Movecraft
NOW MOVED TO SPIGOTMC, CHECK HERE FOR NEWER VERSIONS:
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/movecraft.31321/

A Brief Description
Movecraft is a plugin that has been designed to give purpose to those extremely large (and awesome) oceans as well as to simply give the option to Sail, Drive, or Pilot amazing Ships, Creations, or Zeppelins. It allows the player and/or players to craft Vessels out of blocks that can be piloted and thus moved. Hence the name MoveCraft.
Credit
Movecraft was first created by Yogoda for hMod.
Movecraft 3 is a complete recode. It's only similarity to the Movecraft of Yogada is it's name.

Permissions
Movecraft uses the following permissions:
movecraft.<craft name>.pilot
movecraft.<craft name>.move
movecraft.<craft name>.rotate
movecraft.<craft name>.repair
For example, if you have a craft named "Airship", you would need movecraft.Airship.pilot, movecraft.Airship.move, and movecraft.Airship.rotate in order to completely use it.
There is also:
movecraft.<craft name>.create - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.cruisesign - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.commands - grants access to /pilot, /cruise, /release, /rotateleft, /rotateright, /craftreport
You can also control these granularly with:
movecraft.commands.release
movecraft.commands.pilot
movecraft.commands.rotateleft
movecraft.commands.rotateright
movecraft.commands.cruise
movecraft.commands.craftreport
Dependencies
Movecraft does not require any other plugin to function, however certain features require additional plugins:
WorldEdit (>6.0) - For repair system
Vault - For payment system
In addition, the following plugins are supported for compatibility:
Cannons - Cannons will move with a piloted craft
WorldGuard - Region protection
Most common permission plugins - Assign permissions to various craft features

Add it to the structure block list inside the .craft file?

I must be placing it wrong then. If I put it on front/back of the ship it doesn't wish to stay attached. if I put it inside the ship (so it can't escape) it says movement obstructed. Likely a plugin conflict then I presume, I run several different types.

Is there any non-buggy means of lighting a boat yet? Without you know, setting it on fire that is. Documentation says no but I thought I'd ask the guy who wrote the code if there's some way to manipulate something.

Waterborne boats haven't been implemented yet, so the option is not yet available.

Well I wanted say two types of craft, aircraft and a boat. Basically one thing that doesn't leave the ground and one thing that does, It's really not important but I'm anal about certain oddball stuff. Boats that fly, say being one of them. I can live with it if it's not possible though, and am already amazed at how smooth it works.

Posted Mar 31, 2013I put a type "aircraft" as an example format .txt (?) in the "types". I tried to make a version of "ship" but I'm not sure of the result. I'm really not good when it comes to setup. Result: the plugin will always appear in the list of plugins on the server but could not find the /movecraft and nothing happens when I try the signs.
You would not have a complete Movecraft File to set example for those who have trouble with their brains? x)

Remote is on the roadmap to return under the guise of admin tools. Will probably be in a future version.

Posted Mar 31, 2013Yeeehah. It works! Thanks for the release, at last. I sorta miss hyperspace, it wasn't very useful but it was funny as hell. It would require disabling the rather neat new collision detection (one of the better new features).
More usefully, some kind of player- or group-based permission feature on the signs would be handy, to stop people from hijacking craft (this used to be possible in MC1). Also, apart from boats and subs, there used to be a ground-based "car" which was fun too.
The "remote" feature was another useful feature I miss. Pie in the Sky, I know :)
ps: block 33 occurs twice in the default aircraft.craft file ;) I amended mine to add slabs etc, and all is working well (as are the other variations I made). Good work!

Posted Mar 31, 2013Follow up: Interesting.... I'm with fragnet and if I stop/start/restart the server using their main panel it never saves the crates to file BUT if I use McMyAdmin to do it, the data IS properly saved. So yeah, if you use fragnet, don't use their main panel if you want the crate data saved :)
EDIT - one more thing, I have a craft which is partly made of snow blocks (data 80) and I added it to the list of craft blocks no problem, but when I move the craft now the odd snow block "pops" into snowballs as if someone just hit it with a shovel.

That error comes from the /plugins/movecraft/crates folder not being created.
Movecraft writes out crate data to /plugins/movecraft/crates/inventories.txt , if this file cannot be created, or is deleted, all existing chests will lose their inventories and throw errors.
I suggest checking whether your server shut down correctly last time, and if so, whether the crates directory was created.

Posted Mar 31, 2013New version was working great until this morning when I restarted the server. When I click on a storage crate nothing happens and the following error appears in the log:
2013-03-31 14:14:39 [SEVERE] Could not pass event BlockBreakEvent to Movecraft v3.1.17 org.bukkit.event.EventException at org.bukkit.plugin.java.JavaPluginLoader$1.execute(JavaPluginLoader.java:427) at org.bukkit.plugin.RegisteredListener.callEvent(RegisteredListener.java:62) at org.bukkit.plugin.SimplePluginManager.fireEvent(SimplePluginManager.java:477) at org.bukkit.plugin.SimplePluginManager.callEvent(SimplePluginManager.java:462) at net.minecraft.server.v1_5_R2.PlayerInteractManager.breakBlock(PlayerInteractManager.java:276) at net.minecraft.server.v1_5_R2.PlayerInteractManager.a(PlayerInteractManager.java:203) at net.minecraft.server.v1_5_R2.PlayerConnection.a(PlayerConnection.java:554) at net.minecraft.server.v1_5_R2.Packet14BlockDig.handle(SourceFile:46) at net.minecraft.server.v1_5_R2.NetworkManager.b(NetworkManager.java:292) at net.minecraft.server.v1_5_R2.PlayerConnection.d(PlayerConnection.java:110) at net.minecraft.server.v1_5_R2.ServerConnection.b(SourceFile:35) at net.minecraft.server.v1_5_R2.DedicatedServerConnection.b(SourceFile:30) at net.minecraft.server.v1_5_R2.MinecraftServer.r(MinecraftServer.java:578) at net.minecraft.server.v1_5_R2.DedicatedServer.r(DedicatedServer.java:225) at net.minecraft.server.v1_5_R2.MinecraftServer.q(MinecraftServer.java:474) at net.minecraft.server.v1_5_R2.MinecraftServer.run(MinecraftServer.java:407) at net.minecraft.server.v1_5_R2.ThreadServerApplication.run(SourceFile:573) Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException at net.countercraft.movecraft.listener.BlockListener.onBlockBreak(BlockListener.java:84) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) at org.bukkit.plugin.java.JavaPluginLoader$1.execute(JavaPluginLoader.java:425) ... 16 more
I had a look in the movecraft folder on FTP and couldn't see any file which would contain the data for the storage chests, only the config.yml which just lists the locale. I'm guessing the error is from it looking for something that isn't there?

The supply crate uses piston with data ID 6. I discovered this greatly resembled a crate and implemented the functionality. It is a new block implemented without the need for mods.

The same sort of idea yes. It does it in a slightly optimised fashion, but it is the same idea.
