RPG-NPC

RPG-NPC is a MMORPG-like questing system. RPG-NPC makes use of NPCs to distribute quests to players. Players can interact with any NPC to obtain and complete quests. The main purpose of this plugin is to give the player a MMORPG feeling where he/she can freely walk around and accept quests at any NPC he/she chooses.

Dear users,
This week I realized that I won't be able to keep up with the demands of RPG-NPC. Development is having a set back.. I recently got word that if I don't start to show some dedication to my college I won't make my first year software engineer. Once I completed my first year successful I might return to update and add features to RPG-NPC.
So I've been thinking on how I will do this. Here's the deal: I'll put RPG-NPC on in-active (as I am not able to support it) but anyone is allowed to request the source. Now please be warned as the source is a big mess which is half way of being formatted (by me). And thus can contain parts which are confusing/inefficient. For now I'll leave the source in the hands of those willing to deal with it.
You can request the source by adding Neodorky on Skype. Please note: If you add this Skype while not planning or able to continue RPG-NPC you're in danger of being removed and/or blocked.

Prerequisites / Installation
To make sure RPG-NPC runs on your server follow these steps:
- Make sure the version of Bukkit the plugin is released for equals the version of your Bukkit server.
- Make sure you are running: Vault.
- Make sure you are running an economy plugin supported by Vault.
- Stop your server.
- Add RPG-NPC to your plugins folder.
- Start your server.
- Go to the config file and make the necessary changes.
- Type "/RPG load config" to load the changes.

Posted Feb 8, 2013Hmm, i change my server hoster and after i copy my server files, the npc´s despawn.... I copy everything from the old server, but on the old server everything was ok. So the plugins are not the problem. I have many NPC´s created, and not all despawn, only some npc´s at the spawn.. Behind a radius of some blocks the npc´s works fine. So there are some problem with the map or spawn? I already changed the spawn of essentials and multiverse but they despawn anyway.

Posted Feb 7, 2013Okay, so I figured out how to reproduce the bug. So, I was on, and than I had my bro come on. He was in another world, and suddenly they appeared! Than, as soon as he came to my world they disappeared. It did the same to both of us, like if I was in another world. Figured you could use a list of my plugins, so here:

Also got a bug to report, when i have created a single quest with mobs to kill but the quest book don't get updated and cant complete it.

I'm very sorry for the inconveniences. I've been formatting my code for quite a while now and still working on most parts. I'll make a big notice when multi-language support is available. Many people have been requesting it and I have certainly not forgotten about it. Please bear with me while I format my code!

I'm sorry the source is mine alone. It will be all rights reserved closed source until the code reaches acceptable state or I abandon the project. I don't want to deal with developers complaining about pieces of code which still need optimization while I am working/learning to do so.

Select the area where you want the player to complete the objective, the quest won't be automatically completed. When the player walks into the area the objective gets marked as complete. Please note the cuboid has to be at least 2 block high.

I have a possibly stupid question - how does walkto objective works? like entering cuboid made of 2 points? Because i seem cant make it work.
Also how can I give reward for completing all objectives in quest?

I have a card for it and it's on the suggestion forum also. I'll just have to format my code to the point where it takes very little time for me to add features and test them efficiently. Once I did that the users of RPG-NPC will get new features faster than ever before.

Posted Feb 4, 2013I saw another npc questing plugin that did this, but it hooks into epicboss, and you can make a quest that has you kill them boss. I believe that plugin was called quester, I just thought that would be a cool feature for this. And the npcs are still disappearing after restart. Their info is still saved to the npc file..

I'm not planning to create dungeons or instances for these NPCs. There are many dungeon/instance based plugins around.

If the plugins name is red it means it disabled itself. This could be because of the version of Bukkit, Not having Vault and/or the economy plugin could not be found. RPG-NPC should spit out some information why it was disabled (in the console).

Posted Feb 3, 2013I've been fiddling around with the new update for a while and have found a problem. When I start the server and log on the is only one NPC out of the three I'm supposed to have. Then when I reload the all come back but none have any of their skins anymore. This happens every time I close the server and reopen it (I'am closing it properly).
