OtherDrops

Make anything drop anything, anyhow!
Minecraft 1.7 features (click)!!
OtherDrops allows you to add anything from a simple "glass drops glass" or mob rewards, to a complex overhaul of your servers drops with drops differing depending on tools, biome, time, weather and much more, along with custom messages, actions and commands.
OtherDrops is lightweight* (it only acts on what you configure) and respects most protection plugins (eg. WorldGuard, Regios) settings. Many examples are included that you can enable and/or customize as you wish.

Help Wanted
Would you like to help improve OtherDrops? Here are some ways to get involved:
- Media/art: OtherDrops could really do with some tutorial and example videos.
- Testers: Testers who are able to go through the plugin and rigorously check that things (both existing and new features) work as they should. PM Zarius your Skype (or other IM) details if you're interested or jump on the IRC channel.
- Programming: any assistance is welcomed - see the todo list here for some ideas. Anyone with refactoring and/or automated testing experience that wants to assist would be great.
Thanks
Many thanks to these people who helped with OtherDrops:
- Cyklo: creator of the original OtherBlocks. OtherDrops is a continuation of Cyklo's original OtherBlocks (2011) plugin.
- Celtic Minstrel: many code commits and a major overhaul of the code moving into version 2.0. Moved on to create DropFactory.
- Rofang: major update of OtherDrops documentation.
- RugRats13: lots of testing and some documentation.
- Faldonboy & Steelsouls: currently maintaining and improving the documentation.
- CommodoreAlpha: community support on the comments/forum, assisting with documentation.
Many long nights are spent improving OtherDrops so if you like it please consider a donation to my coffee fund :)
- OtherDrops uses Metrics for anonymous usage stats (learn more).

Added to latest dev build - format is "+<3~6> <mace|sword|dagger> of <lightning|fire>" (that's a tilde for number range, not dash) would result in random strings eg. "+4 sword of fire".

Can you confirm the version of OtherDrops you were using?
@mat41997
Player items to chest is planned (low priority), as is projectile "shoot"ing.
Closest you can get with the diamond is:
@ThePlayingNoob
Thanks, glad you like it :)
@xBladeM6x
Try:
Currently no way (I think) to cancel just the drops and keep XP so you'll need to manually set up XP for all mobs if you really want it from the spawners.
@Noshire
Yes - you can use CREATURE~Name - eg:

Posted Jun 18, 2013Hi Zarius, another quick question: Is there any way to check for mob names? The "lorename" param doesn't work for this obviously; I'd love to have mobs with custom names (for example, a cow named "&cCelestia" drop a diamond on death, or spawn a baby-cow on every hit. We run customspawners on our server, and have a few bosses set up. Would be extremely nice to let them spawn minions or similar stuff through otherdrops!

Triggers can be found here:
http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/otherdrops/pages/triggers/
To make player consume something just add CONSUME in the trigger.
I don't really think you can CONSUME / eat an DIAMOND because it is not consumable item.

That is exactly what I tried at first, but the golems still dropped 3-5 ingots, so I figured I was doing something wrong. I figured it should probably be that easy.
Does it matter if the golem originated by a player spawn or from a village spawn? I'll give it another try tomorrow. Thank you for the reply.

I am working on expanding the guides however did you read the first guide: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/otherdrops/pages/installation/
It details how to drop glass from glass, eg:
Using a mob is the same, eg:

Posted Jun 17, 2013I am absolutely lost. I simply want to make Iron Golems drop 2-3 iron ingots (from any cause of death) rather than the default 3-5.
I can not get it to work, nor find a point in the guide that simply explains how to change creature drops.
Please help...

Will try and get that one in there soon :)
@mat41997
What is ID #397? (please save me the time looking up ID numbers and use the name :)) I assume it might be a skull? If so, that feature is planned, just taking a while as it requires a larger change than first seems apparent.

Posted Jun 17, 2013Hey Zarius! I love your plugin, but I need the mobs in my mmorpg server to drop weapons with random damage. I'm using lore attributes so it only needs "+x Damage" in the item's lore. It would be great if I could make a zombie drop a wooden sword with a random damage value from 5 to 15. If you remember, you also talked about it in my plugin request post. Can you add such a feature in the next update or so? Thank you so much :)

I believe there is meta data that can be used to determine if it's an NPC.
