Prayer
Use the pray, bless and curse commands to issue prayer requests to the gods for special abilities and powers.
Features
- Player may pray to request flight, lightning smite, health, storms, food, minions, allies, shelter, "theforce" and much more.
- Player may also bless or curse other players.
- Player's XP level determines prayer quota and odds.
- Punishment will be issued by the gods for excessive prayer attempts.
- Prayer quota will reset after granted prayer, punishment, death or after player sleeps.
- Player must hold a holy book to perform prayer (configurable).
- Player may use Prayer Altars to improve chances of prayer grant. Praying near Villagers or holding a Wither skull also help odds.
- Unanswered prayers may randomly yield small amounts of XP points.
- Supports permissions and configurable settings such as cooldowns, grant durations, world restrictions, and more.

Pray and Bless Options
To pray: /pray [option]

| air | Grants underwater breathing. |
| ally | Sends down a guardian Iron Golem. |
| clearsky | Stops a storm. |
| crops | Accelerates growth of nearby crops. |
| day | Resets the day to morning. |
| firehand | Ignites a mob when struck by player. |
| flight | Provides the ability of flight. |
| food | Restores your hunger meter. |
| giant | Sends down a mighty giant. (Creative Only) |
| health | Restores your health. |
| help | Provides info on using the /pray or /curse commands. |
| home | Sends player to their current spawn location. |
| info | Outputs your current prayer quota. |
| invisibility | Activates the Invisibility enchantment. |
| jump | Provides enhanced jumping. |
| lightning | Strikes lightning wherever your crosshair is pointing. |
| minions | Sends down a pack of tamed wolves or cats. |
| nightvision | Activates the Night Vision enchantment. |
| op | Smites any user who dare pray for such power. |
| shelter | Builds basic shelter around a player. Design is biome specific. |
| speed | Provides enhanced running. |
| storm | Creates a storm occasionally dropping fish. |
| strength | Provides enhanced offensive and defensive strength. |
| theforce | Breaks blocks at your target and thrusts any nearby mobs away. |
Curse Options
To curse: /curse [option] [player]

| flood | Creates a flood around the target player. |
| foes | Sends the recipient a set of monsters. |
| health | Lowers the recipient's health meter. |
| hunger | Lowers the recipient's hunger meter. |

| waters | Turns the waters near a player to fire or other material. |

Posted Jun 5, 2014Could you allow the option in the config file to choose if the OP's are the GODS so that if someone prays for somthing OP's -or those with Perms- get a message in chat saying for example PRAYER<Username>: has prayed for flight! for example. then the 'God' could type /prayer <grant/deny> <username> and the same goes for bless and cursing? I think this would be an amazing addition to the plugin.

Posted Mar 8, 2014If you could update this to 1.7 that'd be great. It just says "Type "/pray help" or "/bless help" for a list of options." when trying to do anything. This was one of the main reasons people donated to my server and I'd hate to see it go.

Posted Dec 22, 2013Could you make it so that if a player is in (or near) a protected region, prayers that spawn/change blocks are canceled out? If need be, perhaps you could utilise this plugin to hook into region-protection plugins.
Or, you could add configuration to certain prayers/curses to make them friendly to blocks (as in, not change any blocks whatsoever). For example, you could make "theforce" apply to entities only, "flood" simply teleport the player into the nearest body of water (or do nothing if it can't find water), and "waters" make water near the player explode without block damage.
Also, it would be helpful if "mob-spawning" prayers/curses could be far more configurable (changing mob types that spawn, how much of a mob can spawn, allowing the mobs to despawn after a time frame, etc.).

Prayer requests will only work with in-game players. There is no queue of sorts. As for the command block. I'd have to look into that.

Posted Apr 18, 2013Ahh I see - I think my problem was that I have it set up such that holding a book is required, so holding a wither also is not possible....
Can the config handle multiple types of required items in-hand? Ideally I would keep the book for normal odds, and then the wither skull for increased chances?
If you are looking for another fun option, the regen effect (Is there a regen III?) would be fun for PVP - better than /pray health as you can try to activate it before you get in the fight.

RIght, the Wither Skull *should* work as a replacement or improvement to the book, when held. I'll fix it if it isn't working as intended.
Beyond that, I have a plan to add more configurable control for the "buffs", if you will. Cool, "haste enchantment". I forgot about that one. I'll add it too. Thanks.

Can you go into detail on how the wither skull works? Does the skull item have to be used in place of the default book to get this to work?
How about a /pray mine, which gives the haste enchantment ? That would rock (pun sort of intended :) )

Could you also add a configurable cost to each type of prayer/curse?
