This plugin is used to counter X-RAY Client mods.
It modifies data that are sent to clients to hide blocks of your choice, such as Ore, chests, dungeons, etc.
It does not manipulate blocks in the world file, thus is safe to use.
ProximityHider is a feature that hides chests that are far from players.
As of 4.3.3, Proximity Hider has been enhanced to use line-of-sight checks, not just proximity! Upgrade today.

Posted Aug 1, 2012I just downloaded the most recent version to try out on a test server. I deleted my old config and restarted after receiving errors the first time. Restarted the server and turned off, through the in game commands, the no op obfuscation and the permissions no obfuscation.
Any chance you could tell me what is causing these errors?

Sorry... That option is nonexistant right now... I might implement it later, but atm most people either want it enabled or disabled, always.

That's a feature called ProximityHider to hide stuff like chests, crafting tables, etc, from x-ray hackers. If it's not necessary on your server (i.e. if you don't care about x-ray hackers finding secret chests, etc), you can disable it in the config.

It should be enabled by default... My fault, must have touched it accidentally. Using it helps reduce CPU load, but results in more disk usage.

No, when a person hacks, the server won't know. Instead, the server sends to everyone stuff that screws hidden blocks, which only hackers would be affected.
This makes hacking much much less effective (practically not usable).
@midnightfang22
It's safe to ignore. Just an error writing to a cache file, which can have multiple causes. Not really affecting anything.

Posted Jul 28, 2012Got this error today and was wondering if anyone knows how to fix it or whats causing it. This error also appeared in 1.5.3, but I saw it after we updated so I was waiting to see if it happened again after updating, which it did for me. http://pastebin.com/tvxMLNDM

It renders the xray mod much less effective or even useless.
No banning etc. You might try to re - read the description above (right at the start) - it does not detect xray , but manipulate the region data sent to the clients such that they can not see ores that are not exposed to them anyway, once people mine they can discover ores which where hidden before.

Posted Jul 28, 2012Sorry if this question is to obvious or I didn't see it in the text but when a person uses an x-ray mod do you get notified about that or will it auto-ban him?

Still the same difference. Engine mode 1 replaces everything with stone (and air sometimes) while Engine Mode 2 replace everything with a random block from the RandomBlocks list, which is much more effective against all kinds of x-ray hacks.

So what is the difference now between engine mode 1 and 2?

All blocks that are not supposed to be seen are changed into random blocks. (If you're on Engine mode 2)
