Movecraft
NOW MOVED TO SPIGOTMC, CHECK HERE FOR NEWER VERSIONS:
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/movecraft.31321/

A Brief Description
Movecraft is a plugin that has been designed to give purpose to those extremely large (and awesome) oceans as well as to simply give the option to Sail, Drive, or Pilot amazing Ships, Creations, or Zeppelins. It allows the player and/or players to craft Vessels out of blocks that can be piloted and thus moved. Hence the name MoveCraft.
Credit
Movecraft was first created by Yogoda for hMod.
Movecraft 3 is a complete recode. It's only similarity to the Movecraft of Yogada is it's name.

Permissions
Movecraft uses the following permissions:
movecraft.<craft name>.pilot
movecraft.<craft name>.move
movecraft.<craft name>.rotate
movecraft.<craft name>.repair
For example, if you have a craft named "Airship", you would need movecraft.Airship.pilot, movecraft.Airship.move, and movecraft.Airship.rotate in order to completely use it.
There is also:
movecraft.<craft name>.create - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.cruisesign - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.commands - grants access to /pilot, /cruise, /release, /rotateleft, /rotateright, /craftreport
You can also control these granularly with:
movecraft.commands.release
movecraft.commands.pilot
movecraft.commands.rotateleft
movecraft.commands.rotateright
movecraft.commands.cruise
movecraft.commands.craftreport
Dependencies
Movecraft does not require any other plugin to function, however certain features require additional plugins:
WorldEdit (>6.0) - For repair system
Vault - For payment system
In addition, the following plugins are supported for compatibility:
Cannons - Cannons will move with a piloted craft
WorldGuard - Region protection
Most common permission plugins - Assign permissions to various craft features

Right clicking the sign works with any item. Doesnt have to be a stick.
As for the actual movement, that might well come down to a choice until the engine sign is implemented.

Posted Apr 1, 2013Hello!,
First of all thanks for updating Movecraft, always been a big fan. Anyways.
Are there any other items then a stick to use? I have MagicSpells as one of my plugins and I can't right click the sign. I place the sign, write "aircraft" on the first line and it doesn't do anything after that, even when I right click it. It thinks my stick is a wand.
Any way to work around that or do I have to decided between MagicSpells or Movecraft?

I've been using NotepadPlusPlus for such files. I got the latest dev build of craftbukkit yesterday on attempt. Anyways I'll play with removing plugins and such to see if I can find a cure. I'll let you know in case someone else like me comes along.
Edit: Sorry no good. Tried it locally with nothing but Movecraft running and it's the same issue. Glowstone permanently illuminates water under it. I'll just have to wait for future releases I reckon.

Posted Apr 1, 2013So looking at the statistics it would appear some people have problems with .craft files, as per :
So I'm going to work on making the format a bit more accessible and getting a tutorial video up.

Because the example is not designed for you to copy MadRealms, it's an example. The example for fly blocks is between no glass and completely made out of glass. If you want it to be wool, it is a simple change.
@Methlon
Glow stone works fine, confirmed on MadRealms. Perhaps try using the latest available build. It is likely because you are not using a YAML capable text editor. I suggest sublime text 2 for modifying .craft files

Posted Apr 1, 2013Could the flyblocks explanation be better worded? From the default airplane example, it looks like it requires either 0 percent of the ship to be glass OR 100 percent. That sounds pretty ridiculous. Since most servers require the ship to have a certain number of wools or be made out of a certain percentage of wools, why not make a default example that looks like that?

It doesn't though. I've tested this twice. It could possibly be a plugin conflict, but as it stands for me I'm not allowed to expand on the list. I can replace, but not expand.

If you add stairs/ladders to the blocks list in the .craft file it should work fine.

Posted Mar 31, 2013Also a severe lighting glitch. Every area that the ship travels over stays illuminated.. That part seems to be restricted to water. (Glowstone). It's also quite permanent. Restarts won't remove the lit water.

Posted Mar 31, 2013I have noticed that adding to the list causes problems. Adding stairs, ladders.. prevents piloting.
Also, Dunno why but it went from 100% spruce to an oak mix and my center mass disappeared, and beds appeared kinda sorta not completely.

Posted Mar 31, 2013Hey AJC, are cars planned for a later date, or are we likely only looking at air/watercraft? Cars were a lot of fun in movecraft 1, and their movement, while not always perfect, really well accommodated the lack of flat ground in game.

Posted Mar 31, 2013Ok got it. It's all my fault :)
I had two copies of the .craft file (one for a messup backup). The plugin was trying to use both at the same time.. Second I killed the other one, worked.
Hope I didn't have you bashing your brains in with confusion.

Edited:
Added it, it broke it. I re-downloaded it and replaced one of the - 33 items (was in there twice) Works again, but still thinks it's travel is obstructed with the glowstone.. aaand am now unable to make right turns (rotations) lol
