Movecraft
NOW MOVED TO SPIGOTMC, CHECK HERE FOR NEWER VERSIONS:
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/movecraft.31321/

A Brief Description
Movecraft is a plugin that has been designed to give purpose to those extremely large (and awesome) oceans as well as to simply give the option to Sail, Drive, or Pilot amazing Ships, Creations, or Zeppelins. It allows the player and/or players to craft Vessels out of blocks that can be piloted and thus moved. Hence the name MoveCraft.
Credit
Movecraft was first created by Yogoda for hMod.
Movecraft 3 is a complete recode. It's only similarity to the Movecraft of Yogada is it's name.
Documentation, Tutorials, Quick Start Guide, and Demo Videos
For documentation and information, use this link:

Also the builds on that site are more up to date than the builds on this site, so download the latest version there. Please be aware the builds on that site have not been checked by the dev.bukkit.org staff, so use at your own risk.
Here is a brief summary of Movecraft features covered on that site:
Control Method Options
- Sign and Pilot Tool
- Sign only
- Direct Control (the players movements control the craft)
- Misc Commands - /manoverboard, /release, etc
- Remote Signs to remotely activate command signs from other parts of the ship (Turn turrets, launch torpedoes, etc)
Craft Options
- Basic craft configuration options including size, speed, allowed block types, required blocks, etc
- Customizable Cruise Control to keep the craft moving forward
- Customizable Fuel Burning behavior
- Customizable sinking/crashing behavior including smoke, explosion on impact, and uncontrollable dives
- Restricting motion to horizontal or vertical planes
- Customizable "Hover" land contour following behavior for cars and surface vehicles
- Optional craft teleportation
- Require water contact for sailing ships and water craft

- Man Overboard timeout to allow anyone who falls out of a craft to get back in it
- Configurable WorldGuard protection against moving into forbidden areas or sinking over protected areas
Permissions
Movecraft uses the following permissions:
movecraft.<craft name>.pilot
movecraft.<craft name>.move
movecraft.<craft name>.rotate
movecraft.<craft name>.repair
For example, if you have a craft named "Airship", you would need movecraft.Airship.pilot, movecraft.Airship.move, and movecraft.Airship.rotate in order to completely use it.
There is also:
movecraft.<craft name>.create - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.cruisesign - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.commands - grants access to /pilot, /cruise, /release, /rotateleft, /rotateright, /craftreport
You can also control these granularly with:
movecraft.commands.release
movecraft.commands.pilot
movecraft.commands.rotateleft
movecraft.commands.rotateright
movecraft.commands.cruise
movecraft.commands.craftreport
Dependencies
Movecraft does not require any other plugin to function, however certain features require additional plugins:
WorldEdit (>6.0) - For repair system
Vault - For payment system
In addition, the following plugins are supported for compatibility:
Cannons - Cannons will move with a piloted craft
WorldGuard - Region protection
Most common permission plugins - Assign permissions to various craft features

Posted Jan 25, 2013The amount of monetization in the minecraft community makes me sick... stuff like this is the result of it.
I too would be really grateful if you could come up with a solution... it would be very sad if a handful of assholes can ruin it for dozens of honest server admins and all their players.

Yes! I really do want a new version, however poorly it is written. Me and all my players used Movecraft all the time, and until I got rid of it, we never realized how much we relied on it. If you could just get a version out that allows flight and turning, I think everyone would be ecstatic.

""""but if you want I could provide you with a compiled and obsfucated file that checked against our servers.""""
Please please please do. I think that everyone here would really appreciate it, and despite however poorly the version we have was written, it has certainly proven resilient to updates/changes; I am sure that your code would do the same, and as it fixes a lot of the longstanding issues with movecraft I think you'd see that that would prove to be a worthy and solid release for a lot of long waiting people. That would be absolutely amazing and I know I'm not alone in saying that.

Serial codes and blacklists is a very risky path to take, and it will also be useless unless the code is compiled in an obsfcated form.
The version on here is pretty terrible, and I believe the source for it is on my github. The code for the 1.4.6 MoverLib is in a private repository, but if you want I could provide you with a compiled and obsfucated file that checked against our servers.
Finally, I already have released it under All Rights Reserved, releasing it under a more liberal license will not stop people selling the code for private profit, and that is the part I so vehemently appose.

Posted Jan 25, 2013I understand you very well :( ... but there is a solution. Release it under license, there are many that will protect your author rights.
Another option is release it for small group verified servers with some type of serial number/code and verification aginst your server/web, or keep important data on your side.
It's nice to hear about finishing Movecraft 2 but even more sad is that we will never see it :(
... so I return to old code again, I have fixed more than 90% bugs for 1.4.6, added some futures, but I can't fix them all ... and again - no one sees it.

Various people were selling the released version of movecraft for their own financial game.
They refused to desist and as a result I ceased to publish the versions. Movecraft 2 was actually finished in October and my hiatus from releases is a manifestation at my anger.

Posted Jan 24, 2013Thanks for quick answer.
Sorry I don't understand what you wish to say.
We are welcome to make separete thread from your last published version or to make own plugin from the beginning?
I don't want to attack you or something else. As former software developer and server admin I appreciate the work of plugin developers. Can you tell us some of actions of these a**holes?
It's sad that project stuck due to stupidity of some people. I program for over 15 years in VB, C#, php etc. but never in Java. Thought I don't have free time, I started learn Java few months ago just because your work looks like frozen and our server wants to keep your plugin alive.
I think I speak for more people in this thread when I say that we do not use any A...craft or some else plugin, because Movecraft is and always been better than everything else.
Please give us helping hand and do not let it end this way.

You are welcome to publish what you know or have using the source code tha exists for the last iteration of movecraft.
The source code for this version remains mine, because contrary to popular belief I did not stop working on it and disappear, I simply ceased to publish it because of the actions of some unnamed arseholes.
I will remain working on this project, and in charge of this page, meanwhile you are welcome to have your own.

Posted Jan 24, 2013I have same question, why don't publish last version of sourcecode, when project dies more than half a year? Many servers who want to keep this great plugin, must make same updates in decompiled code or add more limitations to config. But they all do same things ... because here everyone is asleep.
It's problem make it OpenSource or recruite any of people who want to do what you do not? Give us blessing and some chance to publish, what we know, in one place and keep the project alive.

Posted Jan 24, 2013I think given the current feelings of the community that the least you could do is release the source of the one year old version so that we could better fend for ourselves. As I and many others have said, this is a community project that was maintained by multiple people over many months.
It isn't like madrealms won't still have their exclusivity with the version they have. :P
EDIT: Can get the source through the JAR; my bad, new to this crap :P

The source of the current release is not published.
You can of course decompile but won't output the actual source code.

Posted Jan 21, 2013OK, I give up. Someone else will have to take over this plugin, because this page (and plugin) has clearly been abandoned. I donated to AJC back in the day, but that got us all nowhere (his git repo hasn't twitched in more than 6 months). Maybe we few Movecraft fans that remain can band together and find a new developer? I know a few who need work, and there is an offer of Free Jenkins elsewhere on BukkitDev too. Who's with me?

Look on the previous page for an essay on it written around 2 weeks back. No response from striker. If airships are a must for you I'd point you in the direction of Autocraft, at least until Movecraft gets updated.

Posted Jan 10, 2013I have waited for this for slightly over a year. I appreciate all you have done for this plugin (which is still the most fun on my server), but you owe it to all of us now to tell us whether you intend to release it to the public, or just for Madrealms. I do honestly applaud you for all of the work you have done on this, but at this point, an answer would be very much appreciated.
