OtherDrops

Make anything drop anything, anyhow!

OtherDrops allows you to add anything from a simple "glass drops glass" or mob rewards, to a complex overhaul of your servers drops with drops differing depending on tools, biome, time, weather and much more, along with custom messages, actions and commands.
OtherDrops is lightweight* (it only acts on what you configure) and respects most protection plugins (eg. WorldGuard, Regios) settings. Many examples are included that you can enable and/or customize as you wish.

- Custom names, HP (health) & equipment for any mob

- Villager professions, villager zombies, powered creepers & agressive level for pig-zombies

- Compatible with "MoneyDrop" to drop physical money items.
Conditions
- Multi-world support - create separate files to handle each world
- Add super rare drops with chance values down to 0.000000001%
- Specify tools required (or a list of tools eg. [any sword, -diamond sword])
- Lorename, Heroes (class & level) conditions
- Cooldowns
Actions
- Apply actions alongside the drop (or even without a drop)
- Damage tools and/or consume items (eg. use dyes to color wool)
- Damage or heal the victim, player or even the whole world
- Apply potion effects to the victim, player, radius, world or server
- Display custom messages (or a list of messages with one selected at random)
- Create explosions, lightning, visual effects (including particles), sound effects
- Run commands
Ideas
- Give leaves various chances of dropping apples, sticks, cocoa beans, saplings, etc on break and/or leaf decay.
- Make glass, stairs, and boats reclaimable (can be tool-specific if you wish).
- Allow gold and iron to be mined directly into ingots with a golden pickaxe.
- Allow users to right-click on cobblestone with vines in hand to turn the cobblestone mossy.
- Nerf mob traps by disabling drops from environmental damage.
- Unleash the zombie apocalypse by setting zombies to drop zombies when they die! (This can be world-specific.)
- Make mobs that don't normally spawn naturally spawn.
- Make mob spawning, drops, and events biome specific!

Dev Builds
Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk.
Help Wanted
Would you like to help improve OtherDrops? Here are some ways to get involved:
- Media/art: OtherDrops could really do with some tutorial and example videos.
- Testers: Testers who are able to go through the plugin and rigorously check that things (both existing and new features) work as they should. PM Zarius your Skype (or other IM) details if you're interested or jump on the IRC channel.
- Programming: any assistance is welcomed - see the todo list here for some ideas. Anyone with refactoring and/or automated testing experience that wants to assist would be great.

Posted Jul 25, 2012It should override default drops by default but seems there is a bug in the latest version (guessing people seeing this issue are using 2.6 beta 1?).
Will also look into supporting Tekkit.

Posted Jul 24, 2012So I've been trying and trying to override the leaf block drops for a while now and all I'm getting are default drops + whatever OtherDrops includes for customized leaf block drops.
I want to override the default drops so that I can control exactly how often saplings will drop, not add to the default drops.
I was thinking this would be easy but apparently it's not.

Posted Jul 21, 2012One addition I'd like; the ability to use custom items as tools. OtherDrops doesn't recognize pickaxes from Tekkit, even with the data values inputted. Would be nice to see in the future :)

ie. When I set it so sapling drop rates are lower, sapling drop rates stay vanilla :/

Glad you can find it useful :) Unfortunately I haven't had much time free for choosing in the lady few months, I haven't even got my computer set up at the moment and rely on my phone for internet. Time-permitting, and after fixing major bugs in OtherDrops, I'll look into continuing OtherMobs.

The heroes skills don't trigger the normal damage functions I believe, hence OtherDrops doesn't act on it. Will take another look atty it later.

CONTENTS assumes its a container and has items inside it.
Im not sure what you want to do is possible.. What you can do however is create an array of eggs that can potentially fall from a spawner.
This is an example of how you could make 1 spawner drop 1 of either of these items.

Posted Jul 7, 2012If its possible, making potions DRINKABLE instead of just hitting blocks. Apparently right-clicking air doesnt do anything to a potion. They have to know to right-click the ground while holding it, and not actually drink the potion. If you could make it sense that a player drank a potion (Like the several unused ones I want to add use to. Sadly, you cant add new items to brewing stands... Kind of dumb).

Actually, this was probably the most hindering bug of 2.6.1beta. Can't disable/stop mobs from dropping default drops or stop them from dropping stuff in mob arena's even setting a flag telling them to drop: NOTHING inside the mob arena doesn't work fully. This seems to happen far more often with custom drops on pigzombies and silverfish for me though.

All of a sudden this started happening with no added unique drops to long grass.
I get this as a wall of spam every time someone is breaking long grass... Its all I see in console anymore.
Here is what I did.. I had an event where one of the unique drops was rare chance at diamond from long grass inside of a region. This was working no problem for about 24 hours... then all of a sudden I started getting this wall of spam.. So I simply removed the unique drop from the file.
Even after removing the drops from Long Grass the spam still is happening. So I removed all unique drops created for that region.. still wall of spam. So I then removed all unique drops... every single one.. I still get this wall of spam.. even with 0 unique drops..

Posted Jul 5, 2012Hey, i downloaded and installed otherdrops on my server, and i also have heroes on the server, it seems blazes wont drop their intended drops if they are killed by a skill's damage in heroes, they only drop their drops when killed by a physical attack, can you either tell me how to fix this, or if it isnt possible can you make it possible?

Unless something has changed it should automatically ignore mob arenas when checking custom drops.
There is a flag you can use to force it to drop in the mob arena if you do want certain things to drop in there (can't look it up at the moment).
