RPG-NPC

RPG-NPC is a MMORPG-like questing system. RPG-NPC makes use of NPCs to distribute quests to players. Players can interact with any NPC to obtain and complete quests. The main purpose of this plugin is to give the player a MMORPG feeling where he/she can freely walk around and accept quests at any NPC he/she chooses.

Dear users,
This week I realized that I won't be able to keep up with the demands of RPG-NPC. Development is having a set back.. I recently got word that if I don't start to show some dedication to my college I won't make my first year software engineer. Once I completed my first year successful I might return to update and add features to RPG-NPC.
So I've been thinking on how I will do this. Here's the deal: I'll put RPG-NPC on in-active (as I am not able to support it) but anyone is allowed to request the source. Now please be warned as the source is a big mess which is half way of being formatted (by me). And thus can contain parts which are confusing/inefficient. For now I'll leave the source in the hands of those willing to deal with it.
You can request the source by adding Neodorky on Skype. Please note: If you add this Skype while not planning or able to continue RPG-NPC you're in danger of being removed and/or blocked.

It's not assuming they overwrite the versioning of Bukkit, I can check if the code I use can be used for their custom version of Craftbukkit but I won't. It will take me loads of time having to keep up with a custom version of Craftbukkit.

It's a standalone plugin so no need for citizens. You can check here for one of the video tutorials on how to accept a quest. Catching fish is already in (Castbobber) but I'll have to look into shaving a sheep.

I fixed the NPClib recently allowing you to kill the NPC again, I'll look into making them more resistant against other plugins. Or at least until I added some way to fight them and monitor their HP. In version 2.2.6.1 they will already automatically respawn if killed.
@Jackster82
That's odd your description tells me you passed the prerequisites.. When you do /plugins ingame is RPG-NPC red?

Posted Feb 2, 2013For some reason, the plugin loads fine, but I don't get a RPG-NPC folder in my plugins folder. I'm running Vault w/ essentials eco and have the correct RPG-NPC for my version of bukkit. Is there a way to fix this?

Posted Feb 2, 2013So I noticed a strange deal today. One of my NPCs disappeared. I know others have seen issues like this happen, but after reloading my NPC, I noticed that he was being attacked by a spider. I'm running the CombatCrits plugin as well, and I think one of the spider attacks is being seen as a critical hit, either headshot or something, and causing him to be damaged. Really strange thing is that this is in a WorldGuard mob-damage:deny area. I'm not sure if others that are having an issue is having a similar conflict or not, but thought I'd mention it. I've reported this to the other plugin's author to see if he can do something about it, but that was 2 revisions ago. Guess I'll have to remove that to keep my poor NPCs safe. haha Keep it up Neo!

Posted Feb 2, 2013Dear users,
I just uploaded the new version (2.2.6.1) to BukkitDev. I changed the versioning a bit because this release only has bug fixes and improved code. Hope you enjoy the new build for 1.4.7-R1.0!

@danielhardy
Great to hear it's all working for the build it was released for.
@Krayno
Did you give your players the permission rpg.quest?
@angrymeat
v2.2.6 only runs on bukkit 1.4.7-R0.1.

Most of the time it's because the user is using the wrong Bukkit version. The next release will include a better safeguard to counter this problem.

It's a bug of v2.2.6.
@PaulBGD
I'll look into armor requirements but I am still optimizing bits of the code. Plus I need to remove the bugs present in v2.2.6 before I can release 2.2.7 and add any more features.
@sipeari
It's on the page at Detailed features description -> Rewards / Penalties.
@NathanTheDragon
Whenever you add a quest to a chain, the next one in line will show up. So when I complete a quest, the second in the chain will show up for me to accept.
@Tiagoool
Working on it, I have great plans for the talkto objective.

1. Requirement: I think That's what chains is for, But I'm not sure how to work it, so it's already there. 2. Teleportation after you complete a quest is implemented, when you make a quest, when it says onComplete: Teleport? Type "Yes". So It's There, But Build, No... I think.
Hope that clears things up, -Nathan
