NOW MOVED TO SPIGOTMC, CHECK HERE FOR NEWER VERSIONS:

A Brief Description
Movecraft is a plugin that has been designed to give purpose to those extremely large (and awesome) oceans as well as to simply give the option to Sail, Drive, or Pilot amazing Ships, Creations, or Zeppelins. It allows the player and/or players to craft Vessels out of blocks that can be piloted and thus moved. Hence the name MoveCraft.
Credit
Movecraft was first created by Yogoda for hMod.
Movecraft 3 is a complete recode. It's only similarity to the Movecraft of Yogada is it's name.

Craft Options
- Basic craft configuration options including size, speed, allowed block types, required blocks, etc
- Customizable Cruise Control to keep the craft moving forward
- Customizable Fuel Burning behavior
- Customizable sinking/crashing behavior including smoke, explosion on impact, and uncontrollable dives

Permissions
Movecraft uses the following permissions:
movecraft.<craft name>.pilot
movecraft.<craft name>.move
movecraft.<craft name>.rotate
movecraft.<craft name>.repair
For example, if you have a craft named "Airship", you would need movecraft.Airship.pilot, movecraft.Airship.move, and movecraft.Airship.rotate in order to completely use it.
There is also:
movecraft.<craft name>.create - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.cruisesign - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.commands - grants access to /pilot, /cruise, /release, /rotateleft, /rotateright, /craftreport
You can also control these granularly with:
movecraft.commands.release
movecraft.commands.pilot
movecraft.commands.rotateleft
movecraft.commands.rotateright
movecraft.commands.cruise
movecraft.commands.craftreport
Dependencies
Movecraft does not require any other plugin to function, however certain features require additional plugins:
WorldEdit (>6.0) - For repair system
Vault - For payment system
In addition, the following plugins are supported for compatibility:
Cannons - Cannons will move with a piloted craft
WorldGuard - Region protection
Most common permission plugins - Assign permissions to various craft features

Finally someone gets it :D
Yes that is pretty much it.
I do apologise for the falling out though, I thought that problem was fixed.
Please feel free to add feature requests on the github page if there is something you think the plugin currently lacks.
Finally, once and for all, MOVECRAFT HAS ONE COMMAND ONLY, /release

Hey Hudyman, on my server which is working with Movecraft, I also can't run "/movecraft". I don't think that's an actual command. Maybe it was in previous versions?
I could tell I had the plugin working when I saw this in the server console:
21:51:56 [INFO] [Movecraft] [V 3.1.26] has been enabled.
Then its a matter of setting up permissions, and defining a .craft file that makes sense to you.
For me it was something like this:
1 - Set up the plugin - get error due to wrong version of bukkit, re-read the website, get correct version
2 - Get the above entry in the console, so I know its basically working
3 - Create a simple ship, try to place signpost with "Aircraft" as the first line. Right click the sign, nothing happens. Create a sign that says " [helm]". Right click that, it turns into the wheel symbol. So it must be kind of working.
4 - Grant OP permissions. Now right click the "Aircraft" signpost, get some kind of error. I think it might have been "illegal block" or something like that. But still, progress...
5 - Edit aircraft.craft file, add all the allowed blocks from the Ships plugin. Change the forbidden block to 6 (bedrock). Add some specs to make things a challenge. 60% wool and 10% redstone blocks in my case. Reboot server.
6 - Get back in, right click "Aircraft" signpost, get errors saying not enough wool or redstone blocks. Work through the errors until I have something that follows my specs, and get a success message.
7 - Fly around.
Well, and then fall out when I try to turn, but its a work in progress :)

Posted May 27, 2013I wanted to drop a line congratulating AJCStriker on an excellent plugin, although it is clearly unfinished. It shows great potential. Me and my family have very much enjoyed building airships of various sizes on our private server. We started with a standard aircraft design, with a nose and a cockpit along with a tail and fins. Unfortunately it seems turning is buggy right now, so whenever we turn we get booted out of the airship. So we switched to small "flying saucer" type designs. On these, facing doesn't matter so they are a real joy to fly. My girls are only 9 and 7, and they had no problem learning the controls or how to build simple airships once I got the plugin working and got the rules laid out.
A few suggestions for people:
1 - for your first airship.craft file, copy the allowed block ids from the Ships plugin page on this website. It will save you a lot of time and grief. I would even suggest the author consider dong this for the default config file. Ships was a good, well thought out plugin, but sadly the author no longer plays and it lacks some of the features of Movecraft (static ships until released, customizable block ids and ship requirements are what I care about)
2 - if the plugin seems to be working, but you can't pilot/create a ship, it may be permissions. Try giving OP rights, and see if that fixes it (only if you trust the user, and only for a test) (if, like me, you don't know how to do this, you edit the ops.txt file and add the user name)
As soon as the author can fix a few bugs (turning not booting you, and getting the engine and fuel system working), I will gladly be donating to the cause. And I would recommend others do the same. Quality work deserves reward.

There's no reason the system isn't capable as it is, the problem comes with the exception cases.
For example it would sink a large quantity of server resources if a craft was obstructed.

Posted May 27, 2013In the future, could you possibly add automatic movement of aircraft? By automatic, I mean the possibility of setting a predefined path for a craft and then the craft automatically executing that path. Or even an autopilot mode, where you somehow give the craft a set of coordinates, and it automatically flies there. I know it sounds complicated, but it would be a great feature.

The link to the documentation was for the other guy :)
To answer your question, there is not currently a config option to change the pilot item. If you have a basic level, and by that I mean know how to compile, of java, it is open source and you would only need to change one line.

I've read all the pages in the documentation and can't find anything about changing the piloting "key" from a stick to another item. Can you point me to the right page?
Thanks for the reply! :D

Posted May 26, 2013Any chance of an update with a config.yml option (or even a per-type option for each ship class) to change the item that you use to pilot?
I already use sticks for magic wands with another plugin, I'd like to be able to use a compass as the click-tool for Movecraft.

Posted May 23, 2013Nothing to do with lag or ship types.
Just means you are using a different version of craftbukkit. The reason movecraft is faster than any other movement plugin is because we update the blocks directy in the chunk, skipping costly lighting calculations.
This means that each craftbukkit upgrade causes incompatibility, which subsequently leads to the edit observed.

I've seen this same thing before. It may be due to a laggy server - I've noticed it on my server when there are lag spikes. How much RAM does your server have? That may also contribute to the problem. It also may be due to an incorrectly built ship. Try a different ship, and see if you get the same results.
