MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

Usage
All you have to do is hold an egg (configurable) and left click on the mob you wish to capture. Its really that easy.
/mobc - Displays all command usage
/mobc item - Displays Capture item setting
/mobc clean - Removes data from a spawn egg itemstack.
/mobc projectiles - Displays current projectile settings
/mobc settings [mob type] - Displays settings
/mobc worlds - Displays which worlds MobCatcher is enabled in
/mobc area - displays how many Protection Signs the player is within the radius of
/mobc resetsigndata - Deletes all saved sign data

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

Posted Sep 2, 2013Could you update your permissions page to list all the permission nodes for all mobs? I don't see horses, withers, bats, witches, or wither skeletons on there. I know it would be easy to infer what the permission node is, but I'd think it would be nice to have it there anyway.

Posted Aug 27, 2013when catching a wither skeleton, it gives the egg and shows it as type: wither w: iron, but if you spawn it, itll spawn a normal skeleton. issue?

The catch nodes default to true, you'll need to negate them in your default group before you can add them back anywhere.

Posted Aug 15, 2013Can you add supercharged creepers to the config? I have a plugin called bloodmoon in, it basicly makes all mobs stronger than normal and it only spawns supercharged creepers on a random night. I don't want them to be able to catch those types of creepers, only normal creepers. Thanks

Bukkit does a lot of weird things. It sounds like the nbt data of your spawn egg is getting erased.
The only known bug is that item nbt data is erased for players in creative mode. This is bukkits issue.
If you can replicate those problems you are having entirely from survival mode then make a ticket and ill figure out what the issue is.

The only issue I have run into so far is that Horse Metadata(such as Color) is not saved between Server restarts. E.g. I have a horse that is bay,paint,tame,saddle,ironarmor.(According to Essentials) If I capture it and release it again, no problem, if I capture it, rename (using Anvil) it or restart the server, the Metadata is just gone and I have a random colored,untamed horse.

You're left clicking on them with the correct capture item and it works for other mobs? If so, make a ticket but that doesn't sound very likely to me, lol

no, that version checker is checking for snapsnot (dev build) versions, not the beta.
Is it having any issues on that build other than the warning? If it is i'll expedit a fix, otherwise its not a huge deal to me.

So, I'm running the beta-build "R0.1" and this is what I get in the console: "10:25:30 [INFO] You are not running the correct version of Craftbukkit for this version of MobCatcher. 10:25:30 [INFO] MobCatcher v3.12 is intended to be run on CB 1.6.2-R0.1-SNAPSHOT
10:25:30 [INFO] Expect major bugs or failure to enable. Please do not report bug s until you are using compatible versions of CB and MobCatcher."
So, is the version checker broken?

Endermen can't be hit with projectiles. You can still capture them by hitting them

if it does, that would be amazing, lol. Tho almost by definition Bukkit breaks things when they do a major version change. I'll be testing/updating if necessary tomorrow.
