As most of you have already worked out, public support for this project has been non existent. Unfortunately with the workload of trying to manage and run a server network where minigames is only 1 out of what feels like 1000 projects we maintain... It gets hard trying to find time to help everyone.
But fear not this project is indeed not abandoned! We have moved the project to SpigotMC:

Please Note I have provided updated downloads for all versions back to 1.7 .. We are trying to get some idea of what versions people are running still and what we need to focus on...updating will help us target our product improvements.

Minigames is a plugin in which users can create and play several types of Minigames on a server, without the risk of losing items or XP when they die. Players can also use checkpoints so when they die, they are reverted back to that position.
The Possible Minigame types are:
- Single Player - for jump puzzles, mazes etc.
- Last Man Standing - A multiplayer Free for All (FFA) PvP Minigame
- Race - A Multiplayer race Minigame
- Team Deathmatch - A deathmatch round against 2 teams, first to a defined score wins!
- Deathmatch - A free for all deathmatch round against any predefined amount of players, first to a defined score wins!
- Spleef - Its possible to create custom Spleef arenas, as well as your standard spleef arena.
- Treasure Hunt - A global treasure finding Minigame that is always running
- CTF - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame.
- Infection - An expansion to the Team Deathmatch Minigame where the infected players must kill all survivors.

Purpose:
Minigames was created for players to play games within a server and win prizes for completion, also to let players play PvP games without the risk of losing their hard earned items and XP. Minigames also reward players for completing each Minigame, or with PvP Minigames, the player can be rewarded with 'bets' that players make before they start the Minigame. These bets can be in Economy money or preset items.
These Minigames can be created in any style the player wishes, for example, parkour jump puzzles, mazes and treasure hunts. As well as PvP games like CTF, races and more. You are given a lot of options to add to each Minigame individually, so they are all completely customisable.

Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- And the amount of players playing games. Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

Sorry I've only tried out DM so far, haha.
For 2) Yes I agree it can be done with pistons I guess but then again.. If I did it with pressure plates there's still a chance players can get in, and I know i sound all paranoiad but in time players will figure out to this and just camp and kill :|.

Posted Jan 21, 2013You can actually bypass the approval wait time by providing a link directly to the newest update (http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/minigames/files/16-minigames-v1-3-5/ will link to the next update as soon as you upload it, regardless of whether or not it has been approved).

1. Have you tried team deathmatch? Teams have already been done, CTF was just an addition to it.
2. You could build something like that, no need for something complex.
3. Its all already there, automated (team join signs to come) with auto-balance. Seriously, try team deathmatch! :)

Yeah its a bit hard to understand, treasure hunt uses the default loadout as the items in the chest, follow the tutorial in the tutorials section above.

Questions/Suggestions:
I just watched your video and I have some questions/suggestions:
1) Is there a way to tell what player is on what team? I would suggest colored wool representing the color of the team.. Red wool hat for a red player etc. Also IF player has the flag then is it possible to make the red wool on the players head enchanted for the time he has the flag on?
2) Can we set a spawn room for the teams so opposition teams cannot enter that area (The flag should not be in the same room as where the team spawns)? So the opposition doesn't just camp behind the players and kill them when they spawn.
3) Can you choose what team your going to go in? Or is automated on the number of players that are currently on one team? And if two teams were playing and in one of the team most of the players disconnected. So it was like 5 VS 1 will the teams be auto-balanced?

Yes I should probably do that, the only one it removes upon startup is the fire resistance one, but it should really remove all. I'll do capture points next update, that is one I wanted to do too, but I'd rather get a working version to the public for this first then spend another week bug testing another new feature. As for the vehicle thing, I think I've fixed that now, I'll have to double check though.
In other news, new tutorial video above showing the new features of Minigames and how to set them up (well part one anyway, there needs to be a tutorial on spleef again). Should also mention that the 1.4.0 update will be coming tomorrow (hopefully, I'll upload it tomorrow, then it just needs to await approval.)

Posted Jan 20, 2013Could you have the plugin remove potion effects before and after a match? And I don't know if I've said this before, but when I leave a minigame in a vehicle I don't get teleported out of the arena. Anyways, I'm looking forwards to CTF a lot. The plugin I have isn't working too great, and I like to keep my plugin list short. When you make CTF could you also make a similar capture-the-points game? There's another plugin for this, too but like I said I like to keep my plugin list short.

if you use /mgm set mygame restoreblock add chest1 -l .. it sets the block you are looking at
I find this to be easer for me then standing on the blocks ... and I noticed that too .. the chests dont select right if you stand on them instead it selects the block under them

Posted Jan 19, 2013I should mention again that Minigames won't work for 1.4.7. Sorry I said it did, but I didn't realise then (late at night) that it wouldn't. Not to worry, the updates almost ready, I'm doing a tutorial today for all the new features then probably releasing it tomorrow.

Nope, they only restore when the game ends. Since you were by yourself no end event was called. (You can just do "/mgm end" to test that stuff)
