ProtectionStones
Anti-Griefing at it's Easiest!

Griefing Protection
ProtectionStones allows a player to place a special block, and this protects their area from griefing.
This small plugin was inspired by PreciousStones but only has the property protection blocks. This allows players to place one of three types of ore blocks to protect their property.
The player doesn't require any special permissions, they just need to get one of the three following ore blocks which you can give or sell in game using other plugins:
Coal Ore gives 11x11x11 protection area.
Lapis Ore gives 21x21x21 protection area.
Diamond Ore gives 41x41x41 protection area.
See the Configuration Page if you would like to change the block types, the dimensions or even set the Y-Axis to be from sky to bedrock, set group limiting, etc.
When the player places the block it creates a WorldGuard Region that gives the player ownership of that area and in turn grief protection. If the player breaks the ProtectionStone then they get the stone back and the region is removed from WorldGuard's Region List.
To install simply copy the ProtectionStones.jar file to your plugins folder, no configuration necessary. The following Ore Blocks are supported as the defaults: Coal Ore, Lapis Ore, Diamond Ore.
ProtectionStones Regions
ProtectionStones Creates WorldGuard Regions with the following naming convention:
ps{x-coordinate}x{y-coordinate}y{z-coordinate}z
i.e.
ps279x67y40z
The x, y, and z coordinates are the location of the placed ProtectionStone which is in the center of the WorldGuard Region it creates. If the Region.SKYBEDROCK Setting is set to "true" (see the Configuration Page) then Y-Axis of the ProtectionStone isn't necessarily the vertical center of the region.
Incompatible with PreciousStones
Both plugins act on the same kind of ore blocks and have the same command name of "/ps".
Requires WorldGuard
WorldGuard is used to create and remove regions when the blocks are placed, otherwise ProtectionStones won't do anything (set not to load if WorldGuard isn't found).

Yes that is correct people can exploit the view glass with silk touch, even if that is a huge waste of a silk touch pickaxe.
PS temporarily creates real glass blocks in the world, to avoid other problems sometime caused by the way some plugins alter the players view and not alter the world directly.
The only solution is to block them from using the /ps view command which uses the "protectionstones.view" permission. This permissions used to be set to op at one time and now is allowed by default. This is from a paste ticket and question on how to turn of the default permission:
It is turned on by default so depending on your permissions plugin you may be able to shut if off directly from your permissions or open the protectionstones.jar with an archive program like 7zip, then edit the plugin.yml file inside the jar.
Find this section:
protectionstones.view:
description: Allows Use of the View Command
default: true
And change the "default: true" to "default: false"
Don't forget to reload your plugins so it will take effect.

Posted Jun 27, 2013Quick permissions question. How do I disable the ability for certain players to issue certain commands in their protected areas?
Like I'd like to make it so that my lowest levels of players can place protection stones but can't change the default settings of the zone. In other words I don't want them to be able to toggle PVP, chest access and whatever else.
Can this be done and how do I format the permission to deny the ability? Is it going to be like "- - protectionstones.flag.pvp" or protectionstones.flag.pvp.false or what exactly?

To add a member to your ProtectionStones Region: /ps add [player]
By default the permission for adding a member is set to true, and would only be blocked if your permissions program has a feature that blocks all default permissions and that option is turned on.
To add an owner to your ProtectionStones Region: /ps addowner [player]
By default the permission for adding additional owners to a region is set to op, meaning only operators can use this command.
If you want all players to be able to add and remove owners give them the "protectionstones.owners" permission in your permissions plugins.
If you still have a problem send me a private message, you may have either problems with your permissions plugin, or if you are not running a permissions plugin I can walk you through changing ProtectionStones default permissions.

If you made any changes to the config.yml file you may have altered the default message.
You can change the Flag.greeting message in the config.yml file.
Please read the Configuration Page for more information.

If you mean change it in a region that is already created then use the flag command.
While in the region do /ps flag greeting {your message}
If you mean the default message added to newly created regions, then change the Flag.greeting message in the config.yml file.

Please read the section called "ProtectionStones (WorldGuard) Region Sizes" on the Configuration Page, it explains how to make those changes.

Sounds like a problem with your group assignments.
Please PM me your config.yml and an example of the group assignment in your permissions plugin.

Posted Jun 8, 2013Hey Axel - I'm a long time user of this plugin and it is great. Never had any problems with it.
However, I recently tried to change the blocks of my protection stones. To do this, I did /ps admin hide to hide all current blocks (the default ones). I then updated my config file with the new blocks. There work if you try and place them, they attempt to make a protected area. However, when I did /ps admin unhide none of the blocks came back at all - not even in their old form. Is there any way to fix this without replacing every protection stone?
Thanks,
Eddy.
And @mormaii2 - Make sure they aren't inheriting any permissions from a group which may have a different protection stone limit.
