ProximityHider is a feature that hides chests that are far from players.
As of 4.3.3, Proximity Hider has been enhanced to use line-of-sight checks, not just proximity! Upgrade today.

Use engine mode 1 and that won't happen lol
@rfsantos1996
High air gen chance decreases the amount of holes orebfuscator generates (yeah... i implemented it in reverse, and is not a percentage scale) which helps with player FPS. Holes makes Minecraft render more surfaces even if it's hidden inside the world, which impact FPS a little and a lot depending on how much holes there are.

I tried with high AirGenChance (93%) and none of my players noticed the new Engine, but I changed some configs instead of only editing the engine, so I think its something that I changed that fixed the lag "bug".

@rfsantos1996
Hmm that's interesting... Orebfuscator EngineMode 2 only differs with 1 by randomly swapping ores instead of putting all stones, which shouldn't have been rendered by the client anyway... Could you try with anti freecam and texturepack disabled? Thanks.
@jazzman170
Try disabling DamageUpdate. For some reason some rare (you're about the 4th i've heard so far) servers it [damage update] causes that issue.

Posted May 30, 2013I'm having an issue with block lag with stone, only stone, everything else is perfect. Me and my players go mining and when mining stone pops back up for a second then dissapears and drops, dirt however goes perfectly fast. This really slows down mining speeds and is just unsightly! haha. What can be done? I'm not really sure how to reduce block lag with stone. Any suggestions?
MY CONFIG: http://pastebin.com/ne7YHYep
EDIT: I have tested to make sure it was indeed this plugin and it most certainly is, once i restarted server without orbfuscator, stone block lag was gone. My config must be doing something excessive with stone D: Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I always do clearcache and relog, I know that, I'll try increasing AirGenChance, but I was watching a legit player on Skype, with Engine 1 30fps, with 2, 9-10 FPS.
And what about Proximityhider and ore blocks, I need them to show while you walk, instead of only show when damaging blocks

You need to clearcache after changing proximity hider settings.
Engine Mode 2 makes it laggy if you have anti freecam and texture pack turned on with a low AirGenChance, though you can increase AirGenChance to double its value to reduce lag while keeping reasonable protection.
Remember to clear cache (or disable it while testing) whenever you change some values. (also relog to see the results)

Posted May 28, 2013I want to walk in mines and all ores shown, so legit players dont lose anything (with EngineMode 1 and ProximityHider), but if I enable it, it will set all chests to stone too, and players keep complaining about that :/
And Engine mode 2 makes all clients laggy, even with or without Xray mod
@EDIT: After some tests, Proximity Hider for Special Blocks dont make any diference, only for chests, and other things, so with it enabled or disabled, It wont make any difference.

That does look like a memory problem, might be from the cache. Try disabling cache in Orebfuscator.
@ha11oga11o
try using CacheLocation: "D:
orebfuscator_cache"

Posted May 24, 2013Dear lishid,
im using system with SSD but i disabled cache due SSD usage. So i dont spend it too fast. Now, can i create Ram-drive in memory designate it as D:\ and point cache to it? Is it like this:
Strings: CacheLocation: orebfuscator_cache
To bee:
Strings: CacheLocation: D:\orebfuscator_cache
Or how can I do it. It will be nice to have SSD and cache in memory :)
OR... can you make it plugin use memory for caching itself, but to be configurable??
Many thx for past, present and future things you did for us :)
Cheers!

Posted May 24, 2013Dear Lishid I love the concept of your plugin and the hard work you've put in it. I'm having some big issues with it thou, Every 4 - 5 hours chunks stop loading and basicly everyone just fly in middle of void standing on phantom land. I presume it's Oreb's fault.
It shouldnt be a memory problem as the server has 4 gb of ram and uses ssd hard drive.
Restart fixes it only for 4,5 hours

Orebfuscator filters out anything that is transparent since it will cause client side fps lag. Though I could implement an option to disable the check later on.

Posted May 22, 2013I added ice blocks to the orebfuscation list, and nothing is changing. My server uses ice blocks as special blocks, so I'd like them hidden(players hide them in the ground). This worked just fine with the built-in spigot orebfuscation. I've added to it to Orebfuscation and Random blocks.

The spigot implementation had basically less hassle to intercept chunks as it was written directly into CraftBukkit. But they both takes the chunks at the same time and process them nearly identically. Though Spigot did not have ProximityHider and a bunch of other features included in the plugin, which should have been somewhat less impactful to performance.

Thanks, means I'll be using the plugin then =p
I am curious though. I thought part of the reason for integrating it with spigot was increased performance because it would access the chunks before they were compressed. But the plugin version has better performance?
