More Mobs
You think the default mobs of Minecraft are boring? Check out this plugin and you will get an adventure! More Mobs is a easy to use plugin to get more mobs into your server.
Installation, Configuration, and Use
Configuration file includes settings for the wraith's soul-reaping setup and also for the percent chances for mob spawning. A new feature in 3.0 is the ability to bind which type of mob a more mob spawns based off of, but that is explained in the configuration itself. The commands are /moremobs and /setWraithHell. /moremobs is used for spawning the moremobs, so for instance /moremobs giant would spawn a giant at the block where you are looking. /setWraithHell allows you to set the location where the victims of wraiths get sent when they die.

![]() | Wraith | This is the wraith. He wanders the overworld, looking for souls to reap. Should he ever hit you with his sickle, your soul will be ripped from your body and you will wake up in "hell" (the nether), or alternatively the world and coordinates of your choice. If your players are wimps and they whine about getting sent to the nether all the time, you can disable soul-reaping in the config file and the wraith will just behave like a regular zombie. ![]() | Giant Zombie | This is the Giant Zombie. he's been part of the game code since Alpha, but never actually appeared in game! isn't that a shame. At any rate, he's here now! He can be found anywhere regular zombies spawn, but is much rarer. He has a lot of hearts, but is much friendlier than his smaller zombie cousins and only attacks you if you hit him first. Even when he attacks you, he can't reach down far enough with his arms, so he will just try to step on you! dodge those feet! |
| Giant Slime | You thought those regular large slimes were big, right? Wrong! With MoreMobs, you have a 1/100 chance of a slime spawning HUGE! These monsters have ridiculously high health and are very difficult to kill. Other than being MASSIVE, they behave just like regular Slimes. and the best part? they split into 2-4 smaller slimes when they die! and those split! and those split! WARNING:by the time you manage to entirely kill this thing, your sword might break! | |
| Giant Magma Cube | What's a Giant Slime without some giant lava slimes as well? Yes, ladies and Gentlmen: it's a giant magma cube. All the properties of the giant slime, plus it jumps 10 blocks in the air! | |
| Herobrine Blocks | On dark and stormy nights, the evil Lord Herobrine emerges from his lair... Some nights, when he's feeling particularly evil, he casts spells on blocks and makes them do his bidding. These blocks, now filled with Herobrine's evil spirit, rise out of the ground and begin floating around, looking for players to land upon and suffocate. Most of the time they pick up another block beside them to use as a weapon. A picture doesn't really do this mob justice; In this picture it just looks like a couple floating grass blocks. Let me assure you; it moves, it turns, it attacks.... BEWARE :) | |
| PigChest | This delightful, adorable little creature will carry your items for you. Simply right click a pig with a storage minecart to put the minecart on his back. He'll carry it around for you in a very humorous fashion- it'll wobble around and look for all the world like it's going to slip off, but it never does. He will follow a carrot on a stick, so if you get 2 or 3 of these guys they would make long-distance travel very easy. | |

i have a few ideas for you ;)
how about:
Mummy (beige leather armor, wooden sword), slowness effect. causes nausea in contact
Woodgoblin (dark green leather armor, wooden sword), mining fatigue effect on contact
Goblin (dark brown leather armor, stone sword), weakness effect on contact
Giant Villager Zombie
Neptune Zombie (spawns on water, blow leather armor, diamond axe), causes blindness effect
Skelly on a Cavespider
Zombie on a Spider
Zombie on a Cavespider
Obisidian Skeleton (Wither skeleton with obisian block as head and an enchanted flint item (sharpness 5) as weapon)
Skeleton King (red leather armor, golden helmet, skeleton with a goldaxe), high health
also the death messages could say which exact mob killed the player...
would it also be possible to spawn entitys like thrown wither skull projectiles as own mobs? or make the wraiths fly? maybe add a ghost mob, similar to wraith?
oh and i found a bug:
Giant Slime and Giant Magma Cube are both invincible ;) and the wasp should despawn after some time because its a bit annoying if the particles are kind of stuck and i have a part of a mountain "bleeding" ;D

Giant Spider (if possible)
and you may want to add a way to return from the world the wraith sends you in... on my server it sends into an ice world generated with HothGenerator and there is no way back
Also i cant seem to find the mobs yet though i activated them and all that... so y it no spawn them? (they are already spawnable by command but do not spawn naturally :/ )

Posted Mar 15, 2013the idea for the firing fireballs is awesome, and I personally think that the pigchest is not a joke, it is awesome. If you are moving, and you do not want to go back and forth, just find a pigchest, also, if you can still ride pigs, it adds the potential for riding, traveling, high storage, fast speed cars!! it is awesome, it would also be pretty cool if for food fight it would shoot food at you and restore food points (a helpful mob)

global permissions would actually be easier than the individual permissions. I didn't add them because I thought people would ask for more specific perms for each mob. I suppose I could add a moremobs.* node at some point that would allow spawning all mobs. I'm not sure, but that might already work, depending on the permissions plugin you use?
In the meantime, it should not be too hard to add the permissions for each mob to your permissions file. moremobs.wraith, moremobs.heroblock, moremobs.slime, moremobs.magmacube, moremobs.wisp, moremobs.giant, moremobs.help.

If I understand correctly these are the permissions nodes basically:
Could you add a global permission to allow or deny the spawning of mobs? Maybe something like:
So we can give or deny specific groups permission to spawn all available mobs. For example I don't want regular players spawning anything, but I would like the admins to be able to.
Having a global permission also means the config file doesn't have to be updated for newly added mobs which makes everybody's life a little bit easier... well except yours because you'd have to program the global permission first ;)

The wisp does not attack yet. The lich is still in planning, but I personally would like to see it shoot fireballs with its blaze rod. If we make it extremely hard to kill, maybe we can even make it drop the fireball-shooting blaze rod upon death? It would have to be SUPER rare though... and like as hard to kill as two enderdragons at once... because that weapon would be close to priceless...

@jeannen I don't think .schematic files save entities with them though, and these are all entities?
@larsturbo We eventually plan to make our mobs highly customizable. However, at the moment we are in the middle of a huge recode to create MoreMobs 2. perhaps moreMObs 2.5 or something can feature that.

Posted Mar 7, 2013Hey dude! I've got a few good ideas for some mobs! Ghost: How i think it would be great, Invisible (obiusly) but could you make it so it would be invisible BUT make creepy noises so you know it is there!
Death: How i think it would be great, It could be a wither skeleton but a lot slower and with a scythe to slay you.
Hope you will add these to your mod!
