MobCatcher
MobCatcher
Capture mobs and get eggs legitimately:
Version: 3.18
This project has moved over to SpigotMC!
Thank you guys so much for all the downloads on BukkitDev. Head on over to SpigotMC to download the latest version of MobCatcher.
This page will no longer be updated.
MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

Posted Jun 10, 2012First - Great plugin!!
However, is there a way to get the id-numbers for the captured mob eggs? They are not the same numbers as the ones you can spawn in creative / game mode 1.
Ex. Pig spawn egg has the id "pigegg" or "383:90" The problem is that a captured pig (using this plugin) gives you another item.. They look exactly the same and has the same tooltip-name.
Continue your good work and I hope to get a response soon.. :) Cheers!

You can edit the speed that its shot at, as well as turning the entire function off and having it simply spawn the mobs like normal, in the current config.

Posted Jun 9, 2012Could you make it optional in the config that when mob eggs are shot from a dispenser they act normal? its nice to throw eggs but it kind of makes dispensers act funny, not sure if this is possible but worth a shot.

That's not a bug, you damaged a pig man with an egg, that's how they should be reacting, lol.
Make a ticket and I'll see if i can add that in for you. I'm pretty busy atm.

It already saves professions, but as far an inventories go, I'm not sure how easy that will be, but I'll look into it.
Also, Im making you a ticket so I dont forget.

I was just letting you know that there's an existing plugin that does the same thing, and is already quite established.

Posted Jun 8, 2012just wondering, i doubt this will happen but i figured its worth a shot. is there any chance you could make this plugin compatible with the useful villagers plugin, so when the save data remove stacking (or something like that) is on it will save the inventory and profession of the villager.

Peaceful mobs should already be persistent. You want the rest to be persistent? That sounds like a bad idea, lol.
Also, I've no idea how to do that, but it would require keeping track of a crapload of mobs and would make the plugin probably quite a bit slower

Posted Jun 4, 2012Does this stop spawned mobs from disappearing? If not, you should add this feature. Otherwise good mod.

I was like, "Holy Crap! It works with saddles? I didn't know that.... Oh" lol
No ones asked for it to work with saddles yet, and I just hadn't thought of it, lol.
But another great video, thanks :)

Posted Jun 2, 2012@xLoGiiKzZo Out of all the mods I use, this one is the most stable and lest bothersome. It is an A+ mod. However, in the last two week I have only been using it to get cats off my chests LOL ;) Its a great way to store colored sheep for later breeding. Useful for storing your army of iron golems. Or dropping a creeper or blaze on your buddy during the day >:) And yes, if he has errors, he fixes the mod ASAP. :)
