OtherDrops

Make anything drop anything, anyhow!
Minecraft 1.7 features (click)!!
OtherDrops allows you to add anything from a simple "glass drops glass" or mob rewards, to a complex overhaul of your servers drops with drops differing depending on tools, biome, time, weather and much more, along with custom messages, actions and commands.
OtherDrops is lightweight* (it only acts on what you configure) and respects most protection plugins (eg. WorldGuard, Regios) settings. Many examples are included that you can enable and/or customize as you wish.

Help Wanted
Would you like to help improve OtherDrops? Here are some ways to get involved:
- Media/art: OtherDrops could really do with some tutorial and example videos.
- Testers: Testers who are able to go through the plugin and rigorously check that things (both existing and new features) work as they should. PM Zarius your Skype (or other IM) details if you're interested or jump on the IRC channel.
- Programming: any assistance is welcomed - see the todo list here for some ideas. Anyone with refactoring and/or automated testing experience that wants to assist would be great.
Thanks
Many thanks to these people who helped with OtherDrops:
- Cyklo: creator of the original OtherBlocks. OtherDrops is a continuation of Cyklo's original OtherBlocks (2011) plugin.
- Celtic Minstrel: many code commits and a major overhaul of the code moving into version 2.0. Moved on to create DropFactory.
- Rofang: major update of OtherDrops documentation.
- RugRats13: lots of testing and some documentation.
- Faldonboy & Steelsouls: currently maintaining and improving the documentation.
- CommodoreAlpha: community support on the comments/forum, assisting with documentation.
Many long nights are spent improving OtherDrops so if you like it please consider a donation to my coffee fund :)
- OtherDrops uses Metrics for anonymous usage stats (learn more).

Hawkeye version of 2.5 uploaded to the GitHub page now - you get an early preview :) (as Bukkit is still approving the normal 2.5 version).
@Jadedwolfs
Have read your posts, will respond later - not much time atm.

Looking forward to updating this as I just got our server hosted and making the transition to 1.2! Please take a look at the ticket (#92) I made recently in regards to XP, I am sure it is very possible. Thanks!

Posted Mar 14, 2012Was wondering - could CONTENTS drops be more customized?
For example: CONTENTS@1 would drop one random item, and so on. CONTENTS@FIRST would drop one space of items starting from the first slot. CONTENTS@LAST would drop one space of items starting from the last slot.
For FURNACE drops: CONTENTS@FUEL CONTENTS@PRODUCT CONTENTS@ORE
Of course, this could be a bit much. Not sure if it's quite feasible.

Yes, you will need drop: default for now. I'm looking at adding a setting so you can change this if you want.
@hawkfalcon
Ah, thanks for that. I'll have to release a full 2.5 version soon to fix that.

Problem is due to priorities - OtherDrops runs at priority high and I imagine LikeABoss is running lower than it. This means like a boss runs first, then OtherDrops overrides the drops (if configured for that entity).
I tried to hook into LikeABoss but it didn't work :(

Any time!
I had a question, there is another plugin called 'Like a Boss' that uses custom drops for the boss mobs it spawns. Problem is, OtherDrops seems to override it, mainly due to it not really being different 'mob', just one with more health/damage. Is it possible to allow drops from 'Like a Boss' to occur from the boss mobs it generates without dropping what OtherDrops normally does or is configured to? I only ask so that players that beat these boss mobs would get better drops than normal.
Thanks!
(Or, I can wait for OtherMobs, and have awesome mobs in any case! ;) )

Looks like you're trying to run an older version of OtherDrops with a newer version of Bukkit. Bukkit 1.1R5 and newer (including 1.2.3) wont work with any version of OtherDrops older than 2.5.
@ezbik
Cool - thanks for letting me know, saves some testing :)

Just tested it again, still no poison effect. I made sure I was in god mode by dying first before trying it, test config below:

Sure you don't have god mode on? Poison worked ok last night when I tested, unless I broke something before release it should work.

Posted Mar 12, 2012Beta 2.5 beta2 slight potion bugs:
Poison = Doesn't appear to work, makes hearts green, has swirls, but no effect.
Harm = Same problem, no harm inflicted. Tried setting a negative value too just to see, still notta.
All others appear to work great though! I am gonna have fun with this...

Posted Mar 12, 2012I also thought that "action: eat/consume" would be cool. So you can get confusion once you drunk mushroom stew.
Just an idea/suggestion :D
