Residence


About
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.

You could set up a subzone on the farms allowing build. But leave build false in the main zone.

Posted Aug 18, 2012I have Residence set up on my server and one of the main reasons I use it is to protect the villages from users and creepers so that I don't have to constantly maintain the villages. However I'd like for my users to be able to access certain parts of the villages.
So for my village Chillville I have the flags of +use and +container for regular access. My question is, is there a flag specific to harvesting or farming, or does it fall under build? I'd love to allow my players to access the wheat in the villages but I don't want them having the ability to build in the village. Is this possible or am I going to have to have to do one or the other?

Posted Aug 18, 2012ok its working..finally :-D I cancelled permission mirroring for world2 and made world2 default group Player2 (world has Player) and made extra group in residence config for Player2 with
and now.. in world new residence have pvp- but in world2 residence have pvp+ which is cool :_D

Well world flags are from the world, inside residences it uses that Residences flags... Iif you want certain flags to also be set in EVERY residence, You can set those flags into the Default flags on create for Residences and then set it so users can't change those flags. The config is pretty clear as far as I am concerned. I have never had a problem with it.

I dont know what you mean by that? yes I can made Player2 which will be default group on other world.. but I cant set they have pvp true in residences.. because <# These are default flags applied to all residences from any user group.> is for whole world.. not for groups. so it will not help.

Atm there is not that much multiworld support in Residence. That will change in the future, in the meantime a easy workaround is to change what group people are in in different worlds and set up the flags differently for those groups in those worlds.

but for more worlds.. so I can set that world pvp false world2 pvp true (+ I set ppl cant change pvp flag, but its set to false by default, because when it was true, ppl was able to attack in world where pvp was off by MyWorlds plugin)

Posted Aug 18, 2012Toothpick1 hi CAn you tell me how to set residence, so it will work like this: world - pvp false in residences world2 - pvp true in residences and without able to change it? and I have set globally pvp true, because otherwise MyWorlds plugin (for more worlds) was not working (i set toglle pvp bu it still telling me world pvp is disabled.. and it was because in residence global flag pvp was false)
about subzones - sorry it was one user fault how turned pvp on in subzone ;_D

Posted Aug 18, 2012I am running into an issue when reloading Residence. After changing config.yml, if I do either /resload or /resreload, the server console says that the plugin was reloaded, but I lose access to the plugin in game. All /res commands return nothing and it does not function again until a full server restart.

Posted Aug 17, 2012Toothpick - I think its now working (helpers without op can do thing in residences of players) I did it as I said.. I made special group for admin/helpers and gived them permission to build/container/use when they are out of their residence.

Posted Aug 17, 2012I found another "bug". I have global pvp true but I have when residence created pvp false but if someone make subzone in that residence, subzone is pvp true.
Is that right? I think subzone should mirror permissions from residence..

Read this from your error: Caused by: java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: SuperPerms no group permissions.
Then read this from the plugin description above: we have an issue with Vault+Superperms right now
Then go either no longer use vault or install a permissions system with Group Support
[EDIT] As of latest dev build there is no longer an issue when using both Vault and SuperPerms
On a side note I recommend you update your mcmmo to build 1031 as it fixes a major bug with duping items via superbreaker and gigadrill breaker in residences(Well all protection plugins, but I am assuming you only use residence)(Mcmmo didn't check if events were not allowed previously)

Posted Aug 17, 2012I can't seem to get Vault to work with Residence...everytime I start the server with Vault, Residence commands no longer work, and residences are gone. Here is a link to my logs.
