OtherDrops

Make anything drop anything, anyhow!

OtherDrops allows you to add anything from a simple "glass drops glass" or mob rewards, to a complex overhaul of your servers drops with drops differing depending on tools, biome, time, weather and much more, along with custom messages, actions and commands.
OtherDrops is lightweight* (it only acts on what you configure) and respects most protection plugins (eg. WorldGuard, Regios) settings. Many examples are included that you can enable and/or customize as you wish.

- Skull types & custom player heads
- Support for special mob data:
- Custom names, HP (health) & equipment for any mob
- Baby animals (all "Ageable" mobs - chicken, cow, pig, zombie etc)

- Sheep colors (and sheared/unsheared)
- Villager professions, villager zombies, powered creepers & agressive level for pig-zombies
- Wither skeletons, Slime & lava-slimes of any size

- Players can gain, lose or steal money based on fixed amount or percentage
- Compatible with "MoneyDrop" to drop physical money items.
Conditions
- Multi-world support - create separate files to handle each world
- Add super rare drops with chance values down to 0.000000001%
- Specify tools required (or a list of tools eg. [any sword, -diamond sword])
- Lorename, Heroes (class & level) conditions
- Cooldowns
Actions
- Apply actions alongside the drop (or even without a drop)
- Damage tools and/or consume items (eg. use dyes to color wool)
- Damage or heal the victim, player or even the whole world
- Apply potion effects to the victim, player, radius, world or server
- Display custom messages (or a list of messages with one selected at random)
- Create explosions, lightning, visual effects (including particles), sound effects
- Run commands
Ideas
- Give leaves various chances of dropping apples, sticks, cocoa beans, saplings, etc on break and/or leaf decay.
- Make glass, stairs, and boats reclaimable (can be tool-specific if you wish).
- Allow gold and iron to be mined directly into ingots with a golden pickaxe.
- Allow users to right-click on cobblestone with vines in hand to turn the cobblestone mossy.
- Nerf mob traps by disabling drops from environmental damage.
- Unleash the zombie apocalypse by setting zombies to drop zombies when they die! (This can be world-specific.)
- Make mobs that don't normally spawn naturally spawn.
- Make mob spawning, drops, and events biome specific!

Dev Builds
Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk.
Help Wanted
Would you like to help improve OtherDrops? Here are some ways to get involved:
- Media/art: OtherDrops could really do with some tutorial and example videos.
- Testers: Testers who are able to go through the plugin and rigorously check that things (both existing and new features) work as they should. PM Zarius your Skype (or other IM) details if you're interested or jump on the IRC channel.
- Programming: any assistance is welcomed - see the todo list here for some ideas. Anyone with refactoring and/or automated testing experience that wants to assist would be great.

Posted Aug 18, 2012Zarius is off since Jul 27, 2012, he is very busy, if I his last comments are true. He promised, that OtherDrops will have update after 1.3 released, but I don't know, when he will do this.
Btw, where are Celtic_Minstreal is? He is figuring as one of the authors, can't he do a quick fix to OtherDrops?

Posted Aug 17, 2012I'm hoping this gets an update as it is an extremely useful, powerful and well considered plugin. Beyond the obvious 1.3 changes that are not implemented, it seems that replaceblock has broken. The simple test case for this is the included in-place wool dye config.
The source code is linked up top - if anyone creates a patch please post the details here so I can build it.

Posted Aug 13, 2012i want my mobs to drop 1 item at a time, but also drop a range of different items... maybe drop glass one kill, then a torch a different kill, i made the config but it's ONLY dropping the 1st item in the config line.
- {drop: RAW_FISH, SQUID, CHICKEN, APPLE, chance: 20%} ONLY drops Raw_Fish, how do i get the command to have a 20% chance for each item?

Posted Aug 10, 2012Other drops seems to works well in my server, on 1.3.1 R1. Any errors, all of the custom drops works fine. But Zarious is off since Jul 27, and I not sure, when or whether he will still updating this ;/ OD still have some bugs, but I can still using it, because they don't bother me. It's great plugin, one of most important on my server. There are probably any good replacement for OtherDrops ;/

Try removing any unique drops you have attached to Leaf Decay, and this error will hopefully go away.

Posted Aug 1, 2012hi, we have encountered some problem, we are using 'custom stuff' mod to add blocks and items in game
so when we're trying to add those blocks in to otherdrops config, we get this message:
this is config part
when you mine ruby ore, with pickaxe, ruby ore block changes to cobblestone and drops a ruby, else it drops small rock, and don't changes
there are block id limits? or plugin just don't want to work with mod?
items with id 10000+ works well

When I just had the second part, spider eyes were still dropping. It seems to be working now but I thought it was odd to have 2 "tool: ALL" sections. I'm just learning this plugin though.

Probably seems like I'm just not configuring syntax correctly, because I'm using 2.5.2.
Tekkit support would be wonderful; I'm currently attempting to add in a repair system; however, tools from the mod aren't recognized as having durability. Possibly something that subtracts from the data value would work perfectly.
Thanks as always for the great plugin! I'm enjoying my ridiculously overrepaired tools with 5000 extra durability, heh.
