Residence


About
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.

Posted Mar 31, 2012Work around for LAG issues! It appears when you have the vault plugin and residence plugin it will lag the server when you attempt to break blocks that you do not have permissiont to break. For example if you puch a lot of redstone in a residence you will easly lag the server unless you remove the vault plugin. Either this is a residence plugin issue or a vault plugin issue. But the server works great with out vault. Of course not having vault is a problems.

residence overrides, that's been that way for a long time. our server was using residence for global flags, but since a few updates back, the world flag manager has been having issues with as many worlds as we are running.
there are a few options with pvp. Don't disable pvp per world with residence, use multiverse for that, plugins like worldguard should then be able to override it.

Posted Mar 30, 2012There is a conflict with WorldGuard.I've set pvp=true in my server properties and pvp=true outside a residence and pvp=false(default) inside a res in residence config,but when I am in a worldguard region that has the pvp flag to true,I can't pvp because Residence overrides it.If i make a residence with pvp flag set to true then pvp works.I want it also to be able to set pvp on using a worldguard region and global pvp to off outside a worldguard region and residence.

I am having the same problem. It seems if having WorldEdit(maybe the CUI?) installed with 1.2.4 interferes now with residence - or the selection tool to be more exact. Before I could use for both(WE and Residence) the wooden axe, now it's not working anymore. For me using /toggleeditwand to turn of the wand selection for Worldedit, using the Wooden Axe again will make /res select vert work. But you obviously don't have the fance grid as you'd have with WorldEdit(CUI?) active so you have to select new points for Residence. While selecting two new points for Residence you will still see your old WorldEdit(CUI?) selection.
But I do not know how to fix this, either try the same as I did or change the selection tool for either of them.

the command "/resadmin select vert" doesn't seem to work, it tells me to select the 2 points but i already selected them.
EDIT: I'm honestly having commands issues, like all the commands.

Kinda seems redundant for Res to have that with the other big name plugins already doing it. Also, if you notice everyone that handles it handles it world wide. Maybe something bout the api doesn't allow checking coords before disabling the block damage effect.

i know that theres like a bunch of plugins out there and essentials are one of them but why can't residence have it on it self, instead of completely removing the damage and explosion why can't be just explode and node destroy blocks.
