, whether certain features are enabled in the config (ex. WorldGuard/Towny compatibility, Citizens shops, delayed saves, colored names, chest protection, removal of inactive shops, tax rate, strict item comparison, purchase logging, disabling of other villagers, ..), the number of worlds containing shops.
- All information can be publicly viewed here: https://bstats.org/plugin/bukkit/Shopkeepers/
If you want to disable bStats for all plugins on your server, edit the file plugins/bStats/config.yml, or alternatively disable it only for Shopkeepers by setting 'enable-metrics' to 'false' inside the Shopkeepers config.

Posted Apr 13, 2014Can't wait for it to be fixed again, it's a brilliant plugin. It's just a pity that it breaks every update though. It's only a small plugin, but Minecraft updates still seem to want to break it every time :/

Maybe some other plugin is blocking the interaction there? I think you can check for that by turning debug mdoe on.

The inventory update doesn't solve it perfectly: sometimes it seems to be ignored if the delay is too small and in the case of written books it is still possible to read them if the player opens them fast enough..
There is no setting for that in the config.

Thank you for your answer! :D
I just have a little more question Since an inventory update seem to solve the problem. Is it possible to change an inventory update manually in the config file?
Thank you again for your time to answer my question, I really appreciate it. :D

I was able to reproduce this, however it seems that in survival mode the item is only in the players inventory at the client and gets removed by the server again when the player clicks the item in his inventory or tries to interact with it.
The problem with written books however is, that they are opened by the client and not the server, so players can still read it before it gets removed from their inventory.
I will see if I find out more or find some workaround.. maybe triggering an inventory update after the trade failed will help
Edit: triggering an inventory update manually about 150ms later seems to removes the item pretty well, but it is still possible for the player to quickly open and read the book after closing the trade menu..
Next try would be to check if it would be somehow be possible to stop the item from even popping up in the result slot in the first place.. but I currently assume that this either is handled on the clients side or requires some internal server modifications :(

Posted Apr 3, 2014I just updated from 1.6.2 to 1.7.2 on my server. I updated shopkeeper to v1.17.2
There is a bug where you can duplicate items that you try to trade with a shopkeeper. Example: One of my shopkeeper offer to trade Enchanted Diamond Axe (Sharpness 5) to WRITTEN_BOOK.
So a player tried to put Enchanted Diamond Axe (Unbreaking III) instead of Enchanted Diamond Axe (Sharpness 5) and they get WRITTEN_BOOK.
The Console Display these:
1:19:39 [INFO] [Shopkeepers] Trade window opened
1:19:42 [INFO] [Shopkeepers] Invalid trade by notynote with shopkeeper at world,-218,64,122:
1:19:42 [INFO] [Shopkeepers] DIAMOND_AXE:0 and (nothing) for WRITTEN_BOOK:0
1:19:45 [INFO] [Shopkeepers] Player notynote closed trade window
Normally it sohuldn't give a WRITTEN_BOOK but a player was able to drag a WRITTEN_BOOK to their inventory and keep it when they exited a trade window.
So is there anyway that I can fix this?
ps. i tried running a server without other plugin but shopkeeper and still get this problem :(

This means that you have turned debug mode on and those shopkeepers are constantly out of place / not at the place they were created on. I assume they were created on tall grass (or some other block they can fall through).
