MobCatcher
MobCatcher
Capture mobs and get eggs legitimately:
Version: 3.18
This project has moved over to SpigotMC!
Thank you guys so much for all the downloads on BukkitDev. Head on over to SpigotMC to download the latest version of MobCatcher.
This page will no longer be updated.
MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

My apologies, the comment section is so full of spam that I didn't see your question.
I could probably make it work with mo creatures, but it wont be able to distinguish between the different modded mobs. You could set the cost and chance and all that stuff for every vanilla mob, but all of the mo creatures ones would have to be considered the same mob, as far as the config file is concerned.
That's all assuming that nothing weird happens when the version of bukkit isn't exactly the same as the one i built on. It's something i'd definitely like to look into.
If you'd make a ticket and set it as an enhancement, I'll get right to work on this once I finish the regular update. Thanks for your patience.

Probably not for the next release. The messages would be a colossal pain to change, since if I'm being perfectly honest, that section of code is rather unorganized. The prefix is doable, tho.
If you would make a ticket, and post it as an enhancement, that will ensure that I get to this when I have time.

Those are not excuses. Thats me outlining what I need from you before I can begin to work on your issue. I can't install every plugin on goddamn bukkit dev until I find the one thats causing a conflict for you. Making a ticket and starting a conversation about the issue you're having and what other plugins you are using is how we narrow it down and figure out how the other dev and I can work together to fix it.
Are you seriously asking me if the bug you continue to refuse to make a ticket for has been fixed?
The ticket section is my todo list when I am working on this plugin. Your bug is not on my list of things to do. It's really that simple. If you refuse to cooperate, you should not be surprised when your bugs are ignored.
Any more unproductive/ignorant comments from you will be deleted. If you want to move forward on getting your bug fixed, make a ticket and I will be happy to help you.

All of the data that this plugin saves about every mob that you capture requires me to use code inside craftbukkit and minecraft that isn't accessible in the Bukkit api. This means that will potentially break any time anything in either of those 2 sources is changed. The only way for me to be certain that you won't have bugs that I don't is to tell you the exact version that I built against. This makes it an ENORMOUS amount of work for me to update and the bukkit updates go by so fast I tend to miss a lot of them or decide to wait until a bigger version change.
Again, I'm not sure what you guys are expecting from me. A good deal of the problems people come to me are other developers faults. If your bug doesn't happen when MobCatcher is the only plugin on the server, then there's some sort of conflict between MobCatcher and another plugin. These are very difficult to pinpoint and fix, ask any developer.
I am a full time college student with 16 hours and I work a part time job. The ticket system is there so I can see everything that needs to be worked on, not so I can blow you off. If you say to me "zOMG thers a bug when I catches a zombie and 10 extra armors is dropped. Fix it Plzzzzzz" I'll have to ask you 3 or 4 follow-up questions that could be eliminated if you had made a ticket. It keeps everything organized and separates the conversation about your bug from the rest of the comment section.
You act as though it's my privilege to slave over this project for you because you so deserve it. Feel free to use whatever other plugin. What do I gain from having you around here? Absolutely nothing except one more entitled plugin user to heckle me in my comments section.

Posted Mar 9, 2014I'm also sick of the delays (it's always "a few days"), the constant version breaking (no other plugin I have requires me to stick to one single Bukkit update), the bugs, and the attitude of this dev. Every response is either "It's not my fault, it's (someone else) fault" or "make a ticket". And "make a ticket" bluntly comes across as "I don't care, go away".
You really do seem like you're just plain sick of bothering with this.
So let's try Egg Catcher instead, it looks like the dev actually cares about feedback AND updates his plugin. I'm done here.

Tickets help me organize all the requests and reports and get to them all as quick as possible. You are not the only one reporting bugs and asking for features. If I don't fix your bug right this fucking second, which I'm not going to, it will slowly move further down the comments section until I forget about it.
The ticket also gets all of my preliminary questions out of the way. Were I to do all of this in the comments sections I'd have to ask you questions about your MobCatcher and Bukkit builds and a handful of other things, which would become a huge mess.
Last time, your bug was caused by another plugin. I'm not sure what you want me to do to fix that besides perhaps wave my fucking magic wand and hope that the issue resolves itself. I can't fix problems with another dev's plugins. This issue sounds like a similar problem because I'm not able to replicate the problem on my test server, which doesn't run any other plugins.
Again, make a ticket. If you don't make a ticket, I'm simply not going to help you. Once you've done that, I'd be happy to help you narrow it down and figure out what other plugin is causing the problem and contact it's developer; if I feel like it, that is. Insulting the intelligence of the dev isn't a great way to get any favors around here.

Posted Mar 2, 2014Is it possible to have this plugin recognize Mo' Creature Mod spawn eggs? I loaded the 1.6.4 version on my bukkit-forge server and even though it threw the warning, it still works fine with normal mobs, but when I throw an egg at a Mo' Creatures mob it just simply says: "MobCatcher: Either you do not have permission or this mob type is not able to be captured."

You can use Spigot, Spigot adds /summon, /setblock and /testforblock.

You probably have /mobGriefing false.
No creeper holes, but mobs can't pick up items either.

Posted Feb 24, 2014I think I figured it out. The current Bukkit doesn't support the /summon command, so I got a plugin that puts it back in, but it doesn't have armor capabilities yet. Although that doesn't really explain the part where mobs can't pick up armor at all.

Posted Feb 24, 2014I don't think so. I use this and have no problems summoning zombies and skeletons with custom armor. They can pick up and wear armor too.

Posted Feb 23, 2014Is there anything in this plugin that would keep zombies from picking up armor? The /summon command can't put armor on them either.
