A Brief Description
Movecraft is a plugin that has been designed to give purpose to those extremely large (and awesome) oceans as well as to simply give the option to Sail, Drive, or Pilot amazing Ships, Creations, or Zeppelins. It allows the player and/or players to craft Vessels out of blocks that can be piloted and thus moved. Hence the name MoveCraft.
Credit
Movecraft was first created by Yogoda for hMod.
Movecraft 3 is a complete recode. It's only similarity to the Movecraft of Yogada is it's name.

Permissions
Movecraft uses the following permissions:
movecraft.<craft name>.pilot
movecraft.<craft name>.move
movecraft.<craft name>.rotate
movecraft.<craft name>.repair
For example, if you have a craft named "Airship", you would need movecraft.Airship.pilot, movecraft.Airship.move, and movecraft.Airship.rotate in order to completely use it.
There is also:
movecraft.<craft name>.create - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.cruisesign - only required if RequireCreatePerm is set to true in config.yml
movecraft.commands - grants access to /pilot, /cruise, /release, /rotateleft, /rotateright, /craftreport
You can also control these granularly with:
movecraft.commands.release
movecraft.commands.pilot
movecraft.commands.rotateleft
movecraft.commands.rotateright
movecraft.commands.cruise
movecraft.commands.craftreport
Dependencies
Movecraft does not require any other plugin to function, however certain features require additional plugins:
WorldEdit (>6.0) - For repair system
Vault - For payment system
In addition, the following plugins are supported for compatibility:
Cannons - Cannons will move with a piloted craft
WorldGuard - Region protection
Most common permission plugins - Assign permissions to various craft features

Sounds like a bad case of lag. Ships only move at one block at a time, so if its jumping something is really wrong. Also wall signs are a little gltiched along with torches. Placing them on the ground should solve the issue for now.

Posted May 12, 2013Hi AJCStriker, For some reason with this new version of Movecraft I have noticed that the signs on my ships break, but not only when moving diagonally. Also, sometimes when I reload the server it tells me that the minimum size for the craft is something completely different that what is on the .craft file. or the ship I am using goes at a different speed tan configured. I have to reload multiple times until this finally is correct. Do you know why this could be happening?

AJCStriker, you are the man! I had the sign in the allowed list, but what I doing was adding it to the ship after I was piloting. Solved the problem... I truly appreciate the fast response.
If you need any help with the documentation, let me know and I would be glad to assist.

I'm a little saddened that the documentation pages were so bad you couldn't set it up but to fix the last two issues:
- Add sign to the allowed block list, and make sure the helm sign is placed before piloting the craft.
- The file must have a different name "Airship.craft" and must also have a different name in the YAML.

Posted May 11, 2013It took me 2 days and a sleepless night, but I have finely got Movecraft to work... An hour later, Movecraft has become my favorite plugin and has caused me to completely re-design my server around it. So what took so long getting it to work? I'm glad you asked. Being a CraftBukkit server noob, I didn't understand a couple of important points:
* Movecraft 3 is completely different than its predecessors. This is mentioned several places; problem is, it is mentioned right next to the descriptions/instructions of the old versions. If you do a google search and find anything about Movecraft before 29 March 2013 (I'm guessing on the date) ignore it, because it will just confuse you. The good news is that Movecraft 3 just works, but doesn't do a very good job of telling you that it works. The only command as far as I can tell is /release. However, if you use the /plugins command and Movecraft is listed, then it is working. Your problem is something else. In my case it boiled down to YAML.
* The root of my problem was that I didn't understand YAML at all. YAML uses whitespace to structure data. You can't use Tabs to indent, you have to use spaces. A few folks have mentioned Notepad++ is a YAML editor, but I use a Mac. Turns out that TextMate has YAML support and when I turned that on, it was pretty obvious what I was doing wrong.
* The names of important elements are not consistent. For example, many of the suggestions from the past talked about making 60% of your structured blocks wool. It turns out that wool isn't even one of the allowed blocks in the Aircraft.craft template. I had spent hours making ships completely out of wool and it wasn't even allowed! I added wool (block ID: 35) to the allowedBlocks and it worked like a charm.
I haven't solved everything yet:
* I have seen others having the same problem, but I haven't been able to figure it out. When I use the [Helm] sign, the ship rotates fine, but from then on the [Helm] sign doesn't move with the ship. I don't rotate much, so I just /release, destroy the [Helm] sign, and re-pilot the ship. When I need to turn again, I just make another [Helm] sign.
* I can only get the Aircraft.craft YAML file to work. All other craft types fail, even if they are copies of Aircraft.craft with the only change being the name. I am pretty sure it is just a YAML issue... Hopefully, I can figure it out. UPDATE: Don't forget you have to give each type of craft its own permissions...
AJCStriker has done a wonderful job on re-writing this plugin. It really is much simpler to use than in the past. I highly recommend it.

Posted May 11, 2013This plugin doesn't seem to want to work for me. We're trying to build an airship, but it keeps saying our path is obstructed. I have trynudge set to true, would that stop it?
If that's the problem, I really hope nudge gets fixed, because I'm not a big fan of the blocky, chunky movement. I'm only using it because it's the only way to add airships (and hopefully soon, naval ships) to the game. Our server has three naval ships and one submarine, and using those would be awesome. But if we could use them in a fluid, smooth, realistic way, without all the chunky movement, that would be amazing.

All you have to do is connect at least 10 blocks together and then make a sign somewhere on it that says "Aircraft" (without the quotation marks) in the top line of the sign. Then right click that sign with a stick to pilot it. Make sure the type of blocks you want to use are allowed in your .Craft file.

Posted May 9, 2013Alright! I did a bit of tinkering of my own and finally got it to work. I had to adjust the format a bit more even compared to the file on this page but now all of my blocks are working. If anyone wants a craft file preloaded with more blocks please check this link.
http://pastebin.com/R242PkRh
Download notepad(plusplus) and paste everything in that pastebin link into notepad(plusplus). Click the language tab up top on notepad(plusplus) and set it to YAML (or .YML). Afterwards, go to file, click save as, set to save as a .YML files but name the file aircraft.Craft and save to the movecraft types directory (plugins > Movecraft > types). Go to plugins > Movecraft > types directory. If you see Aircraft.Craft there listed as a CRAFT file, then you should be good to go. To test it, launch your server, build a platform of 10 wool or more a couple blocks off the ground, build the sign that says "aircraft" in the top line, minus the quotation marks, and then right click the sign with a stick in hand. It should give you control of the platform, and the rest is self explanatory. For the purpose of thoroughness however, right click while facing a direction to move the craft in that direction, and when you're tired of your craft simply type /release to relinquish control.
Good luck!

Yes, Notepad plusplus is pretty epic when it comes to keep YAML at bay.
And it seems your formating isnt correct. Your indentions arent right, as you can see when you look at the aircraft.craft example thats linked above.

Posted May 8, 2013DId a bit of googling and Notepad(plusplus) seems to have YAML parsing built in so I think that might suffice? In any case, I don't know anything about YAML code when it comes to reading or writing it. The indentions and other characters are a foreign language to me in themselves.
I had a look at a few tutorials and gave it a shot myself, still seems I have no idea what I'm doing as the plugin still no longer functions. If anyone has the time and patience to help me figure this out it would be much appreciated. Below is a pastebin link to how the file is currently formatting, so if anyone would mind helping me through this or setting it up correctly for me to use the listed blocks, I would be grateful.
Please, and thank you in advance for any assistance.

Posted May 8, 2013Amazing plugin, but can anyone help me to tweak it? I opened up the aircraft.CRAFT file to add a few more allowed blocks, yet after doing so, I went back in game, made a craft out of the new blocks, right click the sign that said aircraft, and nothing happened this time.
Here is an example of what the Craft file said previously:
allowedBlocks: - 5 - 68 - 33 - 17 - 50 - 75 - 76 - 26 - 29 - 33 - 53 - 63
In the file's notepad format there are four spaces, a dash, another space, and then the Item DEC value. Rinse and repeat for the next allowed block, as seen above. I followed this format to add additional blocks such as wool ( - 35 ) only to find it (the plugin) doesn't work at all now, have I done something wrong?
