Movecraft
NOW MOVED TO SPIGOTMC, CHECK HERE FOR NEWER VERSIONS:
https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/movecraft.31321/

A Brief Description
Movecraft is a plugin that has been designed to give purpose to those extremely large (and awesome) oceans as well as to simply give the option to Sail, Drive, or Pilot amazing Ships, Creations, or Zeppelins. It allows the player and/or players to craft Vessels out of blocks that can be piloted and thus moved. Hence the name MoveCraft.
Credit
Movecraft was first created by Yogoda for hMod.
Movecraft 3 is a complete recode. It's only similarity to the Movecraft of Yogada is it's name.
Documentation, Tutorials, Quick Start Guide, and Demo Videos
For documentation and information, use this link:
http://www.planetminecraft.com/mod/movecraft-reloaded---loraxe42s-fork/
Also the builds on that site are more up to date than the builds on this site, so download the latest version there. Please be aware the builds on that site have not been checked by the dev.bukkit.org staff, so use at your own risk.
Here is a brief summary of Movecraft features covered on that site:
Control Method Options
- Sign and Pilot Tool
- Sign only
- Direct Control (the players movements control the craft)
- Misc Commands - /manoverboard, /release, etc
- Remote Signs to remotely activate command signs from other parts of the ship (Turn turrets, launch torpedoes, etc)
Craft Options
- Basic craft configuration options including size, speed, allowed block types, required blocks, etc
- Customizable Cruise Control to keep the craft moving forward
- Customizable Fuel Burning behavior
- Customizable sinking/crashing behavior including smoke, explosion on impact, and uncontrollable dives
- Restricting motion to horizontal or vertical planes
- Customizable "Hover" land contour following behavior for cars and surface vehicles
- Optional craft teleportation
- Require water contact for sailing ships and water craft
- Crafts that explode when they collide with things for ramming or torpedoes
- Repair signs to repair your ship, requires mats, and can require a fee
Server Options
- Customizable Pilot Tool for craft control (or you can disable it to force sign only movement)
- Man Overboard timeout to allow anyone who falls out of a craft to get back in it
- Configurable WorldGuard protection against moving into forbidden areas or sinking over protected areas
Permissions
Movecraft uses the following permissions:
movecraft.<craft name>.pilot
movecraft.<craft name>.move
movecraft.<craft name>.rotate
movecraft.<craft name>.repair
For example, if you have a craft named "Airship", you would need movecraft.Airship.pilot, movecraft.Airship.move, and movecraft.Airship.rotate in order to completely use it.
There is also:
movecraft.<craft name>.create - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.cruisesign - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.commands - grants access to /pilot, /cruise, /release, /rotateleft, /rotateright, /craftreport
You can also control these granularly with:
movecraft.commands.release
movecraft.commands.pilot
movecraft.commands.rotateleft
movecraft.commands.rotateright
movecraft.commands.cruise
movecraft.commands.craftreport
Dependencies
Movecraft does not require any other plugin to function, however certain features require additional plugins:
WorldEdit (>6.0) - For repair system
Vault - For payment system
In addition, the following plugins are supported for compatibility:
Cannons - Cannons will move with a piloted craft
WorldGuard - Region protection
Most common permission plugins - Assign permissions to various craft features

Gotcha, looks like it couldn't load due to an error with that Airship.craft file. It quits if there is an error, that's probably why you don't see it in game. Check your Airship.craft file. A common mistake is to put a 1 where you need a 1.0 (IE: the ".0" needs to be there). The craft's "Speed" is one such setting that needs the .0
@daPoseidonGuy
I'll PM you the beta build link. Please let me know if you have any problems, particularly with the chests. In the video I mention the AA guns are loaded with "fireball charges" but I guess I didn't draw enough attention to it. I was worried about the video being too long that no one would watch it, so I moved pretty quickly. Here are the fireball charges I was talking about:
http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Fire_Charge
You can also load the same guns with arrows for ground assaults. In the Royal Navy Destroyer I linked earlier it has a mechanism that uses lava to turn them into flaming arrows, which are much more effective. Lots of fun to wipe out a whole swarm of zombies with the Destroyer.
EDIT: Important note: the fireball charges can and will burn down forests and wood buildings, sometimes even miles behind what you are shooting at. Be careful what you point your guns at! If your just messing around, use arrows/flaming arrows. They are much safer.

No, I dont even know how to get a beta build. If it would help, how can i get it? and the weapons video shows how to make the aaguns, which is basically a dispenser and a clock, but doesnt show what to load it with. and also, for the ship small ship thing again. is there a wayto have like the floor of al smaller ship make up part of the bigger ship, and then make it lower like from the bottom of the ship? (its kinda hard to explain.) and the server is mc.villagecraft-server.net, were goin live and public the upcoming monday (not today)

Yeah yeah I know, assume I know quite some basic stuff :D Any ideas? :/ The folder gets created, craft files added, configs made etc... But ingame, there's nothing. Permissions should be fine, but i dont even see the mod as active ingame
edit: server says "Error parsing CraftType file from directory : C:\Users\Patrick\Desktop\Games\Minecraft Server\plugins\Movecraft\types\Airship.craft". But the main problem right now is that you can't see MoveCraft ingame whatsoever.
edit2: OOOH i think i know what it was. The Airskiff min size was set to 10. but i constructed a test vehicle like yours in the video (9 blocks). So I'll try again with the beta build

You actually need to extract the .jar from inside the .zip and place it in the plugins directory.

Thanks for the beta build! Unfortunately, the server doesn't even recognize the plugin as installed(ingame, that is). I even tried compatibility mode, but nothing works :/

Hey, can you tell me where I can find your latest beta build with chest support? I'd really love to try that as I have chests in my aircraft that I would like to stay there :)

Looks like you are running minecraft 1.7.4, the most recent fully compatible version is 1.7.2. I haven't had a chance to try it on 1.7.4 yet.
EDIT: Disregard above. Tested with 1.7.4 and it looks ok. What server is this?
Looking through the trace, this could be chest related. Chests are only supported on the latest version, which is not yet available on this site. If you are using the beta build that should support chests, and having this problem, I need to know. If you are using the release build on this site then it could be due to using chests on your ship.

and what i meant by dropping is that every time the ship moved the dispensers would lose their contents and also, i meant like how at one point they literally lowered out of the bottom of the ship

For AAGuns take a look at the weapon / combat video (the first bit is about submarines, skip that) -
http:www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fqiFtyz3FE - shows you how to use them
http:www.youtube.com/watch?v=85nOAJdrIBg - shows you how to make them
If you had things falling of your dispensers then something was seriously wrong. Are you sure they weren't "droppers"? To make fighters that can fly out of airships is easy. The big ship is the "Airship" and the fighter is an "Airskiff". Make a hangar on the airship with "hardened clay" and land the airskiff on it. Because "hardened clay" is part of the airship, but not part of the airskiff, the fighter can take off and land on it. Careful not to park touching the wool parts of the bigger Airship.
The Royal Navy Destroyer found here: http://www.minecraft-schematics.com/schematic/1716/
Has a sizeable hangar bay with several fighters in it. Download that and paste it with WorldEdit so you can see how everything works.

Posted Jan 19, 2014never mind about the glitches, it was because of spigot. But, in some of ur videos you show pods coming out of the bely of an airship. how do you do that. I even tried using the subairship or subairskiff but they dont work either.
EDIT: Also, the aaguns, whenever u move dispensers drop their contents, so how do i load them

Could you describe the circumstances where you experience lag? And the glitch with cruise control? A common mistake is to make a craft with the speed set too high. I personally favor a speed of less than 1.0 for big ships and use cruiseskipblocks to make up the difference. A common problem with the cruise control is that every time the ship moves it must teleport the player, which makes it hard to turn off cruise control. This is lessened by having less frequent updates with the above method to lower speed, but is ultimately unavoidable with the current Minecraft teleport code. You can stop cruising using /release if you can't get to the sign.
Word is the next major release (Minecraft 1.8) may include relative movement, which could improve this situation considerably.

Posted Jan 18, 2014Please make an update causing it to have less lag, i know all these plugins come with lag, but this is the laggiest of them all, but it has the best functionality. I am currently using ships and would definetly switch to movecraft if it had less lag
EDIT: Also, cruise control is extremely glitched

This is easily simulated by making all blocks flyblocks. I would be skeptical of the need for any change.

Posted Jan 18, 2014Sinking: Would it be possible to implement a 2nd, simpler sinking algorithm? We are having trouble designing ships that are not impossible to sink. It would be nice if I could just say, "if X percent of ALL non-air blocks are destroyed, ship sinks", instead of having to play with all of the "fly blocks" and percentages.
I appreciate the current system, but sometimes it is a lot of trouble when we just want to build wild ships and attack each other. :)

It would appear that new enforcement from dev.bukkit.org moderators prevent any links to downloads of any kind other than the approved .jar files in the files section. This is affecting other plugins as well.
Other plugins, like WorldEdit and Essentials, get around this by linking to another page off of dev.bukkit.org which hosts the downloads. Movecraft doesn't have another page, and I'm not looking forward to trying to manage a separate page for it. So, at this time, the best I can do is point you to the youtube videos, which have a link to the example .craft files. For example, this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fqiFtyz3FE - the Weapon / Combat video
Has the link to the .zip containing the example .craft files in the description.

Posted Jan 17, 2014Why were the .craft files removed from the page, There really needs to be a big set of example craft files to get going!

Thank you for understanding! But your right people can come to a graveyard and find really good loot, maybe diamonds in a chest? Maybe adding a cooldown thing where you can set how long the reck will be on the ground for, so lets say 2 days in real life then after 2 days the reck(s) will clear away! Thanks!

For help setting up Movecraft, you should read through the quick setup guide or watch the tutorial. Both talk about downloading the .craft files and unzipping them to the types directory.

Dissapearing wrecks might be something that could be added as an option.
Personally, I really like the wrecks left behind after a great battle. It provides some realism. Stepping into an airship graveyard after a great battle can be almost awe-inspiring.
And wrecks can provide interesting opportunities for salvage operations, particularly underwater. Some ships leave a wealth of materials behind in their wrecks, and if you have the equipment to recover it from the deep ocean (IE: a salvage sub), you can get some good materials that way. It's a great way to keep your own ships armed and outfitted.
But I concede some servers may find the wrecks cluttering their landscape annoying after a while. Remember that you can disable the sinking behavior if it is causing problems, but that may not be a perfect solution either if you want to keep the sinking for PVP reasons.

Oh ok. Could you add in the next update if a airship or something sinks or dies can you make it where the ship will disappear/clear up once it hits the ground because it would be bad if there was spam of ships everywhere! Thanks!
