This plugin is used to counter X-RAY Client mods.
It modifies data that are sent to clients to hide blocks of your choice, such as Ore, chests, dungeons, etc.
It does not manipulate blocks in the world file, thus is safe to use.
ProximityHider is a feature that hides chests that are far from players.
As of 4.3.3, Proximity Hider has been enhanced to use line-of-sight checks, not just proximity! Upgrade today.

It's not related to versions prior to 1.7.x. It was only caused by an internal change in MC 1.7.x that required updating the chunks.

Posted Jan 11, 2014"Version 2.0.5
Fixed chunk trees and other structures being cut when new chunks are generating."
Is this relevant for 1.5.2 servers (Orebfuscator 1.9.7)? How bad is this problem?

The problem is that ProximityHider actually hides the signs, but the chunk still actually contain them, so the sign entity packet is sent after the chunk, which says there is no actual sign there because it's hidden by ProximityHider.
@aadnk @Dman5456
I actually have a solution for that. Will release Orebfuscator again when I fix it.

@lishid: I managed to circumvent this problem in BlockPatcher by delaying the packets (or cancel in your case) until the chunk has been transmitted.
In fact, because of the work I put into AsynchronousManager, that change basically amounted to four new lines of code ...

Posted Jan 9, 2014So, for now there isn't much we could do? Is there anything I could do to keep these messages from coming up? Everything seems like it would work great, but with that happening I would imagine players that have signs in their bases would get found pretty easily.
I know this wasn't the original purpose of your plugin, but it just worked so well at reducing all the sign lag. I have searched high and low for a plugin that would only show signs within reading distance, but I haven't been able to find anything. Orebfuscator is the closest I can get to having that so far.
Also, the proximity hider id doesn't seem to be working properly, if you could look into it. The link you gave for the bug is broken.
I would greatly appreciate your help.

Well... It's caused by this bug in Minecraft: https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-3564‎
ProximityHider just does something that makes it more pronounced than usual.

Posted Jan 8, 2014Hello, every time I move to an area with signs on my server my chat gets flooded with "Unable to locate sign at X, Y, Z". I've found your plugin's proximity hider very useful for reducing sign lag in sign-heavy shop areas on my server by only showing nearby signs.
Also I'm having issues with switching the block proximity hider uses to hide blocks with. I have "UseSpecialBlockForProximityHider: true" but no matter what block id I use in "ProximityHiderID:" it will still use stone. I tried using 0 for air but it ignores it and still uses stone for some reason.
I've uninstalled my NoLagg/BKcommonLib/ProtocolLib/ect to make sure those weren't the cause.
I'm using : CraftBukkit version git-Bukkit-1.7.2-R0.2-3-g530fcb7-b2982jnks (MC: 1.7.2) (Implementing API version 1.7.2-R0.3-SNAPSHOT)
Orebfuscator 2.0.5

That can be safely ignored. If it happens often, I can disable the warning.
@Wizel603
Weird, I added the check the MC does. Maybe it changed name from the two versions? Give me your CB version and I'll take a look.
@stutiguias
That error shows that NoLagg is passing a bad argument causing an error, so it's the problem of NoLagg. For now, disable the chunk buffer system, and warn them that their reflection method calling is using bad parameters.

Posted Jan 5, 2014The invisible features issue still appears to exist in 2.0.5. From what I can tell it only occurs in newly generated chunks (prior to being saved and reloaded from disk). Might this be a race condition that a new chunk is being obfuscated before it has finished being rendered?
Trees I can deal with. It's the invisible lava pools that are doing me in.

It might be because you're not doing a full restart. I'll patch the problem for the next version but a server resets should really be done via restart.

Likely not in a while. I have not been able to find the source code of the core minecraft files that MCPC uses, and it likely changes for every minor version of minecraft so supporting it will be very difficult.

Posted Dec 28, 2013Thank you for your quick answer. Does it mean that you got no solution at the moment for this? So, I should just be patient while you look at the problem and see when you got time, if I got it right. I'll still be available to help by testing on MCPC whenever you need.

Of course... MCPC is not exactly built over bukkit and the internal field names are very different for each internal class. Orebfuscator depends on the internal implementation of Bukkit, and Spigot is a fork of Bukkit, which means it's supported. MCPC on the other hand is very different. I could take a look at it sometimes, though the internals also change from version to version.
