Well this is as good as dead but the future looks bleak for all of my plugins. No promises on what will happen in the near future...

MoreMobs has officially been succeed by Monster Apocalypse. Its a great plugin and is VERY worthy of taking over this plugin. MoreMobs Lite DOES work on Minecraft 1.0 but MoreMobs was never updated, you may continue to use this plugin if you wish but i strongly encourage you check out Monster Apocalypse We had a good run, thanks to everyone who had a part in it!

MoreMobs Lite

What Is it?
MoreMobs listens for mobs to spawn NATURALLY (not via spawner of command) and spawns more of that mob. I found this is actually pretty sweet and makes the sheep herds look a bit more realistic :) it also makes night fighting more fun! Any Sheep spawned by this plugin will be colored! The coloring is completely random! MoreMobs will make Giants spawn naturally! You can now TRULY make more mobs spawn and not just increase the amount already spawned. There is now an option to allow animals (Chickens, Cows, Wolves, and Pigs) to spawn in loaded chunks. See bellow for more details. NEW! Mob damage and Mob health are now configurable along with the ability to stop Skeletons and Zombies from burning in sunlight. See the config page.
Why Do I Want It?
Well it's fun and if you don't like fun...well your a boring person and you should probably go play some Minecraft. And it adds colored sheep! And you can get rid of those nasty-looking squids! And you can see naturally spawned Giants!

As of v1.4 there is now 1 command available:
/mmreload - Reloads the plugin
How Do I Install It?
Just dump it in your Plugins folder. After you have run it at least once a folder called MoreMobs will appear in your Plugins directory. Inside there is one file, config.yml, take a look at the config page.

Bugs We're Aware Of
- IT DON'T WORK ON 1.0!!!
No sound is played when your attacked if you set a custom damage valueFIXED! Except on instant kills...If you set a custom damage value armor is ignoredFIXED! It could use some testing but I think I fixed it...Mobs don't seem to spawn in already loaded chunksFIXED! I changed chunkPopulate to chunkLoad which seems to have fixed this but it needs some testing...Add cool-down timePROBABLY FIXED BUT UNTESTED! Because I'm no longer canceling the event this SHOULD be fixed but it needs testing...Giants are acting very weird and spawn like crazy even if disabled...POSSIBLY FIXED I'LL TEST IT WHEN I GET HOME!

Posted Nov 26, 2011Could you make mobs spawn in specific biomes? i.e. I want giants to only spawn in mountains and skeletons to spawn in huge amount in deserts and extra zombies in swamps.
My server loves this plug! Keep up the good work!

well, every time bukkit edits their code, they make a re-build (RB). each time they make a new build, they give it a number (it has to do with which re-build it is). so when we talk about build 1337, we mean re-build 1337

Don't know where you got 1.0 from im still on 1.8.1 no way I'm updating till 1.0 until a rb comes out and worldguard is updated at least.

i agree 1.9 and 1.9.1 dont seem to be very safe...we'll get a new version out HOPEFULLY before a 1.0 RB comes out and we have to do a ton more coding :D

Posted Nov 23, 2011taking the plugin out spawn rates are back to normal in areas it seems.
It was spawning out of control on 1337 and 1.9 regardless of setting them all to default.
So if its back to normal without your plugin that's saying something.
It got too bad that area as soon as get there you would lag out and frame like crazy due to the animals.
And yes this was all on natural spawn settings since updating to your latest versions.
Yea probably a combination of both for now we cant rally use this plugin due to it.

Noticed after 1.9 or 1.9.1 animals all spawn massively at players like chickens and cows regardless of spawn rate settings in the config once you get outside of login areas and portal areas it seems to settle a small amount but still massive in areas.
We end with 8000+ animals and mobs on the map with 3-4 players on in there own areas and cant keep up messages.

yeah... i'm revising the sheep code, and it should fix some bugs like that. The problem is that in 1.9.1 it spawns animals by loading chunks, not just randomly spawning them. I think this is causing a conflict with MorMobs.

We have 2 worlds minind and main.
Mining is because main is too large and is new generation code.
People on main without the rank to get into mining are complaining of no sheep.
One guy supposedly hasn't seen a single sheep since he joined a week ago and he has bee online allot he even walked for a couple hours and found nothing.
1.9.1 is like animal central, we have cows and chicken spawning like crazy even on near default values.apart from sheep.
Before 1.9.1 we set sheep to 7 extra and when they spawned they spawned all at once the amount of spawns never changed so we ended up reducing the spawn rate as it was the same area every time.
But sheep is rare on main (Old Chunk) world.
But as soon we go into mining world (new terrain generation code) theirs sheep everywhere.
There's still a issue with spawning sheep around the map for older chunks.
We get allot of players crying that wool is too hard to get or make and it's rare to the point some get a little angry.
Yet we have spider spawners which everyone complains is too slow and it takes 6 hours to get 3 64 stacks of block.
My only solution it seems to please members is to chuck in a spawn box mod and double the spawn rate at out string collectors.
Hope its fixed naturally in 1.0 as default.

there is a great tutorial on thenewboston.com on how to get started with java. once you have a good knowledge of it, check out betterphp.co.uk for bukkit plugin tutorials. the guy who makes the vids is a friend of mine, and he covers some pretty cool stuff.
