MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

Usage
All you have to do is hold an egg (configurable) and left click on the mob you wish to capture. Its really that easy.
/mobc - Displays all command usage
/mobc item - Displays Capture item setting
/mobc clean - Removes data from a spawn egg itemstack.
/mobc projectiles - Displays current projectile settings
/mobc settings [mob type] - Displays settings
/mobc worlds - Displays which worlds MobCatcher is enabled in
/mobc area - displays how many Protection Signs the player is within the radius of
/mobc resetsigndata - Deletes all saved sign data

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

Posted Jan 29, 2014How do I disable the plugin requiring 5 redstone dust in order to capture a mob? I tried setting it to 0 but it just says it requires 0 redstone dust in the chat -_-

Posted Jan 23, 2014There have been issues with Ocelot spawn eggs spawning three at a time if you wait around 10 minutes after capturing, then rethrowing the egg. I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen or no.
Also after placing new spawn eggs inside of a pet's inventory using the MyPet plugin, It either erases the pet's egg lore completely or simply hides it, thus disabling the use of the "signs or auctions".
I'm not sure who else has issues similar to those or it's just on Canadia.

Posted Jan 21, 2014Hi thank you for this plugin. I was just wondering if there is a way to set it to where certain groups are able to have different catch rates. I am using groupmanager and I want donors to have 100% catch rate all the time while non-donors have a low catch rate. Thank you.

Not at the moment. I could probably make it work for unknown ids, but i wouldnt be able to save anything about that mob. You would get default mobs all the time, not even randomized ones

Thanks for this plugin. But is there a way to catch custom mob ? (from Mocreature for example..) ? Just that.
I have the message "no permission, or can't catch etc".. :(.
Any idea ?

Posted Jan 15, 2014I'm having some issues with horses, Shopkeepers, and MobCatcher.
The first is that you can only catch a horse by throwing an egg at it from a distance, so I have to keep throwing eggs on.
The second is that you cannot change Shopkeeper types because it throws the egg. (is there a way to disable throwing villager eggs but not others?)

Do you know how to negate? Just add the "-mobcatcher.catch.*" permission (with the dash, glued to the permission, that is the negation). Just to warn you, many people have spoken about bad PeX mechanics. I am not an expert, but since finding out that PeX has faulty timed permissions I moved to zPerms and have had not a single problem since.

Since 1.7.2 something changed and MobCatcher bugs out if you set your item cost amount to zero. For the time being, you could give everyone the MobCatcher.op.free permission while I'm working out the fix for this.
