I haven't found much time to work on this project lately. If you want to contribute, the source code can be found here: https://github.com/PaintballWarEdition/PaintballLegacy
Feel free to open pull requests, but try to keep the changes per PR minimal to reduce the time required to review them. If you have larger or more complex changes in mind, feel free to contact me to discuss them before you start working on them.
We also started to move the documentation over to Github: https://github.com/PaintballWarEdition/PaintballLegacy-Wiki/wiki
But this can certainly be improved. If you want to help with the documentation, feel free to contact me and send me your Github username.

Paintball is a fast paced and action packed multiplayer game.
In the classic TeamDeathMatch mode 2 teams compete against each other to bombard each other with snowballs. Once a player is hit, he's out and automatically leaves the arena and has to wait in the paintball lobby for his mates to finish and the next match to start. In the Paintball lobby you will meet all paintball players, choose your team and wait for enough players, or the end of the last match. When all conditions are met, a countdown starts which announces the next match.

Basic-Features
Paintball is constantly expanding. There are more and more features added which have not much to do with the classic paintball game. But do not panic: According to your personal preferences you can modify or disable most things in the config.yml in the Paintball folder.
- No client or server modifications or additional plugins are required !
- Multiple Arenas: Build as many arenas as you like !
- Complete freedom on what your arena looks like! As Paintball does not care about your arenas borders, your arena can have any shape and layout, as long as it is impenetrable. Simple build some sort of wall around your arena to keep your players inside.
- Multiple Spawns: Paintball lets you define multiple spawn points for each team (red, blue, spectators) !
- Automatic-Lobby-Arena-System: The Paintball lobby will automatically rotate through all your ready arenas. No need for administrators to be online !
Limitation: Currently there can always only run one match at a time.
- Easy: No complex setup needed ! Only 4 commands and your arena is ready and added to the automatic arena rotation !
- Mechanism to strictly seperate Survival and Paintball and to prevent "cheating" in and with Paintball.
- Easy and individually adjustable small Shop, where you can buy ammunition or other special and unique "weapons", gadgets and power-ups with the Paintball-Cash earned during the matches.
- Ranking: Your players gain points to compete with each other !
- Various statistics: examples are Points, Cash, Kills, Deaths, Hits, Shots, KD, Accurancy, Teamattacks, Wins and Defeats for each player, each arena and as a whole.
- Toggleable Killfeed ! Turn it off if it spams you !
- Most stuff is configurable ! For advanced information click here.
- Much, much more!
Easy integration on every survival server!
Our main target is to keep this plugin easily integratable on any standard survival server without disturbing the survival feeling. Players shall not be able to swindle items or gain other advantages over survival players through Paintball.
Here you got some sort of overview what actions are taken to protect the survival-part of the server:
People with the 'paintball.admin' permissions node can bypass some of them.
- Prevent commands that are not related to Paintball. So player can't teleport or use commands as a benefit.
- Prevent breaking and placing of blocks.
- Prevent dropping and picking up items, or dropping the armor.
- Options to let players only join with full health or hunger so they can't escape during fights.
- Options to save the players inventory when joining the lobby and restore afterwards.
- Paintball inventory is cleared when leaving the lobby.
- Turned off damage and starvation inside the lobby.
- Many things can be disabled if they create problems with your other plugins.
- Explosions do no damage to blocks.
- Only Paintball players receive the Paintball messages. Your other players will not get spammed.

Additional information
Hint about version checking and stats collecting:
This plugin is checking dev.bukkit.org for new updates. This can be disabled in the config with the setting "Server.Version Check".
This plugin is also doing some periodically stats tracking to mcstats.org which helps me to determine how many servers are using it. This can be disabled with the setting "Server.Metrics".
And the plugin is also sending some stats to blablubbabc.de to maybe prepare for some kind of later serverlist (a list of paintball servers). Currently those data are only stored in a non-public mysql table on my server.
- This means that this plugin is sending some general information about the minecraftserver, like: ip-adress, port, servername, slots, motd, bukkit version, if server is in onlinemode and if it has whitelist enabled.
- And some information about paintball like: how many players already played paintball there and if it is an paintball-only server (autolobby enabled) and if the server admin wants the server to be listed at some kind of public server list later, when it is finished.
→Those data are currently only send once every reload.
→ For people who don't want to share these informations with me :( → you can en- and disable this in the serverlist config (plugins/Paintball/serverlist.yml) with the setting "post enabled"

Deine Arenen sind in anderen Welten, als die Paintball Lobby? (ich rede von der Paintball Lobby, nicht von deiner allgemeinen "Lobby" / Spawn Welt)
Asserdem müsste es trotzdem gehen, dass das Inventar zurückgesetzt wird. Es sollte nur ein Problem sein für die Inventare, die du in den Welten hast, in denen deine Arenen sind (die gehen dabei verloren).
Wenn du in der Paintball config "inventory save" ausgeschaltet hast, müsste dein Inventar, das du in der Paintball Lobby Welt hast verloren gehen. Das ist wsh. nur kein Problem für dich, weil du dort, in der Lobby Welt, eh ein leeres Inventar hast.
Ps: bin gerade auf deinem Server, dann kannst dus mir evt. ja mal zeigen, was in welcher Welt ist und was verloren geht

Ja ist eine andere Welt nicht die Hauptwelt.
Sobald ich "inventory save" false habe, und dem Tool Multiinv das Inventar kontrolliere oder Multiverse Inv geht es.
Das Merkwürdeige ist das mit "inventory save" true, und Muliverse Inv, das da das Inventar auch wieder hergestellt wurde.
Ev. war es vorher buggy und geht jetzt, so das es mir jetzt erst auffällt.

Sind deine Arenen in einer anderen Welt als deine Lobby? Weil ich hatte keine Probleme zusammen mit Multiverse Inventories, ausser ich wechsle die Welt, während ich in Paintball bin (dann wechselt nämlich auch Multiverse das Inventar, das wird dann von Paintball geleert und geht damit verloren). Und falls deine Arenen ind einer anderen Welt sind: geht das inventar auch verlorgen, wenn du aus der Lobby herraus leavst, also nicht während du in einem Match in einer anderen Welt bist?

You want to disable the player chat for everybody? So that no player which currently play paintball can chat? What about other players which are not in paintball? Shall their chat be send to the paintball players? What about admins chat in and outside of paintball (recieve-able in paintball / can chat while in paintball)?
And what do you mean by "sys message"? Do you mean things like the countdown and the kill feed?

Ja, hatte es jedenfalls so gesehen, nicht das ich noch Gespenster sehe, will ja auch die Pferde nicht scheu machen.
PS: hatte es mit der 1.6.4 craftbukkit und spigot getestet.
Ev habe ich meine Arenen auch falsch zusammen gestellt. Kannst ja mal schauen wenn Du Lust hast.

--------Das ist zusätzlich passiert als in der Paintball Config "inventory save" True an hate und dazu Multiverse Inv an hatte.
Ist aber auch passiert mit "inventory save" true und dem Tool Multiinv
(Hat mein Server ev. gesponnen? kann ja sein)
Nachdem ich dann "inventory save" fals hatte ging alles.
PS: habe noch mal neu gestartet jetzt sind es wieder 8 Arenen :-)
... und ich muss ins Bett, habe morgen um 8:00 Uhr ein Meeting :-)
melde mich gegen Abend dann noch mal.

hm, eigentlich habe ich irgendwann mal irgendwas geändert, damit es mit multiverse inventories funktioniert..

Also mich würde jetzt schon interessieren, warum das jetzt nicht funktioniert.. ich were dann mal in multiverse inv nachschauen, wann genau da das inventar gewechselt wird.

Ja, ich habe zwischen-zeitlich das Limit von 8 raus genommen und dann auch die config angepasst. Da ist bei dir halt jetzt noch der alte Eintrag drinnen, der wird aber von Paintball nicht genutzt (kannst du also löschen)

Posted Sep 26, 2013Noch was ist aufgefallen. Ich habe vorher 8 Arenen gehabt, wenn ich jetzt einer höhere als 5 nehme , kommt die Meldung ungültige Vote ID, zwischen 1 und 5.
Number of Vote Options (between 2 and 8): 8 ist in der Config eingetragen.
Oder gibt es neue einträge, in der config die ich übersehen habe?
Was ist mit:
Number of Vote Options (at least 2): 4 muss das dort eingetragen werden?

Habe es jetzt mal "inventory save" auf false gesetzt und MultiInv eingesetzt, dann geht es.
Auch bin ich sofort in der Lobby gejoint obwohl es auf Autolobby auf false steht. Auch da war OK, als "inventory save" auf false gesetzt hatte.
Kann auch sein (Vorher hatte ich Multivers Inventory) und in der Paintball Config trotzdem
"inventory save" auf true, das die beiden dann durcheinander kommen. Bei Multiinv war es genau so. Blöderweise muss ich in anderen Welten auch das Inventar speichern, so das ich ein Tool einsetzen muss.
Da es so geht, mit "inventory save" auf false, erscheint es für mich nicht so tragisch. Wenn Du es für wichtig hältst, trage ich ein Ticket nach.

Ich habe es noch nicht selber mit dem 1.6.4 dev build getestet. Aber API mäßig hat sich nix geändert, daher gehe ich davon aus, dass alles noch funktioniert..
Sollte das Inventar mit dem craftbukkit 1.6.4 dev build nicht gespeichert werden, obwohl in der config "inventory save" aktiviert ist (und inventory lobby join check auf false), dann erstelle bitte ein Ticket. Am besten dann auch mit eine Beschreibung deines Setups (in welchen Welten sind lobby und in welchen die arenen etc..) und deiner restlichen Plugins (evt. ist ja was dabei was Probleme macht, zum Beispiel ein Plugin, das beim Welten-Wechsel selber Inventare ändert..)

what overview are you refering to? There is no server overview. You can create a thread to show off your server here: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/paintball_pure_war/forum/server-list/
However, I doubt that many people will look there. Especiall as not many people use the forum and the most are server admins with their own servers..
